We fished the river and caught some walleye. We were able to moor the boat, clean the fish, and bring them in to be cooked. Sinbad's prepared the fish three different ways: pan fried, deep fried, and blackened. It was all very good with the blackened being my favorite. The meal also came with cole slaw and fries. Great food and great service!

This place is amazing. Besides the captivating views, the service and staff are absolutely amazing. The food was incredible and perfectly prepared. My daughter had a great time and so did I. We will definitely be returning. Thanks!

I really wanted to like this place. We were excited to finally go dine and the experience was lack luster. Everyone was really nice they have a great staff overall. First issue was when the bread was brought to our table, the butter packets that were already on the table, about three of them were used and put back meaning no one checked to make sure. The sesame chicken tenders sauce did not taste well and the chicken tenders taste as if it was cooked in the same oil as the fish. My ribeye steak was overcooked and dry. It was a busy time so I’ll give them grace but we won’t be returning and was disappointed because we’ve heard nothing but good things. Maybe it was just a bad busy Saturday evening.

We had a delicious lunch here. I recommend getting the orange roughy fish sandwich. The clam chowder and chili were also very good, and the waitress was very nice.

Excellent food as always! Extra bonus was that the valet could drive a manual transmission car; sadly that doesn't happen all that often anymore. I love the atmosphere in this place. I just love their perch sandwich!

Before dining in, I asked the wonderful hostess (very nice & professional young woman) their gratuity policy and she informed me that there was no mandatory gratuity for parties of 5 or less. I had a party of 4. (My receipt says 6 for some reason which is a complete lie !) Nevertheless, when the initial $240 bill came, I was only then informed that my party was not allowed to separate the checks and that despite what I was told, this $42 service charge was going to be on my bill and the manager literally argued back and forth with me insisting that the gratuity was non-negotiable and that these service charges are the only way he can keep his employees paid and restaurant open, I then explained to him that I ALSO work a 9-5 and I specifically asked about gratuity prior to dining in. After arguing with him for several minutes I decided to just let him know that I would be paying the bill WITHOUT the "suggested mandatory non-negotiable service charges". He proceeded to "inform" me that they would be taking license plate numbers if we refused to pay. Ironically, after paying the amount that I felt was fair...the charge was dropped from my bill AND I was given change. I find it extremely frustrating and unprofessional that I had to argue with management about something he claimed was "impossible" and non-negotiable. Of course, I tipped my server because he was a good server. However, I did not appreciate the "professionalism" of the management and it was a very poor reflection of this establishment.

It was my first time dining at this restaurant when I walked in I thought that the atmosphere was really nice and calming seated close to the back of the windows where we had a clear view of the boats in the water that was really nice they have beautiful chandelier lighting and it’s dim lighting so that make it real relaxing to sit back and enjoy your meal.. The first thing I ordered was a sangria drink it was okay, but it was not sweet it tasted more watered down it had some cherries and orange at the top of the drink they were not sweet at all the next thing that came out was some bread the bread was very dry and cold, it should have been warm it was like a dry dinner roll.. The next thing that came out was my salad it was a tossed salad but my salad didn’t look like it was fresh they brought out Italian dressing that just did not look right so I didn’t even try it.. Then the dinner came out I ordered a seafood platter the price is about $32 it comes with ocean perch fish frog legs, scallops, shrimp, and my two sides I chose were french fries and toss Salad.. The food was just not good The fish was super small like they took one fish and cut them in 4 pieces.. no flavor at all.. The frog legs had good flavor but could have been cooked better.. The scallops tasted raw The shrimp were very large shrimp and they tasted OK The French fries were great! crispy on the outside soft on the inside I really enjoyed the french fries I took a piece of carrot cake to go and I really did not like that but it was OK.. Very very small portions for that high price is a little ridiculous!! (Former chief Craig was there) I give this restaurant maybe three stars and the reason why they have three stars is due to the atmosphere of the restaurant The food I give zero stars.. Prices are high so the food should be spectacular I was there May 26,2022 Around 1/2:00pm Will I try this place again Yes but I will keep it simple and maybe just order a sandwich and some fries nothing to expensive..

I introduced my daughter to Sinbad's today! Haven't been here in 50 years and was thrilled to see it was still open!) Lunch was divine and our server suggested a wine that was perfect...loved it! Now I have to introduce my other daughter to Sinbad's!

I lived in Detroit for 6 years and never visited this restaurant. Finally, I had a chance this past weekend, and the seafood was fresh and tasty.

This was my guys 1st time trying Sinbad's and 1st time trying Calamari, which he absolutely loved. We tried the Ribeye and Cod dinner as well, they ran out of bread and salad dressing so that's the only reason for the 4 Stars otherwise it was great and as usual, I enjoyed everybody bit of it especially the Calamari sauce πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ₯˜πŸ₯˜πŸ₯—πŸ₯—

Has an amazing view and atmosphere, but it took WAY too long to be seated, considering it wasn't super busy when we arrived. The bartender had to find someone to have us seated. Our waitress was friendly and informative once we were seated, though. The escargot was tasty, considering it was the first time I've ever had it. The BLT was very good as well; I ordered it on wheat, but it could have had more tomatoes considering how much bacon was on it. I did appreciate being able to put my mayonnaise on the sandwich as opposed to it arriving with either too much or too little. The Cole Slaw was yummy, even if it was sweet. The table bread was fresh & warm, but it was kind of average compared to other restaurants. However, the atmosphere, albeit cold, was very nice.

I cannot overstate the magnificence of this establishment. The parking attendants go above and beyond by opening all car doors, treating you like royalty. The serene water view is incredibly soothing. The cuisine is excellent, with intricate flavors that are sure to delight your taste buds. Furthermore, the waitstaff is highly professional in their demeanor. Without a doubt, every penny spent here is well worth it.

Stopped for lunch before going on a fishing charter with Reel Fanatics (great choice BTW). Sinbad's is right there by the Marina offering awesome seafood with even better service. They are on it!! Try the specials. We'll be back.

1st time at Sindbads in more than 30yrs. We celebrated our 2yr wedding anniversary with dinner. Susan H provided great service AND service recovery when part of my order was delayed. The orange roughy, sauteed green beens, clam chowder, and chili were ALL delicious.

Loved the ambience, service and food! I felt the soups could go a bit less on salt. A bit on the expensive side, though all the fish dishes serves big portions. Will definitely go back - We even met some local heroes there!

I had a perfect experience there also the clam chowder was worth just going back and just only getting one bowl of that by itself whoever makes the clam chowder there has the flick of the wrist yummy hats off to the clam chowder maker everything else was pretty good but the clam chowder stole the show...

Pork chops were very dry, but the brownies were wonderful. Views were of the dock area. Couldn't see the water. Very crowded and noisy on a Friday.

What a gem! Excellent place to leave an impression on your guest. We took two couples from out of town who felt like they were in another city altogether. Drinks from the bar were perfection. The service was outstanding throughout the stay. Opted for the fresh chowder and I've not had such a good one since being on the East Coast. Based on an insider tip I also had the butter sauteed perch, six beautiful fillets of pure Michigan. Our server was great, the views were great.

My family and I came to Sinbads to celebrate my birthday. The experience was less than satisfactory. The waitress was very slow and inattentive in a restaurant that was less in half full. The process of order foods and drinks were extremely slow. The drinks and appetizers took along time to come out. The waitress did not check on the table periodically to refill drinks. My meal and another meal was dropped by the staff and the meal was promptly reordered yet had to wait 30 minutes before the meals were delivered and the rest of the party had finished their meals. The manager and waitress did apologize for the delay after it was brought to the manager attention. How the remaining meals were dry and not made well. The bill was provided with no adjustments. I had to remind the staff about drinks. This was the second time coming to the restaurant and I will never come back or recommend. I am a former waitress and this was some of the worst dining experience I have ever had.

The Escargot was better than I've had at high-end French restaurants. Also really enjoyed the Walleye Pickerel and Lake Perch. Excellent and friendly service, large portions and everything perfectly prepared.

I came to Sinbads thinking I'd get a chance to sit aside and walk along the docks after a long lunch. It's not set up that way but, the food was amazing. I loved the lightly battered fresh white fish from Lake Superior, as well as the rustic ambience and view of the boats. They played great older music like Walk on by Dionne Worwick etc. Lots of great music, amazing service. I felt very welcome and taken care of.

Excellent food, and service! Loved that we were able to sit by the window, and look out to the Detroit River! One of my favorite restaurants. Sinbad's never disappoints!😊

I don't think I'll go back anytime soon... I feel like I've only been once that BOTH the food and service was good. For the price you pay, the portions are extremely small and the staff can be more off as far as the level of service than on. I do understand that at times it can get a little hard for them, but they don't try to hide it. So, maybe go just to see for yourself
