Ok, so this place was added to our stops after learning about it. We had already eaten at Dark horse... but the food here sounds so good that I want to go back. They also have brunch. It has a nice look in a downtown building with big arches. It's also a distillery but it's all from their other location in Jackson. We tried the whiskey and agave. Both were smooth and $29 for a fifth. There is a kids menu.

Pretty standard BBQ Spot in terms of decor and overall vibe. Pros: our server was incredible. He provided extra drinks to our table, accommodated my mothers food allergy, and split me and my husband's drink into two cups (we like to share A beer on occasion). The Reuben was amazing, but I'd recommend extra sauce on the side. The fish and chips were STELLAR with the tarter sauce. Cole slaw was meh, along with the kids steak and fries. The BBQ beef was good and paired well with the mac and cheese. We had a dark beer. It was smooth and tasted good. I was surprised that as a brewery there were so few brews, but we were happy with our drink.

Very nice place. With their beer, wine, and hard liquor all in one place. We were lucky and patronized on a nice, late summer day and enjoyed the patio. We didn't have any food on this trip. The waitress was sweet and attentive. Definitely will come back on our next Marshall visit.

We reserved the private room for 40 people. The room was bright and spacious with easy access. The service was top notch; everything came out quickly, hot and delicious! Our drinks were refilled in a timely fashion and the tables were kept clear! I highly recommend it for a gathering place!

Prices are way too high. Been here several times and always surprised at how tough it is to find a reasonable choice at a reasonable price. In my last visit most of my parties fries were stale. Mine were fine but I tried the others and they weren't wrong. The fish were also not good. The waitress asked me how our meal was and I told her. She didn't seem worried about it, so I'm not sure why she asked. We also waited quite a while for food. Not crazy long, but good either. I won't come back. Way too much to pay for a bad experience with mediocre food. PS- I had the Cuban and it was fantastic.

Awesome burgers, beautiful historic building, very nice people. A bit spendy but worth it. Pretty quiet in the early Spring (we preferred it to the opposite vibe at Dark Horse). And they actually have something other than beer to drink. Even the bathroom was cool! Go there!

Our steaks were somewhere between med rare and med. Snow peas and asparagus was perfectly done. And the rice and beans may have been the best I've ever had. $50 dinner, worth every penny. Service was excellent.

After many great experiences at the first location in Jackson, I thought I would have the same great service and food at the Marshall location. Nope. The bear of course is very good, the service not so much, and not just one time. About two months ago I visited on a Sunday, early afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy at all. We had a new server in training and an a trainer. Beer came out quick. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Thinking this was a one time issue returned on Friday, August 18. Place was a bit easier, but still plenty of open tables. Again, the beer arrived pretty quick. Then the wait (burger and a wrap). At one point people seated long after us were getting their food. Finally waved the waitperson down. From my angle she appear to go to the order screen and punched something in. Finally, much later than excepted, we finally got our food. No explanation, no acknowledgment, nothing. In a small town with many good comfort food options I would say maybe go elsewhere.
