It was my first time dining at the Harbor House tonight. We had put our name on the list and were told it was a 15 minute wait. We came back in after paying the parking meter, 15 minutes or less later, and were told that since we weren't right there we got skipped. So, we waited right there this time, for 5 minutes, then got seated. Out waitress was named Veronica. We ordered, didn't get our bread till after our side salads were finished, and our food came out 5 minutes later. Once our food came out, I had asked for ranch and our waitress was no where to be found. 10 minutes pass, as my food is getting cold, and we finally got the attention of another waitress to get the ranch. Our waitress brought it out and we didn't see her for the rest of our meal. Never asked if we needed anything, or if we liked our food. When we were done we had to get the attention of another waitress to get our bill because our waitress was MIA. A nice lady brought us a box and we asked her to get the manager. A manager couldn't come to our table because he was too busy. We really just wanted to know why we had to pay a gratuity for a waitress that was completely unhelpful and disappointing. The lady that came out to tell us we couldn't speak to a manager, brought us our bill. Unsure if she was also a manager and if so, why would she tell us we had to talk to a different manager to express our issues? We were told to come back a different day to talk to this other manager. What if we didn't want to come back? Also, still had to pay a gratuity. That's the thing with gratuity added on....servers don't have to do a great job or even a good job, they can get away with doing the absolute minimum. My boyfriend is a server in Detroit, getting a gratuity added on to his tables as well. His boss will take off a tip if his servers aren't doing their job. Food was really good however, so that was a relief. Aside from the neglectful waitress, and mangers, I would recommend the food. Hopefully everyone else will have a good experience.

This is my second time at Harbor House and for a nearly $250 bill for 2, I expected a better experience. It was a busy night, but I expect a restaurant like this to prepare for the crowd. The salmon for my pasta was way over cooked. I could hardly get my fork through the skin. The steak was over cooked as well. Asked for medium and received well done. I even tried to send it back to be recooked and the waiter refused. The waiter (Gary) was extremely rude, impatient, and less than helpful. If he would have been in a better mood, I’m sure I would’ve received better service. He was rushing me to order. Before I could even get a second word out he’s saying “Ok that’s it” and proceeds to walk away while I was trying to continue ordering. No warm greeting, just a bad attitude as if he was ready to go and my presence was annoying him. My only good take away from this experience is that the drinks and seafood gumbo were really good. I don’t see myself returning.

Really great tasting food! Was seated quick on a Sunday. The cooks understand the importance of favor and cooking with spices. We ordered the jambalaya and it was packed with great flavor! Our waitress was the best (Thanks Rai) definitely a must stop!

We had a pleasant experience at our early dinner at Harbor House. Their menu is not overwhelming but offers enough choices to make most guests happy. We started out with the saganaki app, which was larger than many we have had in the past and had a little more flavor than typical. I was looking forward to the Porterhouse steak, but they were out. I settled for the T-bone with the cheese and bacon covered baked potato. I also had a side salad and a cup of gumbo. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium. The potato was very hearty and the salad was very fresh and crisp. The gumbo left me wanting a little more heat from the Andouille, but it was very good also. My wife chose the snow crab and rib platter with he baked potato and salad. She thoroughly enjoyed her crab and said the ribs were very tender yet left enough of a bite. She also enjoyed her blackberry whiskey lemonade. Our only complaint came with the bill and saw "Gratuity" already added into the bill. It was what we would pay for the experience, but directly below that was an additional suggested tip listing for 15, 20, and 25%. Had I not looked closely at the bill, I would have added another $25 to the tip. It just felt a little sneaky to us.

The ambiance was a perfect setting, slightly dark but the food made up for that. The shrimp scampi 😋 and the perfectly cooked lobster🦞 and crab legs 🦀 were cooked to perfection. If you're a seafood lover, you should give it a try.

The food was amazing. We got multiple items and shared them, worth every penny. The atmosphere is great, a bit dark but great. I Highly recommend the NY steak and crab legs!!!

Relaxing atmosphere and great food. Great location for a meal before a Tigers game. Get the deep fried mushrooms. Everything else was excellent. The staff is friendly what more can you asked for in a restaurant?

Lately I’ve been extremely disappointed at some of the restaurants that I’ve gone too , I’m sure (Google) has seen all of my reviews😒!! We Went here over the weekend, BEST STEAK that I’ve had in a very long time😩💘 ,everything was delicious & the server was really nice & went out of his way to make us comfortable. That steak melted in my mouth & was seasoned 🙏🏾.. Hadn’t been in a while & forgot what I was missing 😩 oh & that drink 💪🏾😂I felt great leaving here that night ❤️

10/10 Atmosphere was gorgeous, Our waitress Hannah was so sweet and attentive. Our food came out with decent time, hot, delicious flavors. We got the gumbo, catfish bites, lobster Mac, and the NY strip and lobster tail. Every thing was delicious!!! Drinks were strong. I will DEFINITELY come back.

The hostess was actually delightful however, the waitress was not! We decided to go here for my birthday thinking it would be an enjoyable experience for some nice sea food and it was not! The entire vibe was absolute trash! The restaurant was extremely dark and full of smoke from the kitchen. My eyes were literally burning. Our waitress was extremely short and rushed us while we were trying to order, she didn’t even take our drink order. When the crab legs arrived they were cold and bland (I had to add my own spices to $85.00 crab legs for my husband). After being beyond overwhelmed we decided to just leave. I requested the check, once the check arrived I noticed the amount was much higher than the price on the menu. The waitress also added her own gratuity to our bill although it was only 2 of us eating! Smh… This was a disappointing birthday dinner!

Food was great and fresh! Hats off to the chef! Good music and atmosphere. We just happened to walk by on a Tuesday and I'm glad we stopped in. It was empty in the place but they aren't open on Tuesday normally. I'll definitely be going back.

First and foremost the food we ordered (calamari steaks appetizer, shrimp scampi and porterhouse) was AMAZING! BUT THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED FROM OUR WAITRESS BROOK WAS HORRIBLE! She was not attentive to our needs. Very dry. Never refilled our drinks. Never brought us water. Checked on us once. When we asked for a plate so we could share our meal she seemed confused and had a bit of an attitude. She cleared dishes off other patrons tables but left ours a mess for the other pleasant employees to clear. Then when we were done with our meal she walked over and simply said "box". She was conversing with the people around us and being very friendly. It was just something about us that caused her to be rude. Automatic gratuity for poor service. She did not deserve $17! I was going to leave her $5 even though she deserved nothing at all.

The food was excellent and our waitress was fantastic. Although her gratuity was included, she still treated us like she hadn't gotten a tip. That's great because so many that have gratuity added services are horrible. One thing they could have done was to make sure my bowl with my soup was wiped off instead of serving a bowl with all the soup running down the bowl looking a hot mess. And, also when someone is paying cash, they want a receipt just like the ones using a credit card!

Very good waitress, she told me the top selling foods and most delicious. It's pricey but good. The only thing that was a huge headache was parking

We had the crab cakes for an appetizer, and the chicken alfredo and steak. The crab cakes were my favorite dish of the night. The alfredo was delicious, although the chicken was a bit dry. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak. I also ordered crab legs to come with my alfredo but when they arrived they were still frozen and cold, so I didn't eat them. The jumbo margarita was decent. Service was pretty quick. Harbor House is okay, not sure that I'd visit again.

The food was good, very hot and served without too much of a wait. My waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. The fact that this location has no salad bar needs to be addressed.

We had a girls day out (my mother, daughter, sisters and nieces), and after our outting we went to the Harbor House for dinner. And although they were short staff, they still made accommodations for our party of nine and we did not have a long wait to be seated. The hostess, waitresses, and bus boys were nice, and the chefs were on point because everything and I mean everything was excellent. Way to go Harbor House you made the ending to a wonderful day even better and we will be back!!!

Had two previous meals at Harbor House within the past week and they were both 4 stars. Service was good and prices reasonable. Last night, was a bit of a joke. Maybe they were understaffed, as most places are these days, but it wasn't THAT busy. Long wait at the hostess stand, then when sitting at the bar, was basically ignored for 10 minutes (yes, I timed it) before walking out. Would have stayed and accepted the wait if ANYONE had bothered to acknowledge that I was sitting there. Bartender walked by me several times without even looking in my direction. No hint they cared if I stayed or left, so I left. Would I go back, sure. But the crew on Sunday night, Sept 6 has to step their game up. Honestly, if I went back and saw the same Bartender who was working that night, I'd go somewhere else.

Ordered on Door Dash and got the pic 3 fisherman’s plate. We ordered catfish, fried shrimp and shrimp scampi. It came with a baked potato which we got loaded and also a side of their gumbo which is super delicious and main reason why we choose to order from here. I have also dined in this location as well and the service was also very good. I definitely recommend.
