This is a nice place to unwind after work or just to grab a great bite to eat....its close to the Detroit River and Riverwalk, which is an added bonus. I usually get the lamb chops, but I chose the Salmon, Veggies of the day and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes and they didn't disappoint as usual. Awesome place!!! Nice atmosphere, perfect for a date night. They had nice R&B music playing, the food was great, service amazing. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

If you haven't been ,it's a must try. They have an amazing atmosphere and wonderful food. It is super clean and inviting. The artwork on the walls are wonderful to look at while you eat. If you ever go in you have to try the pot pie soup, you won't be disappointed!!

Late night dine in. Ordered the wings and greek salad and a drink. Wings lacked flavor and they drenched the wings too much with sauce. Greek salad was not the freshest and drinks were basic. Decor of space was nice, black art was a plus, like that it is a #blackowned business, and pretty cleanly.

The staff was very friendly and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was great and the food was even better!

Stopped in and had Lamb Chops Loaded Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli and it was on point !!! The Loaded Mashed Potatoes were amazing I never imagined that Mashed Potatoes could taste that good. The Lamb Chops were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I have to say that the Broccoli was good too so I am very satisfied and I am going back.

Nice atmosphere here. Service is always a little slow. The food was really good. Only suggestion add menu options to pay at the table with an app perhaps. Beautiful decor and able to socially distance.

I enjoyed the food and service. But what I did not like is how they automatically add 18% gratuity to your check without you being aware. There was no sign posted, nor was it listed on the menu. This is something that should be communicated before being served. For the price of the food, the quantity was small

Visited Detroit for the first time and this restaurant was recommended. Excellent customer service our waiter was an absolute gentleman. The ambience was very chilled and relaxed. The art work on the walls were absolutely beautiful. The wings are A+ our drinks were a bit too strong for our liking but you get your money's worth. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if ever you are in Detroit.

I mean I've heard a lot about this place but it was not at all what it's hyped up to be, we sat at our booth an there was food and napkins on the floor under the table. There was food crumbs on the seats an greasy finger prints on the back rest of the leather seats so I had to wipe it down myself, you could see the dried towel marks on the table, sitting there just felt sticky and dirty to me. It was not crowded at all it was more employees than it were diners, it took a long time for our drinks and food. Our food was just sitting up in the window for about 10 15 minutes until our waitress picked it up thankfully it was still hot,. The coleslaw there is not stored at the right temp. Cause it was warm and it smelled spoiled and it was purple instead of white like coleslaw's color is supposed to be. The tarter sauce also had a funny reddish or orangish looking color instead of white I just don't know. The Waitress was very pretty though if that helps, I will not be going back to this place.

This was a great experience. We went on a Friday night. The live DJ definitely contributed to the vibe, with age appropriate tunes. The crowd was over 30, so everyone was in chill mode. It had that "Cheers" vibe, where people genuinely enjoyed one another's company. Our server was quick and attentive, made great suggestions and everything we ate was hot, fresh, and delicious. We even hung around for dessert. Oh, and the original artwork is a sight to see, its amazing! They Say definitely deserves 5 stars. Thanks for a great experience, we'll be back!

The Cajun Fettuccine Alfredo sauce was delicious and the spice was at the perfect level. The salmon was tender, juicy and seasoned to perfection. The buttery dinner roll was sooo good and the service was great!

Food was okay and as you can see by the picture the sweet potatoes weren't too good.

I ate here at this restaurant and everything was perfect until…The sodas… they were the worst thing I’ve ever tasted and it wasn’t like it had no syrup it had to much of it. I’m literally on the toilet where I almost painted my pants, toilet, sink ,car seat ,and dad light brown with the most disgusting smell. If you don’t want a new paint job on something DONT DRINK THE SODAS!!!

Today's lunch took me to They Say very barsy feel to it but very nice and clean restaurant. I went with the Catfish, fries and coleslaw and I must say it was delicious. Wish the breading for the catfish had a little more spicy but that's just personal preference. But I do recommend this mom and pop style bar/restaurant.

Really great service! The food was really good. My salmon was a little dry but next time I’ll ask for remake. Overall, and really great eating experience. Beautiful ambiance! Attentive server! 8/10 I definitely will be retuning

First time here and I really enjoyed myself, good food and a great atmosphere !!!

The last 2 times I ate at they say the food was delicious. Recent trip I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and it was the best I ever had. I know it's just salad but damn it was tasty. Previous I had the fried shrimp and was shocked at how hot and tasty it was also. I normally don't do many reviews but had to shout out the kitchen at They Say.

I'm a wing connoisseur/snob, and this place makes great wings. Most restaurants seem to get them wrong in some really basic ways, but They Say had perfectly moist and juicy chicken wings with a satisfyingly crunchy skin (no cheap breading here!) and flavorful sauces. The key to good chicken wings is to simply execute them well and let them shine... and that's exactly what They Say does! My wife got their fried chicken sandwich and it was great as well. The fries and Mac and Cheese were also solid. The atmosphere is really great and the service is friendly and awesome. Looking forward to coming back sometime soon!

Party of 8, no wait and got seated. Waters and waiter came. I appreciate trying to flex but he didn't write anything down and 1/3 of the orders were incorrect. I was told this picture was blackened salmon with spice.. this food barely had taste. Folks raved about the wings but they were heavily overdressed..... I was visiting Detroit and won't go back there.

They Say is what They Say I place an order for lunch with them pick up and went back to work Sat down and when I Say I enjoyed my sandwich 🥪 ☺️ 😌 and had me wondering about the inside of this place. So me and my friend DeAndrew went on a late night trip over there 🙂 🙃 the Atmosphere was nice drinks was ok but we really enjoyed the wings that was nice fresh and hot, as we waited on our foot 🙂. DeAndrew had a chicken sandwich 🥪 with fries he so it was made just right and I know it was he a picky eater 😉 and I had the Salomon 🍔 wit sweet potato fries 🍟 mind u that was the first time trying one and baby when I Say I enjoyed every bit of it 😀 if u in Detroit Michigan this is a must go place for what They Say..... sorry I don't have any pictures 😬

Food was good, but not specular. Service was a bit slow with several items missing from the order. Never got my Long island ice tea. I am assuming with the shortages in staffing these days may have played a part. I still tipped the waitress very well because she was doing her best.

I had not been here in years. They are hosting a Thursday "Open Mic" night in the upper floor. It was great, the staff was attentive, food was delicious, and the show absolutely entertaining. Kudos to J. & Peace Bell comedy and poetry.

The food was pretty decent and hot/fresh. Went later in evening and tables were available. However we had to wait 30 minutes before they would take food orders because the kitchen was backed up. Our waitress was very nice and engaging. The rib tips and fried Turkey chops were really good. The rice pilaf is very bland.

Very busy place! The bartenders were amazing. We just had sides and drinks, but everything was delicious and the drinks were very generous. Highly recommend.

Our waiter was amazing! I wish I had caught his name. But the food was not good. NOTHING was seasoned. We had a variety of dishes at our table and NOTHING was seasoned. Just way to bland for my liking especially for soul food.

Dinner was excellent! The Cajun Chicken Pasta was fabulous. The customer service was good.

I love the chicken with signature sauce, I would have gave 5 stars but they need to figure out a shorter wait time for carry out.

This is it. This place is great. I love the food, portion sizes, the staff, and the overall experience... this my second time this week getting there food and I’m sure I’ll be back tomorrow! This the best food in this area. And I’ve ate at a lot of different places and this has to be the best, and the closest. It was fine but lacking certain dressings like vinaigrette Not many healthy choices in that department. If you just wanna chill in the ambiance of others, They Say it is a spot. Just remember that American Food Bar and Grill is just what it is. Expect no more no less and you should be fine...👌🏿👍🏿
