This is one of my friends fav spots. So after leaving another restaurant we weren’t happy with she suggested here. We wish she had in the first place. When we step in the door the warm welcome was so inviting! The energy in there was awesome! We sat down and started ordering all kinds of drinks off the menu. Every drink we had was good! My salad and shrimp Alfredo was flavorful and tasty. I don’t eat pork but my friends pizza and pasta smelled and look delicious! Im definitely going back soon to take my husband.

Had a great lunch and some nice cocktails. We sampled the preset cocktail menu and found several gems, padticularly That's Amore which was a blend of unusual and innovative flavors. Food was all well above average and obviously made with time-tested recipes and high levels of care. Restaurant was obviously short staffed (who isn't?) but it did not show in the service as the staff was attentive and pleasant. A great find in a great city.

Great place to get a fun & tasty lunch. Larry was awesome and served up the best drinks while being able to keep customers feeling very welcomed. The limoncello wings are a must.

Even though they were extremely busy the staff especially Brenna were amazing. The GM was very aware and engaging with all customers and helping where he could. Hands down best meal we had in Detroit!!!!!!

Great little place in downtown Detroit. Classic Italian flavors and dishes. Nice atmosphere, open kitchen, large bar. The food was good well seasoned and balanced. I had the stone fired pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly, had the stone fire texture with out a ton of scorched marks on the bottom. The pizza options are more classic with a some American styles as well.

La Lanterna is one of our favorite places to eat in Detroit. The pizza is delish, as is every other dish we have tried. Whether you are sitting outside watching people hang out in Capitol Park, sitting at the bar or at one of the limited tables your service will be outstanding.

The seafood pasta was flavorful and delicious. The calamari as an appetizer was a great choice and I would definitely get it again. The only issue was some loud patrons sitting at the bar going crazy and yelling during the Michigan/Michigan State Football game.

Slow service, with staff standing around. Seemed like younger staff issues so not terrible but still. Food was serviceable just not memorable pizza. Nothing about it inspired even though it was executed well. Great bartender though.

Fantastic Ristobar-esque atmosphere. The drinks were creative and well executed. The Food was served quickly, and was delicious from start to finish. My only critique is that the pasta menu seems to rely heavily on butter and sage as key flavors. While each dish on its own was a work of art, after trying several they seemed mildly repetitive. Overall fantastic experience! We will certainly have to return in order to give a more balanced review.

The meatballs 🫶😘😘😘. Had dinner last night and let me tell you!!! Everything from the margarita, to the meatballs, to the pizza, to the pasta was perfectly delicious. The pasta sauce was light yet so rich. The pizza crust was airy and light and they allowed me to substitute pesto for pizza sauce. I will definitely be returning at some point when in the area😋.

Their wings and blackened chicken were yummiest! Crispy and flavourful. We liked everything we ordered except the pizza which was irony because its a pizza place! Rest all were good!

I drove 35 min to La Laterna to give it a try after hearing good reviews. Paid my $10 to park nice and close to the restaurant. After attempting to order a gluten free pizza I learned they were “out” of the crust. Then furthermore learned they haven’t had it two months. Their menu clearly states they have it. If it’s been two months, it’s time to update your menu. I’d like my $10 back that was wasted.

We first tried the limoncello wings. We heard they were good and exceeded expectations. Then had Petto di Pollo Arrosto and Petto di Pollo alla Parmigiana for the main course. The Pollo Arrosto chicken was moist and the sauce was incredible. The Parmigiana was big enough to serve two people and just as good.

I enjoyed a Lunch with a friend of the family. Wonderful experience, love the different pictures of Italy. I ordered Calamari and expected opposite of what I received. The dish over-delivered in taste, presentation, and after-taste. Both pizzas were well made and “Perfecto”. I highly recommend this spot to anyone that wants to w joy a good lunch dinner, and a good cocktails

My girlfriend and I had an excellent Saturday night experience at La Lanterna. The staff was professional and the manager was actively checking in with guests. The food was delicious yet simple. Will definitely be back for more.

I would give this zero stars if I could. The hostess was letting people just take tables. There were groups of people waiting outside that the tables should have gone to. Then after an hour and a half of waiting we got seated. Sat at our table for 30 minutes without a waitress or menus. Went inside to the bar to order drinks and was informed the OWNER was supposed to be our server. The owner avoided eye contact with my table the whole night since the other server took our table since no one helped us after 45 minutes. The server was pleasant but the overall NEGATIVE experience overshadowed the evening.

A great Italian food restaurant. I had cheese, ravioli, and a veggie pizza. Both were incredible. I loved the ravioli sauce. It’s full of butter very unique and definitely worth a try. Seating is very limited and tight. Very small restaurant, gets pretty loud too. Service is great. No free parking on premises. You need to find roadside parking or parking garage. Food is a little expensive.

Service was incredible. The meatballs and the calamari were the best I have ever had. Tried an Italian Mule for a drink, and it was so refreshing and delicious! We sat outside which was great on a summer day. Highly recommend this place - I can’t wait to come back and get pasta and pizza!

The La Lanterna Chop Salad was quite delicious and the Spaghetti Con Frutti Di Mare was one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. But, my goodness, this restaurant is LOUD and on the night we were there the waitstaff seemed short-staffed and overwhelmed. Definitely go if you’re okay with a noisy atmosphere - the food is divine.

Great place for an Italian dinner night out! Food was amazing as was the wine selection. Everything was delicious especially the Tagliatelle oh Passillo! Slightly cramped/noisy atmosphere but amazing service and friendly staff :)

Food was good, service was decent, atmosphere ok. Problem was value. Portion sizes are pretty small for the pricing. Good food but very overpriced.

This was my first time going but such a lovely place! The bartender was attentive but not overly so and knew how to make people smile, also made a delicious drink. Food was fantastic as well, I had the ravioli with chicken.

Pizza was delicious - it has that perfect fluffy, slightly flour-y crust, and the toppings tasted high quality. The service was mid-level at very best. There were only four total customers in the restaurant including us, and the food still took 45 minutes to get to the table. How long does it really take to cook a pizza? I got the Rocket pizza, which as an arugula lover was EXCELLENT. They aren’t kidding about that spicy olive oil - it leaves the perfect amount of fire in your mouth after each bite! However, the Margarita pizza was alright, but nothing to write home about. The pizza was definitely worth the trip into the city, but hopefully the service improves.

Went with a handful of friends for dinner and the place had a great vibe. It's a cozy place and was fully packed. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered food but had to wait roughly 20 mins to get the food. That was quite a wait for a cozy place. Our food was delish and we enjoyed the dinner.

Great food and an even better staff, the host could have very easily turned us away because the kitchen was closing and she got us seated right away. Our server was great and informative. The bar had closed and we didn’t realize it but the host was able to grab us a couple beers! Thank you for the hospitality and great food on a dime!

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this place. We had to wait a while to be seated but my group was sure glad that we waited. The staff were really awesome people that made us feel like family from the minute we sat down. They gave us some good laughs and some amazing service. My group half ordered the lasagna and the other half the chicken Parmesan. We can eat and we were worried the portions wouldn’t be enough to fill us up. Well we were pleasantly surprised at the portion size. We all left full. All 6 people in my group thought the sauce was the best we had ever had. What made the meal even better was the price, it was reasonable for what we got. This place is a must stop for anyone in the Greek Town area. I don’t visit Detroit often but next time I do I will be going there again!!!

This restaurant is awesome. Our server, Katelyn (hopefully this is the server's name - it was on our receipt), was one of the nicest and most pleasant servers we've ever had. Hopefully management recognizes her hard work and rewards her. The food is delicious. The meatballs and pizza were outstanding.
