The Scarab Club is easily one of my favourite event spaces to work in. Not only is it steeped in history, but the spaces they have are beautiful and unique. The staff are also really helpful and super friendly. I look forward to coming back.

Very beautiful place - was here for a wedding and they did a wonderful job. Could have stayed upstairs in the art gallery and mini library for days, checking out all signatures.

We recently had a wedding here and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Judy was a pleasure to work with and Mary at Caucus Club Catering did an outstanding job on the food. The club is "Old World " feel and just a great place to host an event. We had the ceremony on the second floor, reception in the gallery and cocktail hour outside. The flow is great and the staff is very attentive and friendly. We used Christine at Blumz for the florist and once again, they did a tremendous job. I would highly recommend this gem in Detroit.

One of the coolest places in Detroit. Stop by, take in the fantastic atmosphere and check out the art. Be sure to make it upstairs to check out the lounge and autographed ceiling beams.

We got married at the Scarab Club in June 2023 and cannot recommend it enough to anyone planning an event. The garden was an absolute dream. Our guests were so impressed with the venue and the entire staff was so kind and professional. We had a great, easy time with communication with Judy leading up to the event, and the day of ran so smoothly. Check out this unique venue - it’s an absolute gem! And we purchased a unique piece of art that will always remind us of our wedding day - we will definitely be frequent visitors!

The scarab Club has been around for many years and is wonderful tribute to art and culture within the community. If you’re ever in the Museum District The, sure to check those hidden gem out.

Nice show. It was great to talk with a few of the artists, and those who work behind the scenes

Planned an evening event with Scarab Club. My contact person was Judy who was incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive! The event was perfect. Could not have been a better experience. Thank you!!

This is a cool historic resource for the art community in Detroit. They host a wide variety of art related events and show throughout the year.

We pulled up to see the Scarab Club exhibits and immediately was confronted by a woman in the parking lot in a hostile manner. She asked if we were members, and she demanded to know why we were there. We answered we wanted to see the exhibit. She said "what exhibit"? We said the Scarab Club exhibits. Then she said there was a private event starting soon. She was not welcoming at all and wanted to make sure we left before the "important" people got there, not us rif raf. Her attitude was just awful. She identified herself as events manager, so we can only assume her name is Judy, by looking at the website. We won't be attending any of her events any time soon, if that's how she welcomes people to the Scarab Club.

We drove in for the 2023 Contemporary Photography exhibition opening. As usual, the 'Club' was busy & the photographs very interesting. Note that they have a tiny parking lot (we paid to park in DIA lot). It was a Warm evening, but the venue was still surprisingly comfortable. If they have an exhibition talk you are interested in the club is worth a visit.

I love going to all the events; the Garden Party, the Halloween Party, etc. Make it a point to see the art shows! They always select some of the most beautiful and unique art pieces to showcase. See you there!

Wonderful venue for small installations & yes, now independent film. BTW-that's Diego Rivera's signature up there among the many other talented artists who have visited this space.

Dangerous steps rugs and unorganized. Just attended a wedding there. They didn't start setting up until guests were arriving. Ran around like they have never catered before. Do not use this place for an event. Rugs that tripped people dark stair cases. We had a guest fall from not being able to see the stairs. They had promised to light the stairs, but they also said they do this all the time! I would never recommend this for any event unless you are willing to accept inferior service and a dangerous building. Not impressed at all by this place.

Though the gallery was small compared to the DIA across the street, the exhibit was excellently curated. The building and grounds are an exhibit in themselves. Worth a visit.

The Scarab Club is a historic art gallery and artists' studio in Detroit's Cultural Center. The staff is open and welcoming. The contemporary socially conscious art and the historic Renaissance architecture give this gallery a unique presence in the art community.
