Really awesome and the history is fantastic, well done LSU! It is a come and go view able open sanctuary that. An be seen from multiple vantage points. Mike the tiger seems to love attention and patrols regularly and usually towards people. He poses and moves like a kitty rubbing up against the fence and trees, very play full versus other tigers I have observed at zoos and such. He must be really loved by the care takers. We came on New Years day. I thought we would have the place to ourselves, but there were many families there to see Mike also, and it was great! The sanctuary was clean and well maintained, he seemed happy.

The lonely Royal Bengal Tiger named Mike lives in an enclosed area that has some patch of grass, some bamboo bushes, and a pool of water. During the day the tiger hangs out the enclosure and mostly ignores the noises made by the tourists to attract its attention. The tiger represents the mascot of LSU and is replaced when it dies. The tiger goes inside after 8 pm. There is plenty of parking space.

At first, I didn’t believe there will be a living tiger. Now I saw it and I must say it was an amazing experience. I liked the place most and personally feel this is a must see if you are going to Baton Rouge.

What an amazing attraction to have on campus. Really cool place to check out even if you're not a fan of LSU.

Very nice to see a University with a live mascot. Mike is a rescued tiger. Great place to bring young kids!

Oh little Mikey. I’m pretty sure he wants to be in the pre-game parade each week.

Wanted to see LSU and Mike the tiger while in Louisiana. Initially Mike was lying down near his shelter, but eventually he walked around and we got some good views of him.

Visiting Mike is always a must if on campus for a game or near campus and able to walk to his enclosure. The Vet students and staff take excellent care of Mike! I went and saw him last weekend for the LSU Auburn game (10/14/2023) and he was enjoying the breeze and shade ❤️

Mike the Tiger is the live Bengal Tiger that is the mascot of Louisiana State University and lives in a 15,000 square foot habitat next to the stadium. They are currently on the seventh Mike the Tiger, and they started keeping them in 1936. It has even received two doses of the Covid 19 vaccine. I wonder how much they gave him. He is inspected by veterinary staff regularly, and the current habitat is far larger than habitats in the past.

A nice stop over on a very long road trip. We loved that there was a LSU gear shop right beside the tiger cage.

A visit to Mike the Tiger's habitat at LSU is a must-see for anyone visiting Baton Rouge. It provides a unique opportunity to see the mascot up close,(especially, when it jumps into the water) and learn about tiger conservation, and experience the pride and passion of the LSU community.

Had a nice time with the family visiting Mike! It was very hot, but he was found sleeping near his enclosure.

If you're in the area, why not?! The LSU campus is beautiful and walking around the stadiums is easy. Mike is easy to find. There are some historical plaques about past "Mikes".

Mike the Tiger is a beautiful Bengal Tiger right next to Tiger Stadium. Was pretty cool seeing a full grown tiger on a college campus. Pleasure we got to see Mike VII.

Took the family to see Mike and it was a hit! Mike is very active and was right up next to the fence for our entire visit. The enclosure is designed so you can very close and we were able to get great pictures of him. You will never get this close to a tiger in a zoo. Overall it was a great visit and I know the family will want to come back soon.

Our LSU visit was really cool, after having been driven through campus we visited the ancient burial mounds, and then close by was Mike the tiger's habitat, I hear that feeding time is quite the spectacle.

Always fun to visit Mike... should be noted you have to pay for parking and Google maps took us 3 different routes all of which ended at a gate only for students. Had to figure out the correct entrance ourselves.

It was amazing to see upclose and personal such a beautiful Tiger and not be at a Zoo. The habitat is very nicely done and looks accommodating to his needs. Mike was even up for pictures as well, lol!

For an animal habitat for the university's mascot this is very well designed and maintained. There is lots of space for Mike and plenty of places for him to be readily seen or hidden depending on his mood. There are lots of informative plaques about the habitat and history of the tiger mascot. Totally worth coming back every so often to hope to get an even better view!

Not many colleges have live mascots, and even fewer are accessible to the public. The habitat is pretty big and has some good features like a waterfall, small "river", and pool (for Mike :) For everyone else, it is right next to the football and basketball stadium/coliseum.

After many visits to Baton Rouge I finally got to see Mike. He definitely is living his best life! A must if you are visiting for a few days
