I'm not really a curmudgeon but I was totally turned off by the rambunctious staff. The stale chips didn't help matters or the nasty yellow, mango sauce on my pulled pork. There were bright moments... super quick service and portion sizes. It's not a family spot or fit for dining in, but it's doable if your in town for a tiger game and want a cheap bite to eat.

after seeing some ridiculous negative reviews, I felt the need to say that after my third or fourth time here, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here. the people are friendly, the food is great for a great price, especially for being so close to downtown. absolutely recommend!

Me and some friends were riding some scooters Downtown lol Got hungry so we zoomed out to HOT TACO!! (my first time)I got the shrimp Burrito EXTRA sauce & a guava carbonated drink. Burrito came out FAST AND HOT! Within 5 mins it was gone! Not just cause I eat like a Savage but it was Great!! Staff was friendly and the place is nice for a quick bite along the window!

Do you like Hot Tacos? Then you'll love this place! These tacos are so damn good. Honestly to 5 taco places for me. First off they are cheap like a taco is supposed to be. They are sauced up like crazy. Really damn good sauce too. Especially on the chicken tacos but those are a little soggy because of the sauce. For your pick 3 try the pork, chicken and chorizo your first visit. You won't be disappointed.

Meh. I just don't think they are worth the wait. I used to really jam out on their shrimp tacos but the last few times I have come here, it took forever for my order to come out. I'd rather just drive down to SouthWest for authentic Mexican food.

We stopped here before a concert based solely on the location, but we were pleasantly surprised. The food is good; it's a nice, pretty basic taco joint. I tried the steak, hot chicken, and pork (without the mango salsa) tacos and, by far, the best was the pork. All the tacos were great, but the pork was exceptionally wonderful. We also got an order of the queso, which was pretty decent. The place is pretty quick and it was very busy when we were there, which feels like it would be a normal thing. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are only a few tables, 3-4, and two long bars on either side of the door with stools to sit, so seating is very limited. Overall, we really enjoyed the place and will definitely be back when we are in the area. It's right next to (the new location of) the Town Pump.

Great tacos! Fresh, fast, and simple. Cannot go wrong stopping here while you are downtown. Great prices. Got 4 tacos (2 of which were premium) and a bottle soda for $13!

The food is great, cheap & fresh, However the establishment is dark small in the bathroom is definitely not what do you want to go in unless it’s an emergency, but the employees are super cool!!

Not fancy, but not quite a dump. Tacos looked awesome, but just seemed to lack flavored (had the Hawaiian, breakfast, hot chicken, pork, chorizo). Salsa with the chips was watery, but maybe the queso would've been better. Can't complain about the price though!

I’ve been visiting Detroit for work and scouting locations to eat at on Google Maps. What caught my attention about this place was the first photo on Google with the bottle of Cholula hot sauce surrounded by tacos and a burrito. Those tacos look hearty and homemade. I’ve included a photo of what my tacos look like for comparison. Yeah, I know food styling and all that, but if you are looking for gut-busting tacos and burritos this isn’t the place. One of my pet peeves about taco places that aren’t authentic taquerias is that so much of the food is precooked and kept warm. The tacos I had were flavorful, but the lukewarm ingredients and tortillas really lessened their impact and betrayed their name.

Hot Taco is simple, good Tacos. The absolute best, in my taste bud opinion, are the fish and shrimp tacos on corn. Some might say they are overpriced, but to me food shouldn't have a budget.
