Among many great cusines in Detroit, I found this small place right in the middle of the downtown. Even though it looked small from outside, the interior is pretty big. It is very clean and it looked amazing. Decorations were pretty. The waitress was very nice. There was only one person to help, so service was bit slow, but that is not a big deal. We ordered a bunch of mojitos, empanada, and main course. And ofcourse desserts. All the food tasted delicious. I love the plantains and empanadas a lot. It was so good. The flan was very tasty. I haven't ome this good in a while. Overall, loved the experience here. You should try this place, maybe just for their mojitos or empanadas or for the flan.

A taste/feel of Cuba in Motown. Cozy, nicely ethnic, appropriate decor and pleasant overall lighting/ambiance. Sea food dishes (paella for two takes 45 minutes to fix), tres leches cake (on the house on birthdays, thanks!) and the mojitos (favorite: passion fruit) are delicious. Live, Afro-Cuban music on weekend evenings. Excellent service.

What a great place! Stopped in after work on a Wednesday night and was able to be seated quickly. The waiter was super nice and helpful with the menu. I had the Pollo a La Diabla which was fantastic. It could have been spicier but the flavor was just perfect. Absolutely recommend!

We have been at Vincente's multiple times. This was our first time back in a couple of years. We got the calamari and tamale for appetizers and they were delicious. We loved the arroz con pollo, beware it is spicy. I got the chimmiciurri steak and thought it was really chewy, therefore I couldn't eat it. The passion fruit capirinha and I thought it was super strong. Overall our server was great and their tres Leche was delicious. Would recommend trying it out for sure.

What it lacks in atmosphere/presentation, it makes up in taste. My family and I visited Vicente’s on 4/1/23 around 4:00pm. I understand this it not a popular dining hour! It was very quiet, though it looked like it could be a happenin’ spot! I saw a dance floor and stage, but they look like they haven’t been used in a while. The tables are small and the plates are big. I’ve never understood why places have such small tables and big plates, especially if appetizers and starters are served and not cleared. Really tough to deal with to be honest. The service wasn’t bad, it just seemed like they were still “getting ready.” I feel like if the place is considered open, it should also be ready. The food was absolutely incredible. Honestly it made up for everything lacking. Presentation wasn’t prime but I really couldn’t care after tasting the food! My kids are still talking about it. We loved it so much and tell everyone to go to Vicente’s. All of the food was cooked perfectly- no meat was dry, rice was perfect, sauces were delicious, everything was absolutely fantastic. Across 4 meals, 2 appetizers, and 3 starters, I’d easily give 10 stars on taste alone.

We ate at the bar because we didn't have reservations. It was great. Empanadas were so good I forgot to take a picture. Delicious Ripa vieja. Caesar salad was not very good though. I had a pineapple mojito and my husband had a Cuba Libre. We will go back.

I have mixed feeling about Vincente’s. They excel at appetizers but when it comes to the main event, they falter into the eyes closed test— that is if you closed your eyes you’ll notice everything tastes the same. Much like Market North, it’s more of a late night drinking spot that serves food. For a tapas and drink you won’t get disappointed.

Been here twice. Food was good and service was good. It was little loud inside with lot of people celebrating. However a nice place to dine in

Great food and atmosphere, but the lights in the stars on the ceiling are a bit too bright. Wouldn't prevent me from eating here, but maybe a different spot. Fantastic.

I had a great experience at Vicente's! The tapas and cocktails were excellent, and the location in the belt makes parking a breeze. The appetizers we ordered were delightful, and the cocktails were delicious. The dinner portions were generous. I'm already looking forward to trying some of the tempting desserts on my next visit.

wanted to try something new and i’m very glad i chose vicente’s in downtown detroit. the place is very cool and the food was absolutely amazing. my partner got the steak and it was very chewy and not up to expectation, but the server swapped it out with a different dish and it was delicious. definitely want to come back to try some different foods!

They had some really good salsa music playing here. Nice place but I think ordered the wrong dish. It was a shredded beef dish with white rice, black beans, and plantains. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was their shredded beef. Other than that it was a nice atmosphere and everything else tasted good. I’d like to come back on a day when there’s more people and live music and dancing.

The host left a bad taste in my mouth right off the bat. He was rude and dismissive. But the food and the friendly demeanor of our server, Manuel, definitely made up for that! The food and drinks were wonderful, and I have no idea what it’s called but the liquor in a chocolate shot glass is a must-have!

Staff was friendly but more importantly the food was ultra fast; freshly made within 5 minutes. I ordered Pollo Al Limon. The food was good, the rice despite looking plain still had seasoning in it. The chicken had a bit of a crisp to it and the plantain was fried perfectly. My only real complaint would be that the plantain was so good that only 2 pieces of it seems criminal. The place had a good vibe to it, seemed real family friendly.

Super nice staff with good food. Great location and hours available to come before a game or performance.

We were here for the day, the service was great, the food was good, too little beans, the shredded meet needed to be more shredded instead of thick lacking of fínese. Tapa De La Casa was too small for the price but good, the roasted legs with caramel used onion was like having a ceviche this was my favourite plate at that point.

You come here for great service , delicious drinks and impeccable cuisine . I mean that. Vincentes has been a staple in Detroit for a long time. If you want authentic Cuban tapas , drinks , and a delightful time… this is where you go. I’ve been coming here since I was 17, I’m 30 now 😭

As a vegetarian there were not an abundance of options on the menu, but I didn't except there would be. Stopped in for lunch and the atmosphere was energetic. The service was friendly and prompt. The portobello sandwich was excellent.

Yesterday I went to this restaurant, the homemade tapas and the stuffed potatoes were delicious... the place has a super nice atmosphere... however we ordered a Paella a la marinera and the rice was very disappointing... it had no flavor at all. Yes, it had a lot of seafood but no flavor and the rice had stuck to it, on the other hand yesterday I ordered a Cuban coffee that was super good, so much so that today I returned from Rochester to this place to have another delicious Cuban coffee... however no I had the same luck, apart from terrible service... today they simply gave me a black American coffee 👎

Came here for work lunch. We actually had 2 servers and they were both great. Not sure if one was training the other or bot but they both did well. I had salmon with spinach, rice, and plantains. Everything worked so well together.

Nice ambiance and our server did a great job. He had the whole floor to himself and and he was also the bartender. My friends enjoyed their fresh minty mojitos while I enjoyed a passion fruit Cuba lemonade. Service was prompt and food came out in excellent time. The portions for dinner are definitely filling. The sweet plantains although small are so goooood! The chef/cook brought the food out himself which was cool. We came in for lunch so there wasn't any live music but I can see the stage and the dance floor is ready to go at the heat of a beat.

Had a great lunch here! The croquettes were tasty and the Cubano sandwich was perfect. Abraham, our waiter, provided top notch service. He took our photo and when I told him it was our anniversary, he insisted on getting us a piece of cake, on the house. Please check out this tasty restaurant if in the downtown Detroit area. We stayed the the Element and Aloft and both are within walking distance.

Solid Cuban Cuisine. I normally get the same thing everytime. Not because I don't trust the other options on the menu, but because The Salmon Dinner is the Best. The Salmon itself has a flamebroiled taste!!! Parking is bad in downtown Detroit, so pack your patience. I give the atmosphere a low grade because the music was low and all we heard was people conversations. They use to have a band and salsa classes too. That ended because of the pandemic. The Bartender was cool and attentive.

Yesterday was the 1st time returning to Vincente's since Covid. I've never had a bad experience until last evening. I ordered a lobster bisque to go. When I got home to eat it, I was extremely disappointed to discover that I had a cup of broth. NOT ONE PIECE OF LOBSTER TO BE SEEN. I could have just ordered a glass of lobster bisque to drink. Shame on your cooks for preparing and serving 'juice in a cup'. Just horrible.

Went to Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine before the Red Wings and was blown away. The ambience was perfect! The wait staff were awesome! They gave tasty recommendations and were attentive to our needs. And the Food! Tasty and satisfying. The portions were perfect! They had pretty good Sangria too! Overall impressive! Would highly recommend!

We went for dinner after a show. 6 of us. We love this restaurant. They have the best Sangria. Always great service. All of our food was good, except for the Skirt Steak. It was incredibly chewy and a chore to eat. We asked if it was supposed to be that way. They said no and brought us a new serving. It was exactly the same way. I noticed a few other reviews mentioned the same thing. The calamari are excellent.
