Love campus Martius so much! Love to see how far it has come over the years.... such a unique and cool spot to hang out with family, friends, or even by your self. Places to eat, have drinks, tons of seating and just a really cool atmosphere all around. Highly recommend you taking a moment to check out the place and it's surroundings! Pics do it no justice but here is just a few.

I absolutely love this area. They have definitely upgraded since I was a kid. We went as a large family during the fall. The skating rink is super nice. They have so many different areas of games for the kids and family to enjoy. They have a pop up shop and a food court. Security at entry for pat down for safety. Parking is great on the street or the parking garage right across. Great family atmosphere and safe!

Campus Martius is always fun, any season of the year. More in summer and during Christmas. The rink is busy, lots of the other related things around. Good food options around. Parking is not that easy to find during the peak season and times of the day. Detroit downtown has got back it's lost charm and beauty.

Enjoyed the Night out with new faces, New Culture, New Fashions and very good feel environment on the Christmas Evening. Best place to visit with family and children's and we can spend simply watching the programs, games in the Centre of place. We have different activity. We can good hot coffee if went on chill days. Interested people can dance and enjoy the day.

This place is in the heart of downtown Detroit where I saw many people and families gathering at this beautiful park and having fun. The lightning and setting around this park is so beautiful which gives great feelings while walking around. Moreover, I loved the ice skating at this park adding beauty to the amazing view of high rise buildings.

Campus Martius Park Every year we come to this park to enjoy the Christmas Tree. Huge tree. Every year it happens. We enjoy the atmosphere, lights, and activities. It's different every year. Never disappointed. The parking could use some work. Highly Recommended

Has so much fun ice skating with my boyfriend at campus martius park. One thing I was not at all throw the boat was the fact that there was no restroom available to us unless we were to go in and purchase something at some restaurant as we waited to ice skate. Way too many people on the rink at one time at 11:00 p.m. which I found to be weird but it was still very beautiful and something everyone should experience.

Campus Martius has become the heart of action and life in the center of downtown Detroit. It has a variety of things to do from ice skating in winter, the City Christmas tree around the holidays, nearby roller skating in Summer, fine dining at Parc, other nearby (within walking distance) restaurants, shops and entertainment. The fountain is beautiful as well.

Downtown Detroit is beautiful. There is a heavy police presence. The cultural diversity is amazing. There are so many restaurants and bars. You also can just walk around and have a great time.

Went the day after Thanksgiving for the winter decorations and festivities and it was beautiful! Very well done. Plenty of lights and decorations in the area and the ice skating rink was surprisingly well maintained. You can rent skates there or bring your own. The shops across the street are adorable and there are a ton of local vendors. The huge tree from MI was amazing and beautifully decorated. Definitely a Christmas must do!

The park covers two city blocks and boasts beautiful landscaping, fountains, sculptures, and plenty of green space for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The park also features a stage for outdoor performances, making it a hub for cultural events in the city. One of the most notable features of Campus Martius Park is its unique ice-skating ring, which is open during the winter months. The ring is surrounded by beautiful holiday lights and serves as a festive gathering place for both locals and tourists alike. The park also has several restaurants and cafes that offer a range of dining options, from casual to upscale. Visitors can enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful views of the park and the city skyline.

The roller skating rink was a fun experience for me and many others on a summer afternoon. It's great to see a variety of activities that people can take advantage of for exercise and enjoyment. There is history represented here as the historic Rollercade Rink is expanded to an inner urban setting in downtown Detroit. This is a spring and summertime activity that you don't want to miss!

Very small area to fit all of the holiday season activities. Always busy and full of people. You need to watch your kids very carefully. They had nice Christmas tree, and tiny skating ring, with long lane to rent equipment. My kids wanted to get in, but was too cold and long to wait. Overall experience is acceptable.

Interesting park/area right in the middle of the city and the street - in a sort of roundabout. Nice sandy playground, cool bar with terrace and redtaurant. Kids not allowed after 9 pm.

Fantastic place to hang out in the evenings with friends and family. The lighting is fabulous surrounding the skating rink and the huge Christmas tree. The boutique shops in the Cadillac square cool too. The atmosphere in the holiday season is vibrant.. plenty of eating options nearby. Very clean and chic...

Visiting Campus Martius Park at night was an enchanting experience! The park came alive with vibrant lights, creating a magical atmosphere. The illuminated trees and sparkling fountains added a touch of whimsy to the surroundings. The park's central location in the city made it easily accessible, and the nighttime ambiance was truly captivating. The bustling energy of the city was still present, but the park offered a peaceful respite from the urban hustle. We enjoyed strolling along the pathways, taking in the stunning views of the city skyline and the historic buildings surrounding the park. The seating areas provided a comfortable spot to relax and soak in the ambiance while enjoying the company of friends or loved ones. Campus Martius Park truly showcases the charm and vibrancy of the city at night. It's a perfect spot for a romantic walk, a gathering with friends, or simply to unwind and enjoy the city lights. I highly recommend a visit to this park at night to experience the unique and captivating atmosphere it offers.

Visited Campus Martius over the holidays and was blown away. The tree all decked out, the midway, the ice rink, the number of people... It was incredible. Ice skating was affordable and the staff was very helpful. A beautiful event for a lovely park in an amazing city. RECOMMENDATION: if you go for holiday events, go during the day. The crowds are much lighter and parking is much easier to find earlier in the day

Working Downtown Detroit one of my favorite places to go when I am in need of some time away from the office is Campus Martius Park. In the summer I can enjoy lunch in the sun, with a live concert. In the winter I am overwhelmed with the joy and splendor of the ice skating rink and Christmas tree. Did I mention how clean & safe it is? At times I take my heels off and allow my feet to touch the grass, it's exactly what I need to fell at peace. I'm very lucky to have such a great pick me up just a few steps away from my office.

Great outdoor family friendly activity and picturesque surroundings. With entry and skate rental expect to spend appropriately $18 pp. The snack stand also offers hot cocoa and warm cider. Clean well lit restrooms were available in a nice trailer near skate rental tent.

A beautiful park to visit, especially around Christmas time. Head to the large tent to pay the $11 admission fee (2021-2022) and rent skates if needed, or bring your own. Then enjoy skating surrounded by Christmas lights with a great view of downtown Detroit.

I took my little 6-year-old granddaughter to see the Christmas sights. 🎄 They have a new popup and food and horses 🐎 sleigh rides and family-friendly activities to do. She got a balloon which was $15 that she loved. We ate hot waffles with different toppings for about $8 each. Parking was $10 in the structures it's easier than searching for a spot. I love and enjoy my city!!!

Downtown Detroit is a beautiful site to behold. Campus Martius adds to the beauty. From people enjoying lunch outside to dogs being walked and children laughing. Visiting this area leaves a warm feeling of togetherness and community in your soul. And it's always a treat to see the Detroit mounted police.

Walked the park at dark. The lights are still up, and it's beautifully lit. Security is well placed and noticeable. It's a great place to take a walk after dinner.

Went for the city tree lighting. Was really impressed with the number of food trucks, the entertainment during the event, and the security as well. Had a great time.

We enjoy hanging out here. We typically park several blocks away, walk to a food truck sometime between 11am and 3pm, and sit down in the park area to eat. There are several venues for food and drink, and "the beach" area is fun to sit on or walk through the sand. The beautiful fountain is also great to watch and listen to on a hot day. We always walk from here to the riverfront for a stroll. Today we entered the Monroe Street Midway, an area that is surrounded by walls enclosing a roller skate and basketball park. You can also get concessions here... soda, popcorn, food and snacks. It's a very cool place to sit, relax and people-watch, with some very cool street art by local artists. Fun place with music, and no charge to enter. Just be aware that you must pass through a metal detector, and security will want to glance in any bags you are carrying. Unfortunate, but safety is a priority. A small inconvenience for a great family space in the heart of the downtown buildings.

Always pleasant and lively. Not a good place to go if you want to social distance. The park changes each season. Right now (December) the rink is out. There is not a lot of space in some areas and there are lots of people especially at night because if how pretty it is.

Enjoyed my time walking through the city and observing the beautiful monuments! Beachy feel for a pit stop with seats, a bar, and sand with trees around you. Many shops to check in walking distance.

There is a bar called the beach, its kids are friendly until 9 pm. Dog friendly. There are fancy portatil restrooms. Great place to chill and enjoy the summer weather.

Campus Martius Park was preparing for the Christmas season with the construction of an ice skating rink and pop up restaurants. If the surrounding buildings and the bustle in the streets are any indicators, I am positive visitors will have a memorable experience in downtown Rocket Town.

They've really done some wonderful things in this area! Easy to access from the people mover, very festive and fun through all the seasons. Lots of great shops and dining as well as the Monroe Street midway that has rotating kid friendly fun. Clean, vibrant and welcoming.

Downtown is so nostalgic with the décor on so many buildings that are being redone and bought especially by Dan Gilbert himself has done a fabulous job. Looks great and it's all gonna get better. It would be really nice to see. A little bit wider streets but I know it's kind of hard.

Kind of random park near the Ren-Cen. Random art installations and a pretty good fountain. They have a kind of band shell area, but no bands when we were there. Just some advertisements lighting up the park on a giant screen. Saw a few cops on patrol, so seems safe.

I haven't explored my city all summer. Downtown Detroit is one of the most beautiful things about the city so many more reservations going on. Beautiful place to take pictures and go to games etc. We enjoyed a free circus recently down at Campus Martius Park this past weekend. They are always having something free in this area. The kids really enjoyed it after the circus was over we hopped on the people mover and got off at Central Park Station stopped by Monroe Street Midway which was beautiful looked amazing to my brother from another mother whose art is all the around the city "Sheefy Mcfly" so proud of him. I didn't fully enter the Monroe Midway I know I had my strap which is a firearm on me so I knew I wasn't making past the medal detectors. We walked down further to Campus Martius Park where they had games, a beach like atmosphere with sand for the kids also had places where you can get adult drinks and food while your're down there. Lastly they have a huge area where they show free movies for kids and adults. Overall go visit downtown Detroit it's beautiful and the summer and winter, but the summer time is just more of a vibe. I spent a total of $25 dollars I went to Shake Shack and spent $10 on parking which was on a Sunday this was a 24hr parking garage at 150 W. Jefferson. There is also the Compuware Parking Garage it is right near the Monroe Midway as well right off Central station people mover stop. If you plan to bring kids down and don't want to spend much money bring them their own snacks. I packed peanut butter jelly sandwiches, yogurt and used a lunch box as a cooler to keep our waters cold while exploring it was four of us total. I also bought change because ik we were getting on the people mover. People Mover cost .75 cents per person going 1 way. If you don't have change they do have a change machine at every stop of the people mover. Rest rooms they do have multiple porter potties around each of these areas you can go to always carry extra tissue, hand sanitizer, small soap an extra bottle of water for those who like to properly wash their hands. Atmosphere: 10 out of 10 Downtown Detroit: 10 out of 10

Great place to go downtown to hang out. There was an ice skating rink to skate on. Also a nice little area down there with a row of little shops you could go down and at the end there was a tent where you could get beverages.
