The fountain part has not worked for a while. The maintenance man told us as he cleaned the water fountain of green water from rain deposits. Still beautiful to see the states and the water views. Plenty of parking and super quiet. Nice drive, but not as I read about. Casino is closed and other attractions in the park. Still nice drive and natural areas of birds.

Such an impressive fountain. I love that James Scott left his wealth to make this for Detroit and that his statue faces it and the downtown skyline. So epic. I want to come back in the summer when it’s hopefully running 🤞🏼

This is the highlight of any "Belle Isle" Visit. The James Scott Memorial Fountain. Make sure you visit this fountain during the summer season! Enjoy the cold water during the hot summer days. Enjoy yourself. Big and great place. Great location for a couple's picture. Highly Recommended

The fountain was not operational. There is no correct information about the time. Websites info states it is ‘open’ but that doesn’t mean fountain is on. Disappointed.

Epic epic epic. Very old world, European, gorgeous marble fountain. I expect all the photos look the same but it is epic and beautiful. The story is also fun if you look it up. A nice walk from a skyline of Detroit photoshoot stop. Parking is free.

Beautiful memorial, the city has done an excellent job restoring it with large marble slabs to match the original pieces.

When I went to this fountain it was beautiful, I wouldn't go to Belle Isle specifically for this fountain, but if you are there or in the area (which I heavily recommend) you should stop at this fountain for a moment.

I visited during the off season so the fountain was not operational, but it was still so peaceful......until the wedding party bus showed up, then I had to go.

This is the first thing when you go on the Belle Isle island. drive from the right entrance and this will be the first thing on your left. People usually go there for wedding photoshoot and stuff. This is a popular place for tourists as well. For Canadians pay $9 for the day pass and you are good to go.

Use this fountain for so many memorable occasions. A land mark in the city and a destination for many photographers around the city.

Another iconic landmark of Detroit, another relic of the halcyonic days of Detroit's glory. It is a necessary stop if you are visiting Belle Isle. Make sure to read up on the history of the fountain. It is too long for a review, but worth the wikipedia dive. 5/5.
