From the moment you arrive you feel the vibe!! The valet service is top notch!! The atmosphere is classy and you “should” dress accordingly! The food is so flavorful and delicious!! I ordered the lamb chops and they were good not the best I’ve had but definitely good! For an appetizer we had the crab cake it did not disappoint and don’t get me started on the fish and scallops!!🔥 and I don’t even eat scallops but the flavor was on point!! For dessert we had the carrot cake warm and vanilla ice cream and it too was delicious!! Our waitress was very attentive at the beginning and then it seemed as if she just forgot about us at times!! Even walking past the table a few times without checking on us! So, that’s what made what should have been a 5 a 4!! Oh!!! And one more thing the best thing I tasted all night was the French onion soup.. the flavor was rich and it was just touched my soul!

One of the best old school, white tablecloth, rat pack era steakhouses you can find. Service is great. Love the bartenders. Live jazz no cover. Steak is delicious. Get those oysters bc they will not do you wrong. Smashed potatoes and mushrooms.

A classic old style feel restaurant. It takes me back to a classic fine dining experience. Without the pretentious attitude from the wait staff. Our service was awesome. We loved our experience here. The feed was fantastic. They had a two piece musical set together for the evening. It was lovely. The feed was really good!! Their crab bisque and peach cheesecake- a must try for anyone!!!!

One of the best steaks I've ever had! We split the 32oz Porterhouse and it was great. Drinks were good, nice atmosphere and cool cigar lounge. We will definitely be back

The Most Romantic Experience. My S/O and I celebrated our fifth year anniversary on 8/5. I was contacted the day of the reservation to confirm and hostess was professional and very nice. We were greeted upon arrival and I was escorted from car to door. The valet was quick and easy and the food was SUPERB. Not only was this experience professional and hospitable; it was also thoughtful. We received a small card from the restaurant wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The band was also a beautiful touch to this restaurant’s atmosphere. It was more than dining, this was an experience and we really enjoyed our special night out.

Wanted a change of pace in celebrating my husband's 50th birthday ... So instead of going to The Whitney , I made reservations for the "Properly Attired" The London Chop House . We were greeted with a smile by Darrell the Door Man and went downstairs to the cozy restaurant. We then were escorted to our table, a lovely quiet corner, all the staff saying Happy Birthday as we passed. They even wrote a little Happy 50th Birthday card for him. After a nice cocktail of a well-balanced Gin Collins, a Southern Belle Martini, and warm in-house made wheat baguette, we started with the Smoked Roasted Pork Belly - it set the tone of the whole evening; the appetizer was like butter. We followed it up with the Birthday Mr. having the Australian Double Cut Lamb Chops with a side of Bernaise and me with the 28-day Dry Aged Boneless Ribeye with a side of Au Poivre. Both were cooked in Garlic & Herb Butter. We shared the Roasted Brussels sprouts. I admit, I decided to go out on a limb because in NEVER had dry-aged steak before, and am not into gamey flavors. BOTH proteins were like the aforementioned pork belly - so silky, luxurious, and like butter. I think I cried on my first bite. I even tried the chops... I really liked it (and I don't like lamb in general). We finished with the their luscious version of Carrot Cake, complete with buttered bourbon sauce and sizzling carrots. Yes, folks, light airy Buttercream makes it all awesome. So happy to have had this culinary discovery. The Mr. was quite sated... And I was judged by a cat in a hoodie at the end of it all. TY, London Chop House for a most exquisite experience.

The food was great! We got the filet mignon Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and it was delicious! I was so in love with it I asked for more to go. They are extremely expensive but so worth it. The appetizers are good too but the last thing is the dessert was good just not the best I feel they need more options. My husband had a peach cobbler pie cheese cake and he had to drink coffee to balance it out he enjoyed it just not as much as the entree which again was HEAVENLY!!! I only wish I took a picture of my entree but I took a picture of the desserts and my appetizer.

The London Chop House never disappoints!!!! From the moment you arrive and are greeted by Dorian the doorman, you are transported to another era when fine dining was unparalleled. Delicious food is served by an attentive server, and Bjorn, the General Manager, checks to ensure everything is to your satisfaction. It is truly one of my favorite places. The history is evident and it's a "don't miss" when in Detroit.

We had an amazing time. This was our first time dining and everything was impeccable. Outside of a little wait to be seated the overall experience was one to remember. The classic design with what looked to be original wood and the lovely leather booth we were placed in while the John Paxton Quartet sounds played us to our table. Our server Erica was so pleasant and attentive, even offering very good recommendations from the menu. The food was delicious and each bite was just as good as the first. We started our evening with a wine from their list options, we were offered a wine and beer list as well as the cellar list. Our order was taken promptly and the timing between each course was perfect. We began with the Shrimp Cocktail and Calamari. Followed by a Cesar salad and Burrata and mozzarella with arugula. Lastly the pièce de résistance was the Porterhouse and King Crab legs. Each bite was 'melt in your mouth good'. I think it's safe to say our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomachs, but it was worth it. 10/10 definitely would recommend. Looking forward to our next visit

We went here last night for our anniversary. Timothy was our server and was phenomenal. He took our picture, was very attentive and was very knowledgeable. We both had dry aged ribeye’s and asparagus and garlic mashed potato. We will definitely go back- the atmosphere was amazing, and Clair in the cigar bar upstairs was great!

A thoroughly enjoyable, classic steakhouse. The hor d'ouvres are excellent, sides are outstanding, and our steak was perfection. Just the right kind of atmosphere - comfortable, classy, live music at just the right level so as not to interrupt conversation, attentive wait staff, and an appropriate level of Covid precautions. An extremely satisfying evening.

What an experience! From the parking, to the hostesses, to the servers, everyone here is absolutely amazing! Especially the doorman! The atmosphere is elegant and the food is exquisite. There is also a cigar lounge in the building (which I didn't know), but it does not interfere with your dining experience.

This place is absolutely amazing!! The food was top tier! I tried the veal for the first time & it was chef’s kiss!!! The Mac & asparagus was great as well. The overall atmosphere was great for every occasion. They also had a live band playing Jazz music which was a nice background noise. They also have a cigar lounge upstairs. I will most certainly be back!

We picked this restaurant last minute to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed! From the doorman to the hostess to the waitstaff everything was 5 star! The food is amazing. The filet and the ribeye melted in your mouth and was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed caviar for the first time and it was delicious! Ericka was our waitress and was very knowledgeable about the food, drinks, and even the history of this restaurant. Barbara Streisand was discovered here and Frank Sinatra used to sit at table 2 every time he came in. We will be back and if you haven’t been here then it’s a must stop!

London chop house is a must visit when dining in Detroit. This was our first time dining there and yes we will be back. What was awesome: foie gras, atmosphere, service…what was good but not great the filet. I’ve had steak all over the world and would rate my steak a 6/10, the steak was a bit too charred (asked for med rare), flavor was on the bland side but the sauces made up for it, because the steak was over cooked it wasn’t as tender as I’d like a filet to be. I think a smoke like flavor would add a tremendous lift to the steak. Surprise and delight was the jazz band that played thru the night. We had tickets for a show so could stay long. We will definitely visit but may only get the foie gras.

As a first time visitor to London Chop House Ive attended similar places [like Capital Grille] that I have frequented in other cities however this establishment takes food and service to the next level. Our waiter Timothy did an absolute phenomenal job catering to our needs, was extremely personal and helpful with ordering off of the food and drink menu, and was overall an enhancement to our dinner experience. Attending dinner with some customers, my colleague and two of our guests all enjoyed appetizers (which included the Caesar, wedge salad, and mozzarella) then afterwards for a meal we each had the steaks - The other guests having the filet and myself having the New York strip, which was absolutely melt in your mouth. Besides we had the scallops, the mac and cheese, and the brussel sprouts. Absolutely phenomenal. For dinner myself and one of our guests had the cheesecake apple pie and it was absolutely next level, as well as the Christmas drink and I had the port. What a great way to top off the meal!

What an absolute gem of a steakhouse!!! Amazing service, incredible atmosphere. The food was perfect. Our server Pete knows Detroit history as well as the history of the restaurant. The Mac and cheese was super rich and flavorful and the prime steak was top notch.

Haven't been here since before the pandemic until last night (11/18/23) to celebrate with a friend for her birthday. Ericka was our server & she was great! Jillian, the manager, accommodated a request we had with no problems. The entertainment was great. We had a table close to the small stage with a live band & were still able to converse & hear one another speak. The food was really good. The bartender made the perfect French 75 cocktail. The valet was great. The doorman was great. I literally don't have a single complaint. 😋

Though my family had their gripes about their orders, one person stating the chicken entree they ordered was too small of a portion and two of them saying their steaks were over cooked, which was just honestly due to ordering a well done temperature, I absolutely loved my food and would recommend them. I ordered the lamb chops (medium temp.) and for the table we chose their mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and asparagus…all of which were are a 10/10. For dessert I ordered the cheesecake, also delicious. Overall everyone thoroughly enjoyed the live music and ambiance and personally, I will definitely be returning soon!

We dined here last night as we were celebrating my partner's birthday. The greeting at the host station was friendly and welcoming and included a personal and beautifully printed birthday card for the birthday boy. We were then led to a great corner table where it was quiet but also gave us a view of the entire dining space. However, the best surprise was that Lola was our server. She is the consummate server for an upscale steak house such as The London Chop House because she's knowledgeable, professional yet friendly and attentive to every detail of the meal. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, perfectly prepared steaks, tasty side dishes and two magnificent desserts (the chocolate cake and the cherry sorbet). Totally scrumptious...every bite and taste. So, when you want to dine and not simply "go out to eat ", then make a reservation here and be sure to request Lola. You will definitely have a memorable experience.

Great service. Make sure you make reservations and dress appropriately. Valet is $12. The valet staff are very charismatic gentleman. Wait staff, hostess, bartenders and live music was awesome. Bathrooms were very clean. Great ambiance. Nice place to go for a Celebration or to just hang out at the bar 🍸Average cost about $100 per person. 20% gratuity charged for 5 + people and must all be paid for on 1 bill.
