DO NOT GO TO TEQUILA BLUE!!!! Currently in the process of suing tequila blue! It was a Saturday night and a group of our friends went out to celebrate another friends birthday! All went well until one of my friends went missing so we headed downstairs to find him. He was intoxicated and he was being asked by the bouncers to leave (understandable) however, as I got down there I told he bouncers I would escort my friend out myself and take care of him since I wasn't drunk. On our way out the door This white bouncer (about 6'3 muscular build, short hair, mid 30's) approached for no reason and started to antaganize my drunk friend on our way out of the door! I basically told him to chill out and that we were trying to leave and that he was being rude! Next thing you know I turn my back as we are walking out the front door and he shoves me and my friend from behind and our heads and faces smacked into either each others heads or the steel door frame (doesn't matter, which ever it was it was hard) hard enough to break my pair of false teeth that cost me a fortune! The bouncer started talking smack to us and I was obviously very upset so I started talking back at him. Moments later my gf comes out to see where I went and she tells me as she was walking out of the door the bouncer sexually harrasses her! Are you kidding me? The worst staff I've ever seen! The bartnenders have no personality and are very rude! And it's expensive for no reason! Will not come back and I am looking forward to seeing the owner in court! DO NOT GO TO TEQUILA BLUE!!!!

RACIST ESTABLISHMENT! Management profiles who can enter based on race. We came in to celebrate a friends’ birthday party, with a guest of 14, but they denied us because one of our male guest is wearing Abercrombie rip jeans, everything else that he was wearing is formal dress code. Minutes later they let people in with this white a guy wearing a hoodie and sweat pants. I confronted the bouncer about it and he just insisted that he’s following the dress code. I guess their dress code is to be white and be wearing gym attire. We felt that we were discriminated because most of us were asians. We were about to drop hundreds of dollars for drinks, but our race wasnt worth the business for them. Don’t come and don’t support this types of places. The other bad reviews here really shows what type of business they are.

The staff here are awful. Bartenders and manager. They lost my friends card, rudely dismissed us when she assured it wasn’t given back, then they found it and didn’t apologize or anything. Just kind of sucked. Manager was aggressive and shamed my friend for being upset about the card situation. Won’t be back here.

Had a great time coming out here for our first time. No cover charge was really nice, and the drinks were made strong enough for the prices which were actually pretty reasonable. All in all we hsd a good time here and I could definitely see us coming back next time we are downtown royal oak!

Oh my!!! Loved the place! My first interaction with Tequila Blue was a contact form on their website, boom!! They got right back to me with a very positive reply. Staff was friendly, place was clean, DJ was spot on!!! I was able to slip in a couple requests and he was very generous with me. Crowd was upscale vibe was very positive, drank water so cannot say how the drinks were. Bartender was great when I got my water if that helps. I am a 55 year old whits dude and did not feel out of place. Will be back!!

Gone here for years. Always a good time. Tonight they charged our whole group cover to get in and then wouldn't let in our last group member whose birthday it was. We asked for our money back and they closed the doors on us. Never will be back.

A friend of mine was kicked out of the bar for throwing up in the bathroom. There was no issue with leaving because we were in the wrong. After we left we overheard the bouncer call her a b**** and that he wished he would have elbowed her in the face. I don’t care how unruly someone is, you can’t conduct your business like that. When I spoke to the manager all he did was apologize and provide 2 free covers for when we come back (which I never plan on doing).

I was with a group of 15 friends celebrating a birthday. Out of everyone, I was picked out as not fitting their appearance standards and wasn't allowed in. Outrageous; I was trying to spend time with my friends who I rarely get to see. I guess highschool drama of looking like you're a part of the clique still applies to some people way past their adolescence.

The service was terrible. We had to wait a half an hour after being seated to place our order. When our food finally came none of us had silverware. When we asked for some we were told we would have to ask someone else. After asking 3 different people, we had to find a manager to ask. By the time we could eat our food it was cold and did not taste very good. Our waiter was very rude. He rolled his eyes whenever we asked him a question. I will definitely not be returning.

Floors are perpetually dirty no matter how slow the club is. There was pee all over the women’s bathroom floor. I’ve gotten roofied here and security doesn’t help at all. security and staff are very rude.

The DJ was way below average. The amount of awful transitions made me laugh. I still danced, but it was not great. I also got charged $12 for a well tequilla. I should of gotten Cas amigas for that. Would be fine never coming back :)

We came for a onesie bar crawl and they refused us service and physically removed someone trying to showing his id to get in. SO RUDE SO UNCALLED FOR. WILL NOT GO BACK

The bouncer was a complete dick. Made us leave when we still had full drinks. Then zeros in on the only black guy in our group & calles the cops on him.

This is one of my favorite locations to visit in Royal Oak. The venue is energetic. The staff is friendly and entertaining. As for the music, my preferred nights are to go when DJ B-Walk is working. Not only is his song selection and timing of song hit. His mixes are smooth and crisp in transition. After a long work week, this is a great place to have fun and let go.

My favorite club to be in on a Friday and Saturday night! I have been going here since a year and since then never went somewhere else. Shoutout to Dj B-Walk for being the best out there!

Honestly, the biggest thing keeping this place from 5 stars is how the staff acts when closing. That behavior alone puts this place at a 3. I get y'all wanna go home but if it's that serious, then don't play exit music at 2:05a and be surprised people are still standing around. Cut the music off at 1:59a and people will leave on their own. Play actual bad music at the end to motivate them. Besides that: everything else you want from a dance club is there. The DJ is above average and plays a variety of music. No discrimination on the genre too, besides country; which any respectable DJ would. The bar is fairly efficient at getting you drinks. The crowd is usually dope and very into dancing. The beauty level is also above average, not including me lowering it. The downs: The dancefloor gets sticky and dirtier the closer you get to the DJ booth. I've seen glass shatter numerous times, and because there's no floater, you literally will only see it addressed if a patron tells someone. The cover is $10 which isn't a bad price, but the vibe of the establishment doesn't justify it; especially when you consider that it used to be $5, that 5th Ave, a more middle-class establishment, charges the same or less, and that across the street they don't charge at all and have an equally good DJ with a bit less hip hop through the night. Another minor thing: no real light effects to go with the music. Not a deal-breaker, but I have to mention this so curious readers take a mental note and observe how much that benefits the energy when done right. Despite my review, I still recommend going here. The DJ alone is worth it. Unbiased opinion: I put him over most of the DJs in the area. Including Ferndale.

Staff sure likes to pick fights and try to get physical. This place seems to have the worst reviews of any place in RO and I’ve seen most of the stuff described in the 1 star reviews as well so these reviews are legit. Don’t spend your money here when it’s so easy to find an actual fun place downtown.

My sister went to this club on Friday and was roofied by someone. She did everything right by not leaving her drink unattended, she bought all her own drinks, etc. She isn’t sure who did it or when but please be aware this is happening at this establishment. GIRLS PLEASE BE CARFUL!!!! If it happened to my sister then it’s happening to other women as well. Please make sure you are using drink covers and staying near a group of well trusted people. She has already made a police report but I wanted to post this to raise awareness that this is going on and avoid this happening to any one else

I'm giving it a one because I can't give a zero. Made reservations, got there an hour before the show started and we still got a seat in the back corner and a high top was in front of us. It was hard to be engaged in the show when all you're looking at is the back of a persons head. The food was terrible, had a bite of the fish tacos and could not eat anymore. Service is terrible as well. Oh and super expensive, Royal Oak or not $17 for 3 tacos and nothing with it is horrible

Great atmosphere. The vibe at this place is on point. You can always count on having a great time here especially is DJ B-Walk is in the house.

We first went there for a halloween party a while back. The staff was fantastic. The atmosphere was amazing. We've been back atleast four times since then. This is definitely fun place.

“Owner” elbowed her way through our group, then threatened to have us thrown out. Went to 5th ave after, didn’t pay cover and had a great time. Avoid tequila blue!

Like so many of the women in these one star reviews, I too was drugged at this bar. After two drinks, I could hardly stand and ended up falling down the stairs as my boyfriend basically carried me out of the building. My mind was completely sober but my body was poisoned and incapacitated as I vomited all night. Oddly enough, I was with trusted friends the entire night and nobody touched my drinks. This has led me to the conclusion that it is obviously the establishment itself drugging women and probably hoping their friend group will leave them behind. It’s absolutely disgusting and my experience here has scarred me for years. If you care about the health and safety of you and your loved ones, please do not visit this horrific place.

Have a random $58 charge on my card, only went to the bar 4 times. Paid with cash once and the other 3 charges on my card are low amounts like 9 bucks. Will not be going back here since I literally had my money stolen by the bar staff.

My favorite place in Royal Oak to celebrate big occasions! The service is great from the hostess and servers, to the bartenders. It’s a fun atmosphere and the drink menu is spot on. 5/5 would recommend.

Came here for the 90s bar crawl. The crawl was overall weak but this place was probably the highlight of the crawl. But at one point they had no DJ going and the music became lackluster so I took that as a sign to go to bed at 10p on a Saturday.

It’s a nice place to hangout. The staff are not the friendliest but they’re ok. The drinks are good as well as the music. It could be better if they had someone for bathroom service (cleaning on the site) it’s not clean at all.

I'm here right now and so disappointed. The person (girl) was so rude when we questioned the cover charge. Then when seated no one came to the table. Went to bar to get drink, was told someone would come to the table - they never did. The piano players are good - if not here for a party would have turned around at the door. Would not recommend.

This was first time here. The service was nice, but the pricing was not what I expected. I was going to order tacos with my drink until the waiter told me $6 for one taco... I would call this place an over priced bar. I had a couple drinks with an appetizer and left.

It is the most bored place I have ever visited in Michigan... or USA maybe, no mexican music (as should be by the name Tequila), kind of expenssive.

Will not come back to eat here. I've had much better authentic Mexican food than this place. Food was ok, but overpriced. And you get charged for everything! first order of chips and salsa was free, but the salsa came in like a 2 oz bowl, so small, more like a sample size. definitely not enough for the basket of chips that you get. Chips were too salty. Ordered a 2nd bowl of salsa because the first one was obviously not enough, got charged 50 cents for it! They don't even have cheese dip here, what!? Not how a good Mexican restaurant should be run. Margaritas came in a cheap plastic glasses, not glass ones.

BEWARE: management will overcharge your tab! They overcharged my card by $6 and then refused to answer my phone calls or return the messages I left. I will never be going back to this dump. My favorite dance club! It's a piano bar on the first floor, and dance club on the second floor! The dance music is usually a good mix of throwback and current songs.

Pretty fun sometimes. The door bouncer here is A jagoff.... Watch out.

I celebrated my graduation earlier this evening in this excellent restaurant. Well we passed a magnificent evening and the restaurant was clearly the reason for the outstanding evening. The stuff contributed in a very nice manner, the meals were appetizing and my guests were so joyful. We shall absolutely visit again for more events. thanks very much.

We did an Master's event here for my company, and they were amazing! Easy to work with. We worked with both Megan and Charles throughout the day of event, and I could not have been happier! Good food, drinks, and all the employees were happy to help! Great place to hold a private venue! Thank you!

Went on a Thursday, had a pretty good time, and ladies were free. I almost did not go because of the reviews but the service was good.

The floors are disgusting! They are always sticky! The bathroom is awe full to! This place draws a nice crowd but the music is terrible. I’m not sure what dj they had 12/3 but he couldn’t do a proper transition to save his life. I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s been okay I think there’s better places in Royal Oak to go to.
