They have completely forgotten what customer service is. Covid is no excuse to treat the customer poorly. Response to owner. I tried to order in store and was refused service. Was told I must order online. I informed them I left my phone at the work site and didn't have time to go back to get it to order and have lunch. A manager should have stepped in and taken my order. Also you guys only serve corn bread on your catering menu.

The waffle fries are amazing, the rib tips however contained a lot of fat, definitely were burned, and the sauce has an acquired taste not really that good of a choice for sauce

Wings are super dry and flavorless. Macaroni is decent. Ribs and pulled pork are good. The main issue I have here they're not very friendly, the guy at the front was ok but he was getting frustrated with us asking questions. No buns when you order pulled pork and they wont supply additional plates

My brisket inside of the big 3 was nearly all fat. I took the order back immediately and got something that was basically thrown together. I really wanted to enjoy the meal as I had only went back because of the excellent way the brisket, pulled pork, and the apple wood chicken was prepared. On the second try the apple wood chicken was basically non existent. I was prepared for the same big 3, I had last week at the location on Michigan Ave. What happened...I don't think I'll be going back to the Cass location for a while if ever...

Nice BBQ place. Simple, but trendy interior. Good concept. Smoky taste but nothing special foodwise. The ribs wasn't really tender. Service was "very slows to go"... Price not ok, too expensive for the value.

Use to love slows. I have not been in awhile so I decided to go get a rib carryout. I usually don't go out of my way to leave a bad review but I had to. Service was fine, lady taking my order was super nice. But the food...I got a half slab of baby back ribs, side of beans and a coke. It was $30 which seemed a bit high. The ribs were AWFUL. They were so tough and dried out I couldn't dump enough bbq sauce on them to get them down. The plastic fork they gave me broke trying to cut them. These were really bad for a well known bbq restaurant. Not sure what happened.

I was four hours early to pick up my Christmas Eve Ham, manager was nice enough to expedite my order. Grabbed a beer and waited maybe fifteen minutes for my order. Awesome service and the smoked ham was amazing. Thanks!

Anytime I'm in Detroit I drop by to get some Slows. The sides and meats all taste great, they give you a ton of sauce, and I'm always craving for more.

One of our go-to places for ordering lunch for our small office! The BBQ is really good (my favorite is the pulled pork, though you can't go wrong with the brisket too), but the Mac and cheese is on another level! My coworkers also rave about the mashed sweet potatoes.

Just ate slows for my first time. Food was very good. Brisket was amazing and so was the pulled pork. The Mac and cheese was different than I've had but was delicious had a nice seasoning added to it. The employees were SUPER friendly and polite and that's not something you get as far as customer service these days. They definitely earned a 5 star if I could give them 10 stars I would. Great job and keep up the good work. I will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Asked for more bbq sauce with takeout and was told they cant do that. I asked if i could pay for more sauce and was also told that was not an option. Take my money you dummies! The actual bbq is mediocre at best these days anyways. Used to be good but its dropped in quality over the years

I used to LOVE this place but the food AND customer service has diminished greatly. Prices increased but portions have decreased as well (took away a la carte options). Please bring back the old Togo menu. Please bring back the good ole Slows I knew & loved.

One of our Representatives came in so we decided to do lunch for all of us and our Foreman which made it 16 total. We got it delivered. The delivery guy came to our job site and set everything up quickly and was very professional. Everyone LOVED the food and we had more than enough! Thank you so much for your hard work!

Very disappointed with my meal. Also embarrassed that I took this product back to Illinois for bragging rights. I was throughly disappointed with the taste of everything I ordered. I ordered a half pan of pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken legs, rib tips and a 32 oz of Mac and cheese. Everything lacked moisture, flavor and didn’t taste like it was freshly cooked. I paid over $100 dollars and it was a big monetary loss and bragging rights.

If I don't have time or energy to smoke my own food, I choose slows . Slows to go is just as good if not better than slows sit down restaurant. Best BBQ and Mac and cheese IN Detroit hands down . Great staff . I love this place . 5 stars .

Extremely rude staff. My office had this place catered and I thought it was decent so I visited to place a to-go order and the employee was extremely rude and condescending. I explained it was my first time and I was confused and she just told me I had to do everything online. I walked out to place an order and heard her mocking me to other employees. Absolutely not ordering here.

Went in on a Friday night to order togo, there was no wait to order. Parking available on site, so you don't have to pay to park. Ordered the yardbird, the reason, 16oz coleslaw, 32oz mac and cheese and two pieces of carrot cake, they offer one side of bbq sauce per sandwich. 75$/ including tip. When I got it all home it was good. Only complaint is that they don't offer choice of toast or roll for the sandwiches. By the time I got home my yardbird bun was completely soggy. I still enjoyed it but it could have been better. Inside the site was clean and staff was friendly, food came out very quickly. All in all when I need a Slows BBQ fix this is a good (not great) alternative to the sit down restaurant. Side note to Slows, you all used to offer choice of bread for sandwiches at sit down slows but do not any more. Please bring that back!!!!!! The texas toast was so much better than a soft hamburger bun. Please!!!!!!

We'd hear for some barbecue. The brisket was really good, the ribs. Left a little bit to be desired. However, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice, not the kind of place you want to take to a date and sit down because the seats are uncomfortable but always love their barbecue sauce and will most likely go back.

Used their catering service for an event I hosted for the non-profit that I run. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful. The driver was very friendly, arrived on time, set everything up and made everything seamless. Will definitely be using them in the future! Everyone raved about the food!!

My wife and I met a couple friends at the food truck tonight at Northville Wine. I had the 1/4 slab combo and my wife had the brisket plate. Our friends also had the brisket plate, I ate only a little bit because I wasn’t too hungry. I was the only one from our group that did not get food poisoning presumably from the brisket. Typically we do like Slows but we will certainly be avoiding the food truck from now on.

We hired Slows-to-Go to cater a lunch for a client today. They were so easy to deal with and so helpful with placing our large order. The whole order was correct, labeled and boxed so nicely. The delivery driver was so pleasant. 10/10 experience. If you aren’t using them as a catered lunch option in the city, you’re missing out!

I've been wanting to go here for years. Took a friend from Ann arbor with me. We were both highly disappointed. Waffle fries with cheese were soggy. Barley any cheese and the cheese looked like it was sliced cheese. Rib tips were extremely dry. Was like eating beef jerky. For $22 this was not worth it. My friend took some to his mom and she didn't like it either. Idk maybe I got a bad batch. But experiences like this make customers not return. I probably won't. If I do maybe I'll try the actual restaurant on Michigan Ave.

I used to love Slows. But honestly there are better and more affordable places to get BBQ now. The ribs were dry and tough, the brisket was fine but nothing really special either. The highpoint by far was the Mac and Cheese, although rather expensive for a side it was delicious.

We had Slow's cater our wedding, and we highly recommend them!! We booked Slow's back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding. Josh and his crew remained with us throughout the pandemic during many postponements of our wedding. Josh went up and beyond to make sure that all the details were perfect. He was very responsive, knowledgeable, and personable. He worked with the bartender to make sure all services went smoothly. He and his staff provided topnotch service at the wedding. We knew that the food would be superb and our guests also confirmed this. There were and continue to be MANY comments regarding how delicious the food was. We had a guest tell us that it was the best wedding food they ever had. We wholeheartedly recommend the food and service at Slow's whether it be catering an event or going/ordering for dinner. Thank you Slow's for the up and beyond service for our wedding!

Delicious brisket and Mac and cheese. Brought my 3 kids there, we were just passing by after the Autoshow before going to Canada. Definitely not a place to lunch in or dine in, they just need to add some extra plates and a few more drinks like club soda or juices for kids. Excellent attention from the cashier, can't remember the name but she was super helpful, she explained all of the different dishes, she suggested things for the kids, she's taking care of the business because I will definitely come back for the service and the great food, but just to go.

We catered our sons’s graduation party with Slows and couldn’t have been happier! Andrea was very helpful in assisting us with amounts and recommendations. The food was hot and ready to go from pick up to our serving table. I highly recommend!! Worth every penny!!

The brisket I picked up today was a leftover from yesterday. At pickup, I was attended by a rude guy that didn’t care to add napkins or forks. Had to implore. I had better experiences at this place. My advice? Don’t order at their first hours. around noonish, as you probably will be handed left overs.

I used Slows to cater a holiday party at work and it was a huge hit especially the brisket, it was a crowd pleaser! The sides were great as well sweet potato mash, green beans, cornbread and mac & cheese.

Mac and cheese could be just a little creamier but the brisket and ribs are so tender and flavorful, I don’t even care about that . Totally worth the trip in the snowstorm. This city is so full of dry, flavorless bbq spots, it’s nice to get something actually worth my money.

Slows to go catered our wedding on 11/06. Joshua was such a pleasure to work with during the planning process, he more than alleviated any anxieties we had and every interaction was great. We absolutely loved the food and so did our guests! Slows to go makes a fantastic catering option for weddings - they offer enough to accommodate a wide variety of dietary needs, from gluten free to vegan.
