Knew
we
were
in
trouble
from
the
start.
During
the
2
stop
enter
ticket
process,
employee
calls
out
“hey
Old
guy”
to
patron
who
missed
step
1.
Problem
was
that
we
were
there
to
see
X
a
bad
that
has
been
around
for
40
+
years,
we’re
all
“Old
Guy’s
&
Gals”
they
didn’t
know
who
was
playing.
Sadly
this
carried
over
to
the
sound
guy.
I’m
guessing
he
just
went
with
the
“
It’s
Punk
Rock
turn
everything
all
the
way
up”
X
is
famous
for
there
thoughtful
lyrics
and
male,
female
duet
vocals.
The
reverb
and
distortion
were
way
to
much
ruined
the
sound
as
they
tried
to
pack
20#’s
of
sound
in
a
10#
sack.
The
room
as
someone
else
mentioned
is
a
glorified
hallway,
long
and
narrow.
The
management
had
taken
many
efforts
to
counter
the
unfortunate
dimensions
by
adding
sound
deadening
insulation.
I
mentioned
the
sound
to
my
friend
who
has
performed
in
bands
and
saw
this
same
band
in
the
same
room
a
year
earlier
and
they
agreed,
sound
sucked.As
I
had
invested
a
few
hundred
dollars
and
a
couple
days
to
catch
X
after
35
years
of
fandom,
I
wanted
to
let
the
sound
guy
know.
Dumb
move
of
course,
“
Come
tell
me
that
in
the
Parking
lot,
Bro!!”
Was
the
response
(
btw
there
isn’t
a
parking
lot
).
Fortunately
the
outside
area
is
quite
comfortable,
and
the
sound
was
much
better.
I’m
pretty
sure
sound
guy
could
have
adjusted.
The
club
seemed
nice
,
drinks
were
affordable
room
was
fresh
and
clean
and
outside
was
awesome.
The
sound
Sucked
on
that
night
as
did
the
arrogance
of
sound
guy.
Venues
please
know
the
band
your
hosting,
get
an
idea
of
who
they
are
before
you
set
sound.
I
have
seen
shows
all
over
Detroit
for
over
4
decades
and
sound
wise
worst
experience
ever,
even
G.G.
Allan
had
better
sound.
Don’t
know
why
X
picked
El
Club?
You
certainly
won’t
find
me
there
again,
to
much
invested
to
not
be
able
to
see
the
band,
it
sounded
that
bad.
