I just went here last night. It was a very chill, cozy, comferable place with chill people enjoying some karaoke. The dance floor was empty but it was a Monday night so I expected that. Im not complaining as I tryed to pick a more chill n less crazy night to go out so it was perfectly chill crowd of people. I didn't have any drinks (I wanted to be safe out alone n driving) but the bartenders along with other staff seemed really nice n enjoying the night as well. This was my 1st time ever at a bar n/or club. It was my also my 1st time throwing my self out there publicly (as in going to a gay event/place since coming out). I was also alone so ya I was feeling very unsure about going out n stoped my self for doing so for a long time. BUT once I walked in, went to a table n just enjoyed the chill vibe listening to the karaoke all that went away fast. I felt welcomed, chilled n relaxed. It was nothing crazy but it was a nice chill few hours of the night spent.

I have been here three times. The first time was a lot of fun with a nice crowd. The second time was only ok, with an assortment of small groups of people who didn't mingle outside of their respective groups. The last time I didn't get past the door. There was a person checking ID's at the door. I had a temporary ID, which the person at the door showed to the bartender. He said he would have let me in till he saw that my temp had expired a week earlier. I understand following the law, but I'm quite obviously a 50 year old man. So either this place has had a problem serving under age patrons and can't take any chances, in which case I don't want to support them. Or the bartender enjoys being kind of a jerk, in which case I don't want to support them. Or maybe both.

Went there twice, figured the first time was just an off night. Anyway, the first time I went, they had a whopping $20 cover charge, what do you get for this? The privilege of going into the club, DJ playing so so music, didn't even stay long enough to finish a drink. I went back a few weeks ago, $40 entry fee!! Oh wow, 2 DJs playing so so music, and a whole other bar not evolved in the so called "event" could have been opened for people not wanting to see DJs for $40 bucks. The overall place is ran down, nothing special to see there. Neighborhood is sketchy and a friend of mine told me after my second visit that his car along with several others got broken into while parked in their so called "patrolled " parking lot. In short, if you are visiting Detroit, do not waste your time or money going to Menjos.

BEWARE .Security guard at the parking lot was extremely rude and really creepy. Because of him alone we will not be returning. We entered a dark building, where we were greeted by the door host. We told him we were new in town and wanted to check things out... all he was interested in was selling us these 3dollar tickets to an enclosed area that was empty.... sooo we headed back to the main dance area, no one was dancing, no floor host, bar boys or DJ in sight...we saw everyone divided into little tight group of friends, even the bartenders were dry.... the bathroom was soooo dark and pretty dirty. We headed out to this tiny outdoor patio area where 6 people sat in silence smoking...his not the place to make friends or have conversation, after that we left to get more attitude by the parking lot security guard. Will not be returning.

They fired Tim. Tim is/was a racist/fetishist with a hard on for belittling staff and being an all around doosh-bag (spelled incorrectly on purpose) but he’s gone now. So I can actually entertain the thought of hanging there again.

Was in town, looking for a dance club. DJ seemed to play music he wants to hear. Nobody dancing and club was kinda full. DJ played obscure music that I never heard, all night. And I have a very eclectic taste in music. So...if you are looking to dance, pick another place.

Went to the bars web page and was happy to see the new years Eve black out party at the R&R. Got there and the employees had no idea what I was talking about. And they were letting women into a "men's leather" bar. Sucked!

A tad bit too "steamy" for my liking, but I suppose that once you get a few in you, you'll have a good time.

This was my first time visiting Menjos 20 yrs after my last visit. We came for "Sizzling Saturdays" to see Raven Divine Cassadine & her cast. The parking attendant made sure we had a safe place to park & kept the lot organized so people could get in & out w/ their cars. There was no cover to get in, which was nice, the DJ was kind of dry though. We were guests of Raven, & she reserved us great seats w/ the perfect view of the performers, & not alot of people around us. I REALLY appreciated that. Raven, Justin, & their cast put on a fantastic show. We'll be back for Sizzling Saturdays, & to see Raven again.

hello i have not been here but it looks fantasticly gay and fun.

Had the best Happy Hour in a long time. The Bartender Alex truly made the difference from it being an ordinary day, to one where I had a great time. The owner Was present and was a great host. It is reasons like I explained that make a business successful.

They charged my debit the next day an extra $5 … I ain’t put no tip down!! I called and ask why the next day they don’t have a reason why. NOT RETURNING

My favorite bar in Detroit. Everyone there is always super friendly (both staff and patrons,) I love their patio, I always have fun on their dance floor, and I feel SAFE in their parking lot! Drinks are reasonably priced and there's always something fun going on there. Love this place.

From NYC when visiting relatives in Detroit, always make a trip to Menjo's since 1993! Great place to dance. Live 10 blocks from Madonna too. Know for a fact she loved Menjo's!

Detroit’s old standby bar dirty lack of attention to cleanliness-friendly crowd -bartenders somewhat rude -this club has been a Detroit icon for over 30 years and would benefit from a complete remodel and a new owner who can invest money into this location

Great layout and friendly staff! A little slow on Sunday night but nonetheless fun! Enjoyed playing pool for free!

Underwear night is a hit or miss, advertising on website is inaccurate, management can be rude at times.

So this was my first time in menjos, i met some new people, i played pool , i went with a darling friend of mine- i had a nice lil time. I didnt know they had a food truck or and ENTIRE S3x shop inside the club 😱 ! Im celibate so i have no need, but it was interesting to see and look around, i had never seen an establishment be so bold💁🏾‍♂️ They also have a mechanical d!ck 😃😂

Small cover fee , No frills but fun finds with a Come as you are atmosphere:) Cracked a few smiles made a few new friends between that n Eagles " can't wait to come back with friends ! I used to go there years ago, FANTASTIC!!! The sound system FABULOUS!!! I am glad it is still happening!!! Barbara, Sterling Heights, by the way I was the only female there-straight- the guys were drop dead GORGEOUS!!! I was out of place maybe in their eyes- still GREAT! I loved every minute. It was raining and the door man carried me in!!

I love this place, it’s a little seedier than the other gay bars in the area but that’s what I like about it!

First off OMG I went here for my 30th I felt 21 all over again men couldn’t keep their eyes of me I recently had a breakup with my ex he was a jerk but I’ll be definitely be attending soon

Great bar where everyone seems to be welcome. I go on Mondays just for karaoke, because its close to home, but everyone is respectful and leaves me be lol The staff are attentive but not harassing.
