Terrible experience! My friend and I ordered elotes and carne asada tacos as shown in the pics. The corn was fine, but the tacos were brought out cold. We sent them back and they brought out another plate that was still cold. We decided to just eat it anyways because we had to get to a concert. However, after eating a couple bites my stomach started hurting so I went to the bathroom twice and the second time I ended up throwing up. The toilets also wouldn’t flush so there was a line. And I had nothing else to eat that day except this food that was cold to the touch. The meat was also dry. The waitress we had was super nice though and she gave me gum because I told her I threw up. I would not recommend unless they work on their food and abide by food safety guidelines.

I hate to leave a review like this but I walked into this place expecting good food. This place is for someone who’s never had authentic Mexican or frankly a good meal in their life. The corn was under cooked, the enchiladas were OVER cooked (probably from the heat lamps they sat underneath all morning), and do not get me started on the weak 8oz $10 margaritas… go somewhere else

Food was okay. But it cost $32.86 for steak fajitas--for one person and it was lunch. Service was horrible. Slow does not define it properly. I was on my way OUT when a waitress pleaded with me to stay, so I stayed. Of course, later an employee walked by me, didn't stop at my table, but blamed service "on the pandemic". Was it worth it? The wait was like Taco Bell only with alcohol!

I had bad expectations because of the low rating but was surprized with the good taste of the food. There is huge room for improvement. Mint was very old and nasty (see photos). Servive was great.

Definitely recommend the carne asada loaded fries and the fried chicken taco is very good. I went with the carne asada wet burrito which as huge portion. Great for hungry eaters. The meat in the burrito was a little well done but still tasty. Try the real cane sugar cokes! Manager was friendly. The waitress was kind but slow to get drink or food orders. If service was faster, I would have rated the experience higher. Overall: A good spot for lunch or a quick dinner in Detroit. However, it's not a must-go-to destination like any of the restaurants in Mexican Town!

Food was good. Nothing amazing here. It was definitely fulfilling. A little bit pricey ($2 cheaper off entrees needed) for what you're getting but not ridiculous. I would eat there again. Decent lunch if you can't figure out what to eat. Staff was ok, bothered me that we couldn't move our seats because servers had sections they were wo. Just a bit weird imo. No major issues. Place was clean. The place is ight. Hopefully that makes it easy to understand.

I’m mortified!!!! Visited Detroit this weekend for a wedding and decided to stop here after a baseball game. What a complete mess! We were told there was a 20 min wait and opted to sit at the bar. While taking our seats an extremely rude bartender yelled to the hostess that she was done taking customers at the bar. The hostess then proceeded to put us at a table, awesome problem solved … ! Not at all! the restaurant is empty! We sit at the table and wait an hour for food and watch the staff continuously just shy away customers and tell them “ we are short staffed.” They funny thing is the rude bartender is sending shots to the kitchen and is drinking at the bar, but the employees refuse to do their actually job and help customers. I feel Bad for the owners, supervision is needed ! Also observed several employees go out for smoke breaks and not wash their hands when they returned. Doesn’t seem like staffing is a problem it seems like the staff don’t want to work. Everything is a long wait because the staff has their own agendas. The food was okay, everything else just brought the overall experience down. Find better people who want to be here. Disappointed!

I’m ok here. Food is good. House margarita is best of all 3 types of margaritas they have.

The staff was short handed, but they made this clear as we were waiting and being seated. Regardless, the service was prompt for most of our visit. These crispy tofu tacos are a great vegetarian option. Prices are reasonable. Food was delicious and drinks were fresh.

Thanks for fitting our large group in today. The food was great. Enjoyed both salsas and the burritos/rolled quesadillas were huge!Tara (pretty sure that was our waitresses name) is a hard worker and running between tables. She made sure our drinks were full and got the kids their food quickly. Will definitely be back when we are in Detroit for another event.

Our waitress was very lovely but the service was quite slow. Food was good but not great, Mexican corn is a must. The wet burrito, shrimp and chicken tacos, and beans and rice were all a bit underwhelming. Needed more spices and less salt. Basil lemonade was very nice.

Great food, great customer service, and wonderful vegetarian options. I had the veggie enchilada and my wife had the Mushroom quesadilla. We enjoyed them both. The guacamole, green and red salsas were delicious.

The server was downright rude to us and the service was terrible! I've worked in food service It's not hard to be nice! The food was the worst "Mexican" food our group had ever had. My rice and fish bowl had the tiniest fish in it!!! It was mostly crunchy cheap lettuce. The steak tacos were chewy and COLD with no flavor. The chips were like out of a bag with no flavor. The rice and beans were also not flavorful. I'd give 3 stars if the server wasn't so rude.

I really like this place! The vibe is usually real mellow and the drink selection has different tasty options. I like their fajitas and the portion sizes. Service is usually good, there was only one visit that we felt we were ignored a bit. Other than that everything is decently priced for being in Downtown on Woodward. It tends to get a little noisy but it didn’t bother my toddler. Love the cool Mexico decor on the wall.

I came here in November, but I had to come back and leave a review because of how great the experience was. The bowls we ordered were like a fancier Chipotle which I really enjoyed. I would come here again if Im craving mexican food. My favorite part was how they stuck to the theme of splitting mexican and texas cuisine. The splitting theme went so deep they even asked me if I wanted to split the bill which I found to be quite charming and helped fully immerse me in the splitting theme.

When I first walked in I loved the decor and the waitress was friendly. So, I was thinking the food was going to be good. No, I was really disappointed. My margarita tasted weird and I couldn't even finish the drink. My chicken tacos were just plain, after 2 bites I was done. My husband didn't even finish his food. It's sad when the rice and beans was the only dish that was good. But I can say the service was fast on a Tuesday and Kia was a great waitress.

Had the blood orange margarita and a frozen strawberry margarita, both were great. I ordered the lunch box (2 tacos with rice and beans) but I wish the tortillas were warm.

Was very pleased with our whole experience today. We were greeted and then seated right away. Was asked it we preferred inside or out. Our servicer came to the table right away. My Margarita was good but enjoyed m y friends pina colada much more. We got chips and salsa to start off with and guacamole also. Wow was that fresh. And it had texture. Not smooth like paste. Real chunks of avocado. We were all three happy with our meals. Nice big portions. All around great dinner.

More towards 4.5 When people think of restaurants taking over Detroit, usually burger gastro pubs and pizza places come to mind. They don't think about the taco scene that's creeping in. This place was one of the earlier ones to come into the city (outside the Mexicantown neighborhood) and has some very solid choices. While it has solid choices, I feel like there could be more creativity, especially now that it has competition. I still highly recommend this place when visiting downtown

This place was great, it was my first time there. The drinks were great they weren't watered down an the food was delicious, nice environment you can eat outside if it's enough staff working. I didn't give a 5th star because my table an seat had crumbs from previous eater,😢 which means they didn't clean good behind them. Overall though a great experience on a nice day check them out.
