The atmosphere and drinks were great, I definitely go back for a drink. The food however was very lacking. The burger tho it looked great, tasted like it didn't even know what seasoning or flavor was. It was so devoid of like any flavor that it was like it was from a universe in which flavor did not exist. I was greatly displeased with my meal and would not be willing to risk a chance on anything else on the menu if they can get a burger right.

The ambiance and food selection changed dramatically since the remodel. You have to make reservations. The service was great. The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered lasagna and the chips and dip. Not nasty but won't be back. When I spend my money I want to leave feeling satisfied not bamboozled. Giving 2 stars because of the quality service.

I visited for lunch during my work break; it was not over crowded. We sat at the bar and had a drink first - by choice. The bar is huge and beautiful. We were seated in the lovely atrium which is visually spectacular. The natural light offers a comforting relaxing vibe. I ordered the dry aged-burger which was very filling and the caramelized onions made it extra flavorsome. I recommend this restaurant for location, service and because my lunch was scrumptious. I also like that I can see the chefs cooking and interacting with each other. If you work downtown, you can catch a quick bite here and still make it back to work on time.

This place is for sure a must try on your list!!! We took 3 of our server’s recommendations and we loved it!!!! The menu can be hard to understand if you’ve never been before so don’t feel bad if you need explaining. We had to get our server to break it down for us. And we had someone at the bar who was training to be a server - who by the way was FANTASTIC!!! - and gave us the411 on the dishes and what was what. The dishes were Amazing!!!! Every single one of them!!!! We had such a great time. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great service. Great place. I hope to come back next time I’m in Detroit.

All I have to say is WOW! For the first week being reopened I genuinely loved the atmosphere and food! Yes minor tweaking is needed but on the scale of other restaurants downtown, Townhouse really is about to set the level for Detroit. They truly strive to listen to any feedback given and I’m excited to see where this place will be in 6 months! The prices are extremely reasonable for the small bite experience that is available here as well the shareable items on the menu. This is a place where you can have an upscale experience without feeling like you’re going to spend your life savings on for a good night out. The most expensive item on the menu is $69! I was very pleased with my experience tonight and will definitely be returning! Detroit watch out! Townhouse really is about to change the dining experience here downtown! Consistency is key and Townhouse and P+P strive for plates to be plated, same way every time! Say what you want, but this is the game changer. Also… the Michigan Cherry dessert… show stopper! Fully edible and with gold leaf?! Say what?! They really dropped the mic with this one 🔥 if anyone talks badly on a newly reopened establishment, then they truly don’t know the food industry or are just a food blogger looking for free food! Highly recommend a try here while downtown!

I dined here last night, second time coming in since the renovations. The first time I came, I sat at the bar. Both experiences were fantastic, the service was top of the line. I enjoyed thier drink menu, both the wines and cocktails are fabulous. Last night, I had a few shareable moments. Highly recommend getting a few of those with a cocktail, followed by dessert. The ambience was very relaxing, the remodel brighten up the place a lot.

I came in for truffle fries only to learn that the menu is totally changed. My friends and I enjoyed delicious cocktails and the cucumber and cauliflower shareable dishes. The dishes were creative and totally unique and absolutely outstanding. The service was knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The live music was the perfect holiday touch. Highly recommend.

First... let's start out with the restaurant itself...."Captivatingly Beautiful".... everything is very upscale and top tier.......The experience Is Memorable....... now the food on the other hand...👎👎👎👎..... The $70 steak!!!! I was sooooo disappointed!!!!!! It wasn't even a prime cut of meat. Really Townhouse????? That alone knocked off 3 stars.... yes we come out to have a great time in an exquisite environment but we also come to EAT.... Lets not forget the mission!!!

It’s a beautiful space. Has indoor and covered patio seating. The food was delicious. Definitely up there in price but you’re also definitely paying for the experience with your meal. No regrets.

The ambience is top-notch, inside and out; it's a preview of what to expect from the service and the menu. My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary with an Amazing Brunch. Our Server was Patrick S. He was very helpful with menu selections and beyond thoughtful with a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary! Patrick made our experience very memorable along with the best DJ I've seen in a long while. A++ EXPERIENCE! Our Selections: All Amazing! Latte Drop Top Wontons Dry-Aged Burger (champagne)

Attentive waiters, nice atmosphere. The meal was honestly very good. The beef was very tender and flavorful, and the fries fresh. The Julia dessert super delicious as well. Would return and would most certainly recommend.

It was a great experience! Great service! The food was great. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the raw wagyu beef and it was amazing. My salmon was cooked to perfection.

We used to love Townhouse, we’ve been there several times over the years. They used to have a great food menu, drinks and service. This was our first time visiting since the renovation. Service was still great, but they’re trying way too hard to be fancy. The menu is annoying, as it doesn’t tell you what anything is. So the server had to explain every single item. For example, big eye tuna is sushi, but it doesn’t say sushi on the menu. Crab is a crab salad, but just says crab. Pretentious and annoying. Drinks were good, food was good but not worth the price. We won’t be back. Save yourself some time and take your money to Grey Ghost or one of the other better choices downtown.

After a day of shopping Downtown, we casually dropped by and found room for 2 at the bar area. We quickly realized that everything changed inside as the decor was modern, relaxing, and classy! The vibe was just great, and staff at the bar area were very friendly, and inviting. The menu was very simple, and made it very convenient. It had a lot of our favorites on one page so it wasnt complicated to order. It felt like many meetings were set, with many people to decide on each of the flavors in each of the plates we had because everything seemed well thought out. We just appreciate the passion, and commitment from the staff to give is that kind of experience! We tried almost all of the menu. By the way, for $537 you can order the entire dinner menu which is something to think about if you're 4 people looking to really eat. Honestly it was such a nice experience that we went home feeling like we went on vacation. Dwayne, and Joel made us feel like we we're family. It was a great vibe there and I totally recommend it!

This restaurant was definitely the best place I’ve been too. Very classy and all of their food was very well cooked. It’s hard to find a restaurant good enough for my whole family to love, but we all loved it

We had an absolutely amazing experience here. Our waitress Classie K. was beyond awesome! She had a fantastic personality and gave suggestions that fit my food and drink pallet perfectly! I HIGHLY recommend eating here. You won't regret it.

Found this place while in town for a wedding. Gorgeous place, drinks were great, food was decent but the service was definitely the best part. Romeo was GREAT. We were already there for a while but I literally could’ve sat there all night as long as he was taking care of us!

Service was great and our waiter Koby was friendly and easy going. Food was delicious as well as the vibes were really nice and good for taking photos. Only downside was it was a bit draft even inside and the food did take a long time to come out. The burger was a bit dry but it dry aged so not sure if that was normal. Overall a good experience and perfect date spot.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary after seeing a reel on IG. Deb was a warm and welcoming host and Chris was an excellent server. The atrium seating felt special, the soundtrack was good, and the cocktails (the Gin drink specifically) were amazing! The food was nice but not extravagant or special enough to justify the price per dish. We left happy that we tried it because it felt special but unsure if we would frequent because it was about $200 for the two of us.

First of all, the ambiance of this place is amazing! It's stylish, elegant, and unique. The location is excellent as it is very close to Campus Martius and many venues. However, the prices are ridiculous. A hamburger was $28, for example. I appreciate fine dining and don't mind spending a lot of money for fantastic meals. This was not that. For this reason alone, I will not go back. Our waitress was excellent, and the cocktail I had was really good.

Great food and service. I loved the lighting. Great mood lighting without being too dark. It is a bit on the expensive side and portion are on the smaller side. Dry aged burger really highlights the dried age flavor and does not have a lot of toppings. Drinks were good and they had a lot of espresso based beverages for after the meal. They have La Marzocco linea PB unit for making coffee.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! If you have a chance to dine at Townhouse, definitely request to sit in Classie’s section. She chose our shareable plates, entrees, desserts and even our drinks. Classier knew what we needed before we did! The atmosphere is relaxing and allows you to enjoy your food through the very last bite. Will not disappoint!

First time in since the redesign. The new design is modern and fresh. The beverages were excellent. The appetizer and salad were nicely presented but lacked flavor. I though the tuna was overcooked and dry. Service was good.

  • 4/5 Chris M. 1 year ago on Google
I ordered the crab salad. Strong presentation 💪. Portion size was minimal and would've preferred more spring greens to compliment the atrong flavor from the caviar-like topping. Kale salad with bone in dark meat chicken quarter was tasty. Portion size was more satisfying. Service was good, but the atmosphere made my experience well worth anything it lacked.

Went to dinner on Tuesday March 8 with my husband celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Our experience was nothing short of outstanding. Courtney Ford greeted us with a warm smile. Our server, Classy treated us like royalty from filling our water glasses to bringing surprise birthday desserts for Kate. Have never had such a wonderful experience. Sherry visited our table to check on us. The new renovations are gorgeous. I can hardly wait to share my fav restaurant with my family and friends. Thank you for obviously employing the best. Our meal was spectacular from presentation to taste. Continued success with your restaurant. God Bless.

We went there for dinner after our engagement, and the experience was wonderful. The service was great, the food was delicious - along with good portion sizes, and the ambiance was very nice. The staff treated us very well knowing it was a special night, and they really went the extra mile. On top of giving us champagne to celebrate, they took the time to put in a “congratulations “ on top of the drink we ordered. I’d highly recommend Townhouse to anyone.

One of the best waiters I had in some time, Kobe did a great job taking care of us, giving us recommendations without being to overbearing. Foods was also delicious and the atmosphere is great after the renovation! Keep up the good work!

The place es great and pretty. I recommend the mimosa trip because you can taste 3 different flavors. The food was delicious and the size is ok. The service was also good and the desserts were amazing.

UPDATE: the owner responded below asking me to reach out in order to be invited back. I reached out and left a voicemail with no response. AND, I tried both of their emails listed on their website. Both emails were sent back as undeliverable. So now, not only did I have a bad experience at the restaurant, but also in trying to communicate. It seems that their response is just empty lip service. Townhouse was my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Detroit...until now. Sadly, I feel that they have ruined it. In the past: I used to LOVE the seating in the solarium and sitting at the bar. The food was delicious and it was portioned properly. NOW: the atmosphere, while beautiful, is like a totally different restaurant. They should have rebranded, because there is nothing remiscent of what it used to be.The solarium has been stripped of it's bar entirely and it seems very sterile, and blah. The food is the most disappointing part of all. The portions are so small, that after spending well over $100 for food alone, my husband and I were so hungry, that we went home and ordered a pizza! That's an absolute disgrace. It feels very pretentious to charge those kind of prices for literally a few bites of food. I will say the service was impeccable and the manager was very nice to us. However, they need to re-evaluate this model.

Inside decor and ambiance were great. The menu is short and was difficult to fully interpret alone but the staff is more than ready to answer questions and provide suggestions. One menu item we ordered we were informed was unavailable after we had placed the order. Presentation and cleanliness were good. The drinks were fresh and flavorful. The food taste was just ok. Both dishes of food I had included elements that were overly charred. A little disappointing at the price point for me. We did shots at the bar to close out the night. Overall, I'd go back again but probably more for drinks than food. My vegetarian sister LOVED her food as a side note.

Beautiful new interior! The updated bar is bigger and better than ever, amazing sound quality and vibe. The menu is simple and everything is delicious… esp the Dry Aged Townhouse Burger with White Cheddar (add Truffle fries). Cocktails are amazing 🥂

Decent service. Drinks are good. Nice space and esthetic. They do not do sides or appetizers. Just full meals.
