I was in the mood for a burger today and saw one advertised on Bangkok 96. It was definitely one of the best culinary surprises of Detroit. The sticky rice "buns" is genius and fun. The Boba tea is a perfect accompaniment. Only thing is.... Come here on an empty stomach .. this place knows how to fill you up... That's a good thing :D

The only thing I didn't like was they gave u this small thing off Rice for like 8 Chicken breast. However ending was tasty. Ask for extra sauce for the fried broccoli. It was a different experience.. it was inside The Shipping Company. They say you like it's a restaurant. There are 2 other restaurants you can order from and a bar. The atmosphere is nice as well. I like the experience.

I have been going to Bangkok 96 in Dearborn for years but just recently discovered their Detroit shipping company location. I have celiac and the street food location has so many gluten free options it’s a dream come true! The fried crispy chicken bowl is amazing and I could eat it everyday. Everyone who works there has always been super friendly and helpful and I’ve never had a bad experience.

Bangkok 96 is Chef Genevieve Vang’s finest offering yet. Her imaginative takes on classic Thai plates are flavorful, varied, and filling. The pad Thai roll, chicken dumpling, and candied beef are each uniquely delightful. Besides the great food, Aunt Genevieve herself is the simply most generous, kind, and thoughtful chef and business owner Detroit has to offer. Highly recommend this stall at DSC to satiate your Thai food craving!

I've ordered numerous times and have NEVER had a bad experience. Next time I'm gonna try and take some pics before I devour the food 🤣 The food is delicious and they have never messed up my order or left out items. In times when most of us are spending our money more wisely it's good to know there are places where we can count on for dinner w/o feeling like we wasted our money... photos at all later date UPDATE: yal know on Ratatouille when the critic put some Ratatouille in his mouth and it took him back to his childhood 🥰thats the 96 Curry dish with chicken and veggies

Just ate at Bangkok96. Came to Detroit assuming I was going to get shot, instead I fell in love. As soon as I had that first mouthwatering bite, I knew that I was leaving my wife and children to stay in Detroit. Their love is nothing compared to the warm feeling that I get when eating this Thai food. They say you die twice. Once, when you get laid in the ground, and once, the last time someone mentions your name. But you can die a third time. You can die having never experienced this Thai food. If I had to convince Israel and Palestine to stop fighting, this is the food that I do it with. This is the kind of food that brings about world peace.

Pad Thai roll was all noodles and the noodles were unseasoned. Sticky rice was rock solid and crunchy. The walking dumplings were really sour. Grilled chicken was amazing though. I'd come back for that.

I can not recommend this place enough. The food is absolutely amazing, the menu is affordable, the portion is huge, the wait is short, and the service is indescribable. Having spent my whole life in LA until now, I did not expect to find good Asian food in Michigan let alone something of this caliber where it'll be considered top tier in California. This is by far the best new modern Thai food in the Detroit area. My approval is hard to win, but I absolutely fell in love Bangkok 96 Street Food and the master chef owner, Genevieve!

I went to Detroit Shipping Company and saw this amazing looking chicken dish that a friend had ordered and said I want that! It was the chicken with sticky rice. Then everyone said that this was definitely the place to try. I even up getting the pork steak with sticky rice instead, so I have an excuse to go back and get the chicken. I ordered it with the hot spice level. This was great, was right on the edge of being too much, but delicious. The meat was seasoned and prepared perfectly. Also tried the pad that roll. It was a great new way to try pad thai, and I really liked the presentation. No regrets, will visit again, sadly it will make it harder to try everything else available here!

This used to my favorite place! I ate here twice since all the Covid changes. The Pad Thai roll was burnt. The boba Thai tea was watered down milk. It was not sweet or have any Thai tea in it! NOT appetizing at all. I don’t know what happened to this place, but I will definitely not be coming back.

I ordered the candied beef with sticky rice and really enjoyed the tender and savoury meat. Was pleasantly surprised by the fish sauce at the bottom which added a nice complement to the rice. Thank you!

The crispy fried chicken bowl is amazing. We also ordered the spicy crab rangoons, they were not spicy at all (which was fine with me) but sooo tasty. Will absolutely be back.

I absolutely love this place. Not only is the food exceptional and reliable, but they use all-natural, high-quality chicken with no antibiotics and you can tell. I think it's the best chicken in Detroit. Also, the owner, Genevieve, is a wonderful person and is always so welcoming. Highly recommended.

The food and the service was amazing. I will definitely be coming back if I'm in the Detroit area. A must-go for any tourist or someone looking for some pad Thai

When they say award-winning, they really do mean it. Some of the best Thai food in Michigan hands down! Some days even the Head chef and founder mama Vang is at this location. She is such a sweet & generous person!

I had heard many great things about the restaurant, but was sadly disappointed. I called and was told to place a takeout order over the Square app. No problem! I ordered the fried chicken bao buns, crispy fried shrimp bowl, and the GF bubble Thai iced tea. Including a tip this all came roughly to about $35.00 which is certainly not a problem, however, the first fried shrimp were cooked, the majority of the batter was still wet on the shrimp. I literally bit into multiple pieces and received a nice chunk of cold, batter and uncooked shrimp. The bao buns were okay and so was the tea. Definitely not worth the health risk.

The pad Thai roll is the best pad Thai I've ever eaten! And this is coming from a pad Thai enthusiast. The Thai tea was a nice treat as well. Can't wait to come back, the entire menu looks great.

My boyfriend and I were in the area looking for somewhere different to eat before the Red Wings game 1/26/22 and first off, the building is beautiful. I do not think I have ever been to a place that has different places to eat in one building. Its super diverse, which I love and the music was great as well. The hostess was very sweet and informed us on how to order. We ordered from Bangkok 96 and let me tell you.... The food was incredible. Probably the best chicken I've ever had. My boyfriend got the coconut chicken curry and he was so happy. This place has been on our minds ever since. We will be coming back soon to try out more food!

Great food. Definitely worth a try. For Parking, use paid parking lot right next to the place. Also know that this is more like a food court type of setting rather than stand alone restaurant. The food and ambiance is awesome though. definitely worth a visit.

I have had the salmon and shrimp, the candied beef, and the crispy chicken bowl. Everything is tasty, filled with balanced and contrasting sweetness and beautiful to look at. But the rice. omfg. THE RICE! I don't usually eat much rice, maybe to absorb a the last bits of sauce. The sticky rice here is heavenly. It's a fluffy little chewy cloud that I can joyously eat on its own or easily use to soak up the delicious flavors.

First of all, I am a big fan of their spicy Thai noodle bowl soup. Moreover, I am a big fan of their fantastic hospitality. When I placed my order for my favorite noodle dish (by telling them how much I love and crave for it!) even though it was not on the menu on that day, the lady showed up from the back of the kitchen and told me that she would see what she can do best for me. A few minutes later, she came back to me with my beloved noodle dish! She generously fulfilled the stranger's request in less than 10 minutes! She even said no to my payment (Don't worry, She got a generous amount of tip from me as my token of appreciation). I am so thankful for the way she loves her customers. Thank you Bangkok 96. You are my go-to restaurant in Detroit.
