The wine here is amazing. Be aware there’s a $15 in-house wine corkage fee. I’ve been coming here for 6 years and today was the first day they’ve imposed the fee. Not sure how a $15 fee on a $20 bottle of wine makes sense. I love Royce and understand that there’s a high price to bringing great wines to us. But I don’t understand the high corkage fee (also served myself the wine).

Absolutely wonderful! We stopped in for some wine, and were offered some amazing suggestions from Ping! The red we ended up selecting was so good, and had a wonderful spice after note. The atmosphere was welcoming with hints of urban and boho decor. We arrived later in the night during a private party, but we received wonderful care. Ping went above and beyond to ensure we felt cared to and comfortable. 110% recommend and cannot wait to go back!

The Royce is such a cute space. They obviously have a great selection of wine, but their charcuterie offerings are really great as well. Keep an eye out for their special wine tastings - they always bring in a fun selection.

Great Downtown Detroit wine bar. Features light fare, pretty spectacular cocktails and a wide range of wines. Personable and knowledgeable staff. Intriguing monthly wine club with unique pairings. Most wines seem to be from smaller vineyards and are a true treat.

My friend took me here. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely spot. We sat upstairs in the loft area which is a very decent size. I enjoyed every sip of my Spanish wine. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a romantic evening or just want to hang and talk with a friend. There is also plenty of room for bigger groups. If you love wine and is searchihg for something "different",  this is the place.

First time and really enjoyed it! An unexpected nice surprise! The summer sausage, bread, oil and mechengo cheese was excellent! Peach sangria and pal ale were a hit!!!

Great wines by the glass and a well manicured selection of wines by the bottle. It's not an overwhelming selection, but a very good one. The meats and cheeses are mostly typical with some interesting options sprinkled in (smoked duck is terrific). I always enjoy my visits here and make it a point to stop in when I'm in town.

I was recently there for a private event for a friends birthday. It was a group of 10 women on the lofted portion of the establishment. At first the night was going spectacular, the host providing the wine was amazing and very informative and then it took a weird turn. During our wine tasting event, our host left for the night after we completed the wine tasting and passed us off to another host (which was completely fine). When we were upstairs enjoying our time, a random stranger off the street was able to sneak past all of the host and bar staff and come up to our private event. This person had on sunglasses, a hoodie, sweats and a backpack. In this day and age with the amount of violence and mass shootings, we were shocked this person who we DID NOT know was about to walk right past all staff and come right upstairs and disrupt our private event. A member of our party had to sneak away because the individual would not leave, to get an employee. Once they the staff asked the person to leave, the staff at Royce were apologetic but allowed her to just come upstairs. They stated “we thought she was with you all because she walked in so confidently”. We are all African American women who were dressed upscale for an event and they assumed another African American female with a hoodie, sunglasses, a backpack and sweats was apart of our wine tasting party. There needs to be better security and checking all individuals who walk through the door. I did not feel safe at this establishment. A perfect night turned sour due to the poor security.

We always enjoy stopping here when we come to Detroit! We came here recently with my family and we sat outside with a bottle of wine and had a wonderful evening! We ordered various cheeses, bread and oil and chorizo and was delicious. The staff are very attentive and are always willing to give advice towards which wine would be best!

I love this wine shop, and it was very near our place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He often suggested what wine to buy rather than the one I had in my mind. He was very knowledgeable about wines. I have been a loyal client since they started their business here in this city. They also had a bar inside and have some drinks while chatting with a friend or to a new friend you will find inside the shop.

Went randomly one night they had karaoke that night had a blast it's got another level inside everyone was friendly and very welcoming everyone supported one another even if you couldn't sing the songs with karaoke and also have their own different types of why and even offer you to buy it while in there and you can drink your own bottle of wine at the table and very nice low-key spa and everything is done through cure skin you cure scanned your order for drinks food and you QR scan your songs for karaoke bar staff was nice welcoming environment and haven't been to a decent place and a long time and I give this 5 Stars this is not meant for a younger crowd this is strictly for 25 and up and people who are on their grown ish. It's a small business not a lot of room but do host private party's

Excellent wine and beer selection! The employees are really professional and always helpful. He frequently recommends the finest wine for the occasion. Portobello Lane, my father's favorite gin, is also available. They are the most affordable of any wine shop in town. I'm looking forward to returning.

My wife and I visited the Royce for the first time last weekend, this place is very unique. Has an Italian feel with excellent wine options. The charcuterie options are excellent as well, albeit a bit expensive. A great experience though, would highly recommend if you're in the area!

I've been going to the Royce for a few years now. Used to be a member of their wine of the month club which I highly recommend (assuming they still do it) if you want to try new wines at a very reasonable cost. I usually stop by here before or after events downtown. Great selection of wines and they offer good cheese and charcuterie options to snack on. The staff are some of the most knowledgeable humans around, you'll definitely learn some new and interesting things about wine.

A very elegant feel in this establishment. Classy and cozy. Great wine selection and the cheese and bread plates are pretty fresh and delicious.

I cannot describe how wonderful this place is. The bookshelves of wine complete with sliding ladders give it such a cozy vibe, the staff is welcoming and warm, and the wines are diverse and delicious. This is my favorite place in Detroit for a cozy date night or a long conversation catching up with a friend or two. If you love wine, you'll adore this place; if you don't know much about wine, ask the staff for a suggestion and they're always spot-on. And on top of all of that, the wine tastings on Wednesdays are free and often run by a small business owner. You won't regret trying it! (There's often street parking a block or two west if you're not finding any, fyi.)

I have been going to Royce since it has opened and for the first time I have had a bad experience at checkout. A wine bar should never have a corkage fee if they are charging retail prices the wine (which I served myself). Corking fees are for restaurants that allow you to bring in your own bottle of wine. THIS IS NOT TYPICAL. I purchased a 20 something dollar bottle of wine and found out at checkout that there was an additional $15 corkage fee. I’ve been going here for six years and Typically spend over $100 each time. I am debating I’m not going back.

Home away from home. We've always been given great guidance when looking for a wine to enjoy in store or take home. They have a delicious snacks, including great charcuterie. The overall vibe is super chill and a great way too spend a few hours.

Amazing to say the least. Best staff ever and the very small menu they have for food is exceptional.

Stumbled upon this place the night of the tree lighting before heading to dinner. It was so nice inside and the staff was great. SOOOO many wines to choose from. I will definitely be back!

Usually our Sunday spot for a couple of casual glasses of wine and some charcuterie. We've also purchased an occasional bottle of wine as well. The place itself reminds me of a wine library, it's very cute.

Great service. Amazing selection. My favorite wine lives here and here only.
