I’m a BIG fan of the Corktown Area in Detroit. This was my first time at Cork & Gabel and I’m mad that I waited this long. Scanning over what they were serving I loved how the menu was a play on food with and Irish/German edge (was fitting for the area). I loved the Benny and Omelette section as I’m a savory girl myself. We walked in and it was going to be a 45 minute wait BECAUSE it’s popular. We sat at the bar right away instead of a table and had great service and a few laughs with the bartenders. Will definitely be back for brunch and would love to swing by for dinner someday to check it out.

This was an easy 5 star to give with its beautiful interior, delicious food and a price point that was very reasonable. Lamb eggs Bennie 5 stars Never had a lamb Bennie before and feel like maybe it should be a thing. The accompanying sauce went perfectly with it. Corned beef hash 4.5-5 stars I'm not a huge corn beef hash person as I had some bad experiences in my youth, but this was a great rendition of it that would make me consider ordering it more. My friend's issue was he would have liked a sauce with it, I personally thought it was fine. However, between the lamb and the corned beef hash the lamb was higher on the list for me. So if the lamb gets 5, the corned beef can't? Personally I wish I could have tried more items, but from this initial visit, it gets a 5 star which means I'd love to go back for more. Parking is available for free in a large private lot behind the building.

A bit pricey but wonderful food and service. Save the eating for a nice night out, a date night maybe. The drinks are priced normally, cocktails were 11+ and a tall Guinness was $7, well poured. This is definitely a photo worthy venue that knows what it is about...even though my photos aren't the best! I'll be back.

A very unique and cool looking place. Our waiter was great. Watching the staff throughout and all energetic and appeared to be enjoying what they do. The arrived fast and the order was accurate but flavor was just average. Presentation was there but our party of 7 all felt it was not the exciting flavors we had hoped for. It won’t stop us from returning if we are in the area but probably won’t be making a special trip.

Our experience here was truly fantastic. My partner suggested it after seeing a glowing review on TikTok, so we were really excited to check it out. And it certainly lived up to the hype. The front door is the first eye catcher; a heavy cast iron thing on rusted hinges makes it feel like you’re entering some hallowed temple. The staff inside are extremely friendly and accommodating. They made a nice space for us and our dog on their patio and checked in on us regularly (even being kind enough to bring water out for our dog). What really impressed us was the efficiency, without ever feeling rushed. We ordered soon after we sat down and the food arrived maybe 5 minutes later. And it was fresh, nothing reheated or kept-hot about it. It was all very delicious, and after our meal we enjoyed talking with one of the managers about navigating the pandemic and the future of in-person dining. We have friends visiting soon and I can’t wait to bring them here to show them the best of Detroit!

Stopped for just a Bloody Mary before walking around Rosevelt Park to see the train station. They offer to go pouches for beverages too. Bartenders were really friendly.

My husband and I ordered the chicken marsala and the shrimp Alfredo. The meals were OUTSTANDING!! I’m from Brazil, recently moved to Michigan and this is one of my favorite meals so far! My aperol spritz was great too! We’ll be back! Christina was an amazing server! I wish they had dairy-free desserts!

First time here. The food was delicious and deserves a 5-star. I ordered shrimp and lobster and my husband got schnitzel. Both were good but the winner was my food lol. The service was good as well. Our reservation was at 5 and we got there 12 minutes late because of the situation of the roads. The girl that checked us in simply looked at us and said you were late we gave your table away! All the restaurants wait at least 15 minutes then give up the table! We did not appreciate the way she informed us and didn’t sound polite. Other than that everything else was good.

So fun! Great view of the train station you can almost see Canada from here. through the bridge. They have a beautiful patio that I bet is just perfect in the summer. Bartenders were a blast and knew a lot about the food preparation. Chef driven homemade food. We had the Dubliner cheese appetizer. Sandra had the mushroom ravioli and I had the pork schnitzel; both were prepared just right. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the D.

Was looking for a unique place with my husband's taste for his 40th birthday, and man did Cork and Gabel deliver. Our party of 12 was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere, appetizers, entrees and overall ambiance. This place moves fast without sacrificing style or flavor. They made his night an awesome one and I couldn't be more thankful and cannot wait to come back!

Great atmosphere and really good service. My fiancé and I still opted here while visiting from Pittsburgh. And let’s just say wow. From the ambiance to the food. I got the CNG Burger and she got the fish and chips. Honestly can’t go wrong with anything here. Also, perfect cocktails.

Fantastic service! Loved the C&G burger at medium rare. Other C&G burger at medium looked great as well. Smoked Old Fashioned was very tasty. The Dubliner cheese dish was outstanding! Wings were a little over cooked, but the blue cheese sauce was a nice compliment. Most definitely going back.

I helped open and worked for this restaurant for over a year. When I was hired I was the only black woman foh waitress. I was Discriminated against and treated differently than my white and male coworkers. Particularly by the head chef Matthew McGrail and the other white male management that worked there. Do not eat here!

We sat in their outside seating which was covered and nicely open to allow a good breeze to flow through the area. The food was well worth the price and very flavorful. Drinks were very good as well. Their fries are seasoned to perfection. Will definitely be back. Our service Johnny(not to be confused the bartender John lol) was very personable and made sure that we have everything we needed. He was very fun and easygoing. He definitely knows how to create a welcoming experience for his guests!

John is great! The whole bar staff is phenomenal. I’ve only had one bad experience the 9 times I’ve been there. Food is awesome and the drinks are unique. It was a beautiful Sunday to go. Quiet and I met a few dope people. I will return and would recommend.

The husband brought me here today, why have I always drove past and never came? Please don’t be an idiot and go! It’s a reason they keep getting rewards and such.

First time here after hearing high reviews. It really missed all marks... It wasn't busy at all and our waiter took forever to take our order. I had to flag a different waiter down to bring us our drinks after I saw them sitting on the at the bar for ~15min. The food was very mediocre. Neither of our chicken dishes were well seasoned. The cherry on top was the bathroom. For the price we payed, I expect it to be a tier above fast food restaurant but if you look at the picture, it's absolutely gross.

John, the bartender, was clearly very passionate about his job. He made wonderful recommendations and made a delectable old fashioned. We had the crispy goat cheese and triple sticks appetizers. The goat cheese was incredible! So rich and balanced beautifully with the lemon thyme vinaigrette and arugula. The house made Boursin cheese that came with the pretzels was delicious. We will definitely be back to try the fried dubliner cheese and more!

Helped friends with a wedding here and enjoyed it so much I had to return with my family. We sat out on the patio on a beautiful Sunday morning. We were seated quickly and staff was ready to serve us! Food was delicious! We especially enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and corned beef hash. We will be back!

We cannot recommend Cork and Gabel enough for your wedding! We had our ceremony & wedding reception at Cork and Gabel in April. Everything was beyond perfect! From the food, to the planning, to the drinks and atmosphere, it was exactly what we wanted for our Detroit wedding. Matt, owner and chef, worked with us to create an amazing and tasty menu for our guests, drinks were delicious, and the wait staff & bartenders went above and beyond. Our experience at Cork and Gabel was absolutely perfect, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the night!

I couldn't recommend Cork & Gabel enough for anyone looking for a venue to host a wedding/larger party! The restaurant has a ton of character, great mix of indoor and outdoor space with city views & the prettiest warm glow from it's lighting at night. The food was outstanding (as always!) & we were able to choose custom food & drink options which was extra special. Our guests can't stop raving about the amazing cocktails and the attentive bar staff giving drink recommendations & truly making whatever guests wanted. The owner, Matt, was incredible to work with and quickly answered all our questions, shared recommendations based on the space and went above & beyond to ensure our reception felt true to us and went off without a hitch. Thank you so much Matt & the Cork & Gabel team for such an awesome experience!!

We had breakfast there but I cant remember the name the dish I ordered but it was delicious! We also ordered the mimosa with the Pomagranate so yummy. We went there three time so far and have never been disapointed.

We sat at the bar. Kyle and John were excellent! They were knowledgable about their liquor selection and my hubby and I enjoyed our drinks. The food was also amazing....as was the desert!!! Some chocolate waffle with vanilla ice cream and yummy caramel sauce! So happy this place isnt closer to my house because that desert was one of the best I've had (and I'd get it far too often if this place was closer) ! We will definitely be going here again and again!

My friend and I had a great time here yesterday - a wonderful gem in Detroit’s Corktown! I had the vegan beef & vegetable stew and my friend had the fish & chips. The food and service were excellent. Their menu has unique and creative vegan options - an awesome place for those with dietary restrictions who are looking for more options than a black bean burger. We’ll be back!

First time... Great place. Bigger than I thought. Easy parking. Food was DELICIOUS! The German Doner (gyero) was fantastic. Lots of non-meat meals too. Good craft cocktail drinks ... Bartender will make what you want. Definitely coming again.

First time here! The best part was the Irish coffee! AWESOME BARTENDER! I would come weekly just for that.. lol the service by Stephanie was good as well (that's why the Fourth STAR), our table love condiments and because they are stingy with EVERYTHING! Syrup, ketchup, jelly etc etc so we had her running!! All in All breakfast was tasty. Plus Clean environment, I say give em' a try for sure!!

The food was wonderful, our waitress, Gabby, was attentive, polite, and recommended the cinnamon rolls, which were FANTASTIC! My moms burger was cooked perfectly and the Irish coffee was smooth and delicious! I live in the area and will definitely be back!
