Wanted
a
change
of
pace
in
celebrating
my
husband's
50th
birthday
...
So
instead
of
going
to
The
Whitney
,
I
made
reservations
for
the
"Properly
Attired"
The
London
Chop
House
.
We
were
greeted
with
a
smile
by
Darrell
the
Door
Man
and
went
downstairs
to
the
cozy
restaurant.
We
then
were
escorted
to
our
table,
a
lovely
quiet
corner,
all
the
staff
saying
Happy
Birthday
as
we
passed.
They
even
wrote
a
little
Happy
50th
Birthday
card
for
him.
After
a
nice
cocktail
of
a
well-balanced
Gin
Collins,
a
Southern
Belle
Martini,
and
warm
in-house
made
wheat
baguette,
we
started
with
the
Smoked
Roasted
Pork
Belly
-
it
set
the
tone
of
the
whole
evening;
the
appetizer
was
like
butter.
We
followed
it
up
with
the
Birthday
Mr.
having
the
Australian
Double
Cut
Lamb
Chops
with
a
side
of
Bernaise
and
me
with
the
28-day
Dry
Aged
Boneless
Ribeye
with
a
side
of
Au
Poivre.
Both
were
cooked
in
Garlic
&
Herb
Butter.
We
shared
the
Roasted
Brussels
sprouts.
I
admit,
I
decided
to
go
out
on
a
limb
because
in
NEVER
had
dry-aged
steak
before,
and
am
not
into
gamey
flavors.
BOTH
proteins
were
like
the
aforementioned
pork
belly
-
so
silky,
luxurious,
and
like
butter.
I
think
I
cried
on
my
first
bite.
I
even
tried
the
chops...
I
really
liked
it
(and
I
don't
like
lamb
in
general).
We
finished
with
the
their
luscious
version
of
Carrot
Cake,
complete
with
buttered
bourbon
sauce
and
sizzling
carrots.
Yes,
folks,
light
airy
Buttercream
makes
it
all
awesome.
So
happy
to
have
had
this
culinary
discovery.
The
Mr.
was
quite
sated...
And
I
was
judged
by
a
cat
in
a
hoodie
at
the
end
of
it
all.
TY,
London
Chop
House
for
a
most
exquisite
experience.
