Great food—LONG waits. Try the “chicken” sandwich—it’s great! Their chili dogs are good too, but I think they use Smart Dogs— which taste like rubber in bologna water—but the chili and onions cover up a multitude of sins! Great customer service!!

I would say this is the best vegan restaurant I've been to, but no, it's the best restaurant I've been to period. The food was perfect, the portions were massive, the wait staff were amazing and the atmosphere was really, really cool. Very laid back yet professional. The walls are covered with guitars and memorabilia of vegan artists who have eaten here. If you want the best lunch experience in Detroit look no further. I would eat here everyday if i lived closer. Chili Mustard Onions is cruelty free eating at its finest 👌 If you're in Detroit try it, vegan or not. Seriously. You won't regret it.

Your burgers are $20 but I can't have a cup of water?? The manger said because of covid19 they can't hand out water but they can prepare food because they wear gloves. She made absolutely no sense whatsoever. And I'm confused as to why you have to call to order instead of place your order at the door but you can stand at the door with no mask and conversate with the lady taking your payment who doesn't wear gloves or sanitize after each use. This restaurant is a joke and doesn't belong in the city of Detroit

Great experience!! My wife and I ordered the Big Mock, a coney dog, and 2 orders of chili cheese fries. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I've given up beef and pork, since then I've been craving some chili cheese fries, this was just what I needed!! The best thing we tasted was the Big Mock burger; of all the go green burgers we've tried this is definitely a new favorite!! The atmosphere is dope & they have nice art work; I'd recommend dinning in.

I've been a vegetarian for 15 years and became vegan during quarantine. I am SOOOO impressed with this restaurant, honestly it was some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I am just a tourist in Detroit, but I will FOR SURE be coming back. I ordered the Detroit Southwest Nachos and honestly couldn't even tell the cheese and sour cream weren't dairy. The blackened "chicken" was FANTASTIC. So juicy and perfectly seasoned. Also, the owner came out to greet me and answer any questions I had. He was so kind and his passion and pride for veganism is apparent, and that is so respectable. Thank you Chili Mustard Onions for supporting animals, planet earth, and for helping to encourage others to do the same, through serving amazing food and making veganism popular.

When I first found out about CMO I couldn’t believe that it was an ALL vegan restaurant which is very rare these days. the food was great. The owner was very friendly and informative and the customer service was great. Now as of 9/22/20 the customer service is terrible. The employees rush you off of the phone and are very short. And the food is no longer good I took a break from eating at CMO because I started to notice the rudeness and it made me uncomfortable. Me and my partner asked them for hot sauce and they gave us a hard time because we wanted extra hot sauce even though we offered to pay for it. The food is not good anymore it’s not fresh. The fries tasted stale recently. The food is always just like warm even when they tell me 10 mins and it’ll be done I approach the window at exactly 8mins I get my food and it’s lukewarm this has happened more times then I can count. I have spent a lot of money with CMO but I will no longer eat there.

This Qdoba is great because of the staff. They made my bowl so nice today. Not because they gave me extra, but because they cared and didn't skimp on anything or slop everything in there like it was prison food. All the ingredients were fresh. Always a pleasant experience at this location. 10/11/20 3pm

Stopped in here with a few friends and I was shocked at how delicious everything was! We had a party of 5 and it was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon but the wait to be seated was short. Plus the food came out really quick. I tried the gyro with chili cheese fries and it was perfect! My girlfriend tried the brush park and she loved it! We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items!

Great place to get vegan food! I tried the chili dog and the waffle fries. Both were delicious. The service was fantastic! Our waitress was very sweet and the greeter was all smiles. ☺️ Restaurant was tidy and clean. Highly recommend!

OMG!! Amazing! My bf is a non vegan and said this is the best Big Moc (mac) he's ever had. He is not wrong! The loaded chili cheese fries will have you making yummy noises. The Seitan in the gyro was seasoned perfectly and the sauce was spot on. Chili Mustard Onions you Rock!

Just had what tasted like a vegan big mac with their incredible sauce and perfected french fries. Plus a gluten free bun that is actually stellar compared to the usually dry ones. Couldn't even finish my meal before writing this to help spread the word! Relaxed, music themed environment where our server was knowledgeable and on point. New favorite spot in corktown area!

Been craving Detroit Coney Dog…. and guess what!? There’s a Detroit Vegan Coney Island Restaurant!!!!! OMG!!!!! Everything was so delicious. Even my non-vegetarian family thought it was great. Will for sure keep coming back and try everything else on the menu 🤤

We will come here every time we're in Detroit. So excited to have the coney experience even if we don't eat meat and dairy. I wish we could try the whole menu. My son said "best lunch ever!" Great service, too.

Start with the loaded nachos and end with a happy belly. Everything was tasty and came out in a timely manner. The server, Vincent, was friendly and knowledgable. We had so many questions, he was able to answer them all. We tried the chkn parmigiana sandwich, the pita, and the Coney and everything was so good! Also loved the huge selection of drinks offer. Must revisit soon!

Great vegan restaurant. Had a very fun atmosphere and very good food. We had a Big Mock (vegan Big Mac with 2 patties and special sauce) and a Beet (meat)ball sandwich. Their chili cheese fries were very good as well. This is not a fast food restaurant. On Saturday nights don’t be in a rush.

Great little vegan spot. It's pretty crowded around 6pm which can be a little uncomfortable waiting in a small crowd packed in the front of the restaurant. But the wait was worth it. The staff was super friendly and the place was nice. Also enjoyed the art for sale on the walls.

I had been looking forward to eating here prior to the pandemic, and finally got an opportunity to sample their menu, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. I loved it. Stopped by here today. Ordered the chili dogs and was grossed out. I’m not sure how this establishment received so many positive reviews. The chili was not edible at all. It’s not the chili Michiganders are use too. It was more like a gravy mixed with ketchup. They are not cheap either. They charge way too much for even a vegan hotdog.

Big mock burger the buns are 2 small and slides right off along with the sauce and ingredients. Then they put the chilli cheese fries in the same box making the burger more greasy! Overpriced junk instead of cheap junk. And they don't even take cash! What the hell does this fake virus have to do with money.

They really skimping on the ingredients. I ordered 3 cheese nachos and they barely gave me any cheese. Also still messed up my order. Plus the employees act like they had attitudes.

This location has consistently been frustrating. The issues I've had include being given the wrong food, takeout containers not being secured properly, food being haphazardly prepared, and (the most consistent issue of all) waiting for my online orders. Every time I have made an online order, it has never been prepared by the time I'm told it will be. I have intentionally arrived at the store 5-10 minutes passed the time I was told it would be ready, and the ticket hasn't been looked at whether the place is busy or not. I'm not sure if this is a product of understaffing, lack of training, or lack of care, but it is a reoccurring issue.

They have been skimping on the meat in the bowls at this location.

Absolute worst service!!! Ordered online, came in at time expected on order just to have it not be ready unfortunately not only was it not ready but they served walk-ins that arrived after me before even starting on the order on top of all that after making the food they inform me that they were out of one of the main ingredients. Horrible service. There are other locations close by, recommended going there first. After reading previous customer feedback I can see this is the norm with this location. It seems like many same feelings about the poor service (ESPECIALLY FROM THE MANAGER) are echoed. I hope corporate actually reads these and makes a change in leadership as it is sorely needed. I have been in customer service my whole life from commission sales to store manager to director in corporate and would never allow such service from my teams!!!

In order for you to enjoy a vegan dish, it needs to be seasoned properly and these guys have mastered that. You will never know you are eating vegan food. Absolutely delicious and a must try for everyone. It is on the pricey side but well worth it.

Excellent food. My only issue is the inconsistency of hours of operation posted online. Google needs to be updated. Because the restaurant is so popular, the phone line is often busy/ no answer. I drove from Livonia yesterday, to find out you are closed Sun-Tues.

I am not much of a burger person but decided to try the beyond burger - big mock and I am impressed! X10 better than a Big Mac and A way healthier option in my opinion, I look forward to trying the quorn next. I’m not vegan but I am open to trying new foods!

Finally tried CMO!! All Vegan offerings-prices inline w most other places- absolutely worth it. Most meals come w fries. Good waffle fries. Good chili dog!The marinara on the ck'parm sandwich was delicious- coulda used alil more chicken /alil messy but filling when you clean your plate w the fries! Most menu items have themed names- organic condiments! at the table Thank you!! Wish they were open later. We dined in hour b4 they closed. imagine they are busyy during lunch hours! Great service! Worth a try even for carnivores

Wow! This is one of the best restaurants in Detroit. I recommend coming here even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan. I recommend the CMO King and some cheese fries. It's pricey, but the portions are huge. You could easily get two meals out of one entree.

I came up visit this spot based on reviews about the service, and because I heard it's a vegan spot that is actually pretty good. Location wise it's kind of in a random place. It's kind of like its own element in the sea of residential, and right across from DMC hospital which was a little bit off. And the entrance is also unassuming. But as soon as you step inside, you feel the welcoming aura. I thought the food was prepared well. It was quick. The service was excellent too. Now the prices were a little bit on the high end so that's one caveat. And the decor/furniture could use a little bit of work since it's a bit dated at this point. However, overall it was a good experience and I'd recommend a visit. I got the Coney Dog - which is kind of like a chili dog with I think fake meat. I also got the loaded fries which I thought were actually quite good. I'd like to try the big mock Burger, but at $16 it was a little bit too much to splurge on for a taste.

So, I eventually made it to CMO this past weekend. There was a line at 10 minutes to open, but I had some time to kill. People need to realize this is a new style of a Coney Island that was brought to Detroit. This is something for non meat eaters to enjoy a Coney again and to show, maybe future non meat eaters that vegan/vegetarian isn’t boring. So of course there’s going to be a wait. Pack your patience! With that being said I waited an hour to be seated. Once seated and order placed I had my food in less than 10 minutes. My food was not cold, it was hot. The food was amaze balls. What sorcery is in this making it taste like a real coney? It tastes so much like a real coney I had to look closely to make sure what I was eating. I can’t wait to go back! Overall, great food, service and atmosphere. Oh, love the artwork!

CMO has some of the best vegan food I've ever tried, seriously superb! I discovered them at a vegan festival years before they had their brick and mortar and I couldn't wait to try their food again. I literally dreamed of it. I've been a very happy customer ever since they opened their restaurant. Some of the best vegan food in Detroit is made there!

I had the CMO coney dog or whatever it’s called and plain fries and it was... bland. It tasted like a smart dog with mud on top of it (the chili literally has a dirt flavor). I’m not sure if that’s how meat eaters make chili and they’re trying to emulate that (I’ve never eaten meat). I’m going to go back to try the big mock. The person who recommended the restaurant told me to try that but I didn’t listen. Hopefully that’s more impressive.

Very good vegan burger. You would never guess it was meatless if you didn't know ahead of time. They offer lots of other things I can't wait to explore.

Really really good vegan comfort food! I was shocked how good the coney dog and loaded fries were. Super unhealthy yet super delicious! Our server was cool and really friendly. My brother had the burger and loved it, and he is a meat eater, so we were both fans!

Have been going here for years And has always been great. Felt bad for the staff as they were slammed with pu orders. Gentleman behind the register was awesome. Woman in the line for orders was very negative - never acknowledged that I was even in line and I was the only one in The line. Clearly she was frustrated but should not have the attitude to the customer. All the orders were incomplete and probably won’t use this location again even though it is the most convenient.

At least i know which one NOT to go to. I ordered online and picked up. I asked for onside guac and salsa. It is like they think we wont notice it is not in the bag. Then i get home and find my burrito bowl is missing half of the things i asked for. It was smothered in queso, so couldnt check. Who ever made my stuff was just lazy and may be a representation of the management. You hire people like you. Try a different qdoba or chipotle.

This location consistently makes various mistakes with my order, which go beyond what I would expect with a franchised restaurant, and do not usually occur at the Canton location I've visited. I assume then, this must be an issue with management. Most recently, my burrito was maybe 2"x 3" and noticeably lighter. I keep thinking I am experiencing isolated incidents, but I estimate I have been here 15 times in 3 years and I've always been overly disappointed. My S.O. also has had orders lacking requested additions, and on one occasion a full burrito when she ordered a bowl online. On a positive note, they give more chips/queso compared to other branches, but also have a heavier hand with salting the chips compared to others, bordering on inedible.

So ordering chips and cheese at this location and you get the absolute tiniest amount of stale chips in a large bag. I have been to many different locations and for some reason this locations gives you way less cheese and chips than the others. I’m sure this location is run by some Karen who follows the rules to the letter when it comes to the amount given. The company wins, but you as the customer loose out.

Disappointed...for the last time. This is my daughter’s favorite restaurant. So, when she surprised us with a trip home from college, I took the family to this location. I forget how often they disappoint us. It is probably poor training, but with so many options for dining out, that is not acceptable. Tonight they were out of ingredients like salsa. Couldn’t they restock? And, should you really have to argue for more than one bag of chips to go with your three orders of nachos? Next time I’ll remember. When we want to go to a Qdoba, we will choose a different location.

Don’t ever order for delivery. They screw up your order up then don’t even bother to bring you the rest of the food to feed your family. We’ve had them Cater parties in the past but that will never happen again after today’s incident!

Both time we went we waited a ling time than to make matters worse, our food sat on the counter getting COLD while I watched workers move as slow as possible with no required to costumers or food. At one point someone left the line for apparantly no reason. Leaving 2 obviously NEW employees to figure it out with dreadful looks on all 3 of there faces. I live 1.3 miles away and my food was stone cold. You need to hire more workers who care to do good work. I was there at 7 pm on monday night 1/27 20 I suggest you see who was working and get ride of the manager ! Wont return to your store. First time ok bad day second experience was worse. Shame on me if I go back. Which I wont

Quick healthy and cheap

Honestly, the staff, while polite, seemed very unorganized and sloppy with the food. The separate food items were slopped all over and amongst the serving bins, and the servers didn't do very well with prepping the food. IE. Server dumped a bunch of spicy queso from my order into the bowl of the person in front of me. She didn't say anything, but she certainly didn't ask for spicy queso on her order. Also, my burrito didn't have a large amount of content, but the server still made a mess of the wrap and tore it. Just not a good representation of what in all of my past experiences at this location have been (usually good.). Hope this helps!

The QDOBA at 6 mile n Newburgh had very slow service (wasn't that busy), small portions and the pop machine went out of order twice. I had better experiences at other Qdoba's.

I hold vegan good to a higher standard... It is necessary to be just as, or more appetizing than the food it is mimicking. However, the food was quite satisfying, and the atmosphere was unique and interesting. If you are already vegan, give this a try for sure! If not- give it a chance to impress, and order something that is recommended by omnivore reviewers.

Oh my gosh. We just left this restaurant and it was truly SO good!! I’m so weird about the vegan cheese that gets used in most restaurants as it’s cashew and not really cheesy tasting. Here it’s not like that at all. 🙏🤌🏼The food was spot on and the waiter (I don’t know his name but he had an earring in one ear that I remember) was so helpful and kind. It was busy and he was popping around, filling up waters and making sure everything was all good still. We never had to wait for anything. I feel like other restaurants should study this one because it was a perfect experience. We live almost 2 hours away but will be coming back just for this restaurant regularly. Thank you for such a great experience!
