No words to describe the carelessness, lack of compassion, in ER no less, I am a retired Physician, what happened last night bordered crime against all medical oaths. My ADULT son had sever abdominal pain, intractable nausea and vomiting, test were done after an hour of suffering, followed by pain and nausea meds, then was left in a wheelchair all the time as were other patients for lack of beds. Nurses surprisingly were not busy, I asked politely for nausea medication again an hour later, the reply( we are busy with priorities) ! There were none!! , had to wait for another 30 minutes, no response, asked again, , busy they said. ER doctor comes by nurses station, Asked him politely, his reply ( I put the order an hour ago) ! Nurses response, we are busy!!!! My son was violently vomiting with pain, I said please, it wont take much time, the order is in ( the doctor was listening), to my shock one nurse said you’re not the patient, companion not allowed, !!! Told her , I will leave once you give him his nauseas med, . Her final reply supported by the other nurse was ( no, we will get to him when we can, please leave) all that they knew I am a physician and the petty part was the ER doctor (who never left his computer station to examine my son) was silent, Eventually I had to put my son in a wheelchair to my car, drove him to Henry ford hospital where the treatment was 180 degrees opposite. HF Professional, scientific, polite, compassionate, far better building, staff, and rooms. Beaumont Dearborn ER It’s a disgrace. I wonder if a physician and his son are dealt with this way, what about the regular people!! I taught and practiced medicine for over 30 yeas in Michigan, this is the absolute worse institution I’ve ever witnessed. I will right a full report addressed to the Hospital administration, and will publish sh the report and videos on the appropriate outlets. One important last thing, after reading the reviews of all the people ( all one star) , it’s very clear that Beaumont system administrators don’t care, they don’t reply 99% of the time and the two times they did it was a standard reply, ( we will address the issues)! Clear disrespect, disregard to all, and sadly intentionally despising patients and people and authorities.

Terrible patient services. No empathy whatsoever. My 10 year old suffered a concussion. His doctor ordered a cat scan of his head stat. I was there for over 2 hours waiting just to be registered. I asked the ladies at the desk what was the hold up. They said they didn’t know what I was talking about. I realized there was a shift change so I explained to them and I showed them the paper the doctor gave me. They asked for a script with the order which the doctor faxed over within 5 minutes. I asked if they received it yet and the said no to fax again which the doctor did. They finally received the script with the order. Only to come back and tell me they cannot do a cat scan of his head without an appointment. I was there for almost 3 hours at this point. My child is suffering from a head injury and I was fasting. They made no exception they didn’t even try to make things right. All of this and I have top notch health insurance. Beaumont Dearborn hospital and imaging center, you really need to step it up. Your employees need training. You need to work on hospitality and open communication with your patients. I have never experienced anything like this.

The worst hospital ever! They amputated the patient's leg when he was mentally frightened and hadn't tried any other options! I find nurses on floor 6, the most frustrating; they don't respond to patients' needs, and if they do, they yell, "WHAT YOU WANT?". This patient waited today for his 4th surgery for over 18 hours without drinking or eating anything!

Patient privacy isn’t a thing. You’ll stand or be lucky to sit for 12 hours in the ER and have them call out your name. Expected to jump up and have your results said “discreetly” with a bunch of people around you. There are beds in the hallways with people on them and apparently that’s OK. I can only imagine what would happen if there was a fire. You’ll wait for hours and not see anyone. The hospital is dirty. Not necessarily their fault though if their CEO doesn’t care, why should they? I would not recommend. Definitely would never go back.

I have a very hard time in hospitals from past experiences where I’ve been treated less than kindly. This experience was different because of RN Leanne. She not only anticipated my needs and made sure to be fast in handling dosing medicine, she also went out of her way to accommodate my needs and make me feel like a human instead of a wrist band. I has to share this bc she has restored my faith that there are kind and great nurses still in the field when I had all but given up. She is the difference. Thank you for helping me

Doctors, nurses and Techs have been amazing. ER check in staff and security are the rudest I have every experienced. ER check in staff to busy on their phone while you stand in front of them and need to get their attention. Security down right nasty. People in beds I. The hall way for over 16 hours sitting in soiled beds. This is horrific. I would be ashamed if I was an employee within this system. Administration needs to do something!

I don't like going to the emergency room in Beaumont hospital Dearborn. It's the worst. I had to sit there for hours. I didn't feel well and I was getting annoyed. I would ask someone is someone gonna see me. What's going on? They said well we are busy with other emergencies like someone coming in in an ambulance. I was not the only one complaining. It was terrible everyone lined up in the hallway either in a wheelchair, bed or regular chair. They need to hire more staff. I was told they had no beds. Then I was told there was a bed. Then a few hours later I was told there wasn't. They need to do something about this situation. I spent 15 hours in the er a month ago I was ready to go home. Then all of a sudden they called my name. I should of went home.

Excellent hospital with very caring staff. All the employees are good from the check-in clerk, the medical assistants, the nurses, and the physicians. Dr. Musa in the Emergency room Is the best. The nurses on the floor are extremely patient-friendly and very professional and extremely helpful.

It’s the worst ER have ever been to. I don’t like their way of doing everything they do. From coming in through the door all the way to the doctor treating you. If you know else where go there. Will be way better than those guys. They are rude and don’t know how they operate maybe some of the nurses and doctors are okay but the rest. You can send all of them to school to learn how to treat people right.

I don’t even smoke cigarettes when I got in this room I had my boyfriend go to the front and tell them the bathroom needs clean because it did smell like freaking cigarettes, nasty tissues, all over the floor. I’m posting the video and I’m posting the garbage all over the room, they leave it for days. I’ve been here for three days for an MRI now I gotta have surgery Friday and they’re in here harassing me I’m crying in pain saying I smoke cigarettes, when I don’t smoke cigarettes I don’t smoke vapes this is pure wild something needs to be done about this and I won’t stop till there is and I am not allowed to record people coming at me in the hospital accusing me of doing some thing I’m not allowed to record he said it’s against the law so if anybody knows this law, please inform me on it a little more because I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to the second. He said, don’t record me. I took it off of him and didn’t record him personally record the voice is so everybody can hear what they were saying to me, accusing me of. my neighbor side of the room ain’t been here since I got here and they have not clean the room. I had my fiancé go down there and tell them you need to be cleaned the are harassing me I tried up load video and I hope you all can see it how people are treated here when they are in pain supposed to have surgery Friday I’m feeling like they are racist very because I’m who’re and there Arabic while they laugh and smirk about a situation, that ain’t funny at all, my sister works at U of M and Ik my rights let’s just say that and I would never ever smoke in a hospital seventh floor is a shame The lady that does drew my blood. I had her go smell the bathroom. She says she don’t smell no smoke. It smells like a bathroom. And that my room smells good. Smh this is wild their machine literally fell on my head last night. Off of a pole that it wasn’t on barely clearly

My mother was taken to this hospital. Awful experience. Disrespectful nurses and doctors to my sisters from what they told me about their time their with my. When I called It was a nightmare to get anyone to explain what was happening. I was transferred from one person to another just to be put on hold and then hung up on. Eventually someone did explain the situation. Then out of the blue yesterday I get a call from sister that my mother was discharged from hospital. So she drove back to get her only to find out she was transferred to another hospital. No one called me or any other family to let us know where she was now at. I later found out they don't have to tell us anything about it because she's an adult and we're just her kids. Horrible experience!

I told myself I’d never come back here after I had my son because they overlooked my allergies and used medical tape for my epidural. I had to be on steroids for a whole month and told I should have advocated for myself even though it’s listed and I told them. Now I’m currently in the er. I’m having abdominal pain which could be a cyst, gallbladder or appendix.. all they have done is order me pain meds which aren’t helping and I can’t lay down on my back for the ct scan or ultrasound because when I lay down my chest begins to have shooting pains and I can’t breath. They have me stuck in a room with other patients it’s been an hour since I’ve seen anyone. Oh and I got yelled at because I push ally can’t sit on the table

Prioritization is really bad. services are fine the specialists are kind but we have people techs coming outside the door saying a name waiting 10 seconds then walking away while all of us without bed or food service are waiting test results, not even further testing and somehow they are 5x past their suggested results time. I have a needle in my hand i havent ate for over 12 hours and when I asked for an update they said they will come. Im ready to just walk up to them and ask if its cancer or something to tell me just so I can leave like I didnt care anymore. Im dying in your results room and the lighting is TERRIBLE its 6am and the rooms lit up like the 4th of july. we are all hydrated mind you everyone has had some iv solution

The single worst experience we have ever had at a Hospital System. My wife fell and cracked her two front teeth and lacerated her nose and a few other minor lacerations around the nose bridge. We arrived and initially it went well enough. Check in, blood draws, the initial workups. However, shortly after that(about an hour in by this time), my wife was sent out to sit in the ER waiting room because they were overbooked. I’ve never in my life seen hospital staff sent patients out to the ER waiting room to wait. She was given a single tissue to wipe blood from her laceration on her nose, which only stopped bleeding when I went and used our OWN bandaid from the first aid kit in the car. Same for the ice pack/gauze. We provided all that ourselves because no staff found it imperative to clean the wounds or put a bandage on the bleeding wounds. Total negligence here. One nurse did offer to get an ice pack after I asked her, and they were not cold at all, but she did at least get something for my wife. I realize that this is just the world we live in now and medicine and treatment are not synonymous with good care and empathy anymore. This is so clear at Beaumont Dearborn. If you care about your own mental well being, and the well being of whomever you are bringing, think again. While you’re waiting 7-8 hours for a doctor to report a test result, think hard about ever coming here again. I’ll be filing a DIFS complaint and a Quality Care complaint with my insurance.

The worst hospital! We are going to sue them for sure! My dad was in a really bad car accident, because the accident was in Dearborn sadly that’s the only hospital he had to go to! They discharged him after doing all the tests telling him everything is ok. He couldn’t stand or walk to leave. They kept him another hour and discharged him! I wouldn’t say discharged him, but actually kicked him out! The second day he couldn’t tolerate the pain he went to Henry Ford Hospital, they did all the tests and found out he had broken bones! Beaumont hospital sent him home, discharged him with BROKEN BONES!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THEIR PROBLEM????????????? I can’t believe this? He couldn’t walk to leave the hospital after a really bad car accident and yet you kicked him out after couple hours??? What kind of test devices do you have that can’t detect a broken bone? What kind of doctors do you have? You hear this in hospitals in third world countries not the US! just straight up awful and disgusting!

Do not, Do NOT, DO NOT have a baby here. I can’t speak for other areas of the hospital but the MBU is terrible. I don’t care if you live across the street, do yourself a favor save you & your family the headache and go somewhere else. Post natal care is pitiful. Majority (not all) of the nurses are lazy & completely unhelpful. If you order food from the kitchen, it takes 1-2 hours to be brought to you and it’s nasty as a Megan the stallion song. The portions aren’t big enough to feed a pigeon yet alone a woman who just pushed a baby out. I could write 5 pages about the neglect, the lazy nonchalant nurses, the poor care, the discharge process, but I’ll leave it at that. I’ll deliver my next baby myself on the hood of my car before I go back there for anything

I have been hospitalized in Oakwood for the past 6 weeks. Like most places, it has its pros and it's cons. The cons are extreme...long wait in the ER, it feels like you're left to rot in a bed/chair in a hallway waiting for a room. While you are waiting, make sure you hold on tight to everything that you brought in otherwise you'll end up losing something and not getting it back like my eyeglasses. Some of the nursing staff was the only thing that made my 6 weeks somewhat tolerable... Warren, Brenden, Sierra, & Renee on the 5th floor were all outstanding and phenomenal. I will be forever indebted to their compassion and commitment that they have to towards their job. My direct doctors seemed genuinely concerned for my well-being. Besides the nightmare that I had in the emergency room waiting for a bed, overall it wasn't too bad of a stay. I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars knocking off points for the emergency room, some of the rude staff I encountered, and the quality of food from room service. Stay away from the turkey and the chicken,it's extremely dry.

Can you give negative stars? The service in this ER is the absolute worst. I’ve read a bunch of other reviews on the negative side and understand them all. Without going into my own detail of today because I’m still infuriated, I would never set foot in this dump of a hospital again. Service was less than pathetic. And, I love the response to all the negative reviews about how they strive for excellence. What an absolute joke. This is the only way I can express myself without being arrested by their security team. Oakwood. Beaumont. Corewell. I don’t care what you call yourself. Absolute worst!

Waited for 6 hours in the ER. My 14 yr old fractured his foot. There was an hour or more between each task. He had an x ray and CT scan. I understand that they're busy, but the things we waited on wouldn't have taken long. We're shouldn't be leaving at 3am. The ER tech was great. The doctor was great, but the nurses kind of seemed to be doing nothing. 🤷‍♀️ Idk. I've def had better care elsewhere.

I stayed with my mom 5 days in second floor she was very sick She had stomach bacteria , My advice to all who want to get there if you have no other choice do not approach this hospital , The hospital is not good and not completely clean. There are not enough beds, especially in the emergency room. The wait is very long. They do not distinguish between a person who is very tired and sick and needs more care, and a person whose condition is stable. Their only concern is your information, what is your health insurance, and does this cover it or not? I did not and will not enter this The hospital again must be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized and the team changed.

My daughter was seen at her docs office today, & gave Instructions to go to the ER , we headed to Oakwood main , there’s over 20 people in chairs in the hallway in the emergency room, told me I was rude an they would refuse to see her ! She is weak can’t walk an can’t sit good in this chair , they don’t care about nobody’s health ! I would like to know how do they know who is who with tons of people with IVs an passing out meds ?!?! Times have changed ! Dianne with ultrasound was yelling at me in front of my 8 year old child!

Worst hospital trip I’ve partaken in. Let’s start from the beginning! The IV is first and like the previous comments stated. It seemed like this was his first time doing it. No care is taken with insertion and it caused more pain than the actual issue I came in for. No one would take it out as blood kept running though my IV after it was flushed!! Never had that experience before!! Me being alone and kinda scared I took it upon myself to just do urine samples instead of a CT scan so they could take the IV out, and once I continued to cry in pain and INSIST they took it out. They did. Then took my urine sample and tried to send me home immediately, when they could’ve gotten what they needed from my urine. I said I would wait so I’m waiting. But it feels more like Dearborn Medical School and NOT Dearborn Hospital. Dr A was my doctor and everyone just walked past me as I sat in pain and begged for them to take my IV out

Nice hospital staff but their Covid regulations suck. You come here for emergency surgery and they will not let anyone back to see your loved ones. Every other hospital in the area does maybe they should look into their regulations when a patient goes into emergency surgery and they do not care for the family waiting to see the one they love after a traumatic event.

Took my friend in because his doctor called and said he had a blood clot. He went through check in and they decided to keep him because of the blood clot. So 8 hours later, he still has no room, hospital has not started any medicine for the blood clot. Hospital has not done any testing They haven't ordered food for him or told him why he can't eat. Frankly, he would have been better off going to a vet, he would have gotten better service.

I was very comfortable being treated at Beaumont Hospital. The entire staff was very pleasant. I was treated in a reasonable amount of time. I would recommend this hospital to everyone I know. I have never met an entire staff that was so gentle and respectful. Thank you. You all are angels.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

My mom was rushed into the ER and apparently according to the person on the phone that answers for the emergency department since she was only there for 28 minutes she insinuated that I called too soon. Apparently caring about your parent is supposed to be based on how long that they’re there and you’re supposed to wait a certain amount of time to call. I just think they need better people to answer the phone that actually have a heart in Care.

It's 315am time to do blood draws. After being here for 6 days now were going to wake you up at 315am to take the same blood draw we have been taking all week. Now your awake with your arm hurting go back to sleep. Then leave an extra needle floating around afterward for the kiddies to play with? Other than that, great doctors, 90% nurses fantastic, nurses assistants great. Ultrasound effective but poor bedside manner.

This is the WORST hospital I have ever been to.. My sister had a C-Section here two days ago, she is currently still admitted and she has had the worst birthing experience ever. The nurses have all been completely horrible to her, her baby is in NICU first for low heart rate, then a nurse told her there was no reason he is there he has been perfect, now its another reason completely and yet again the same nurse says he is fine she dont understand why they are keeping him. My sister had a major surgery and can barely walk and the nurses ignore her and dont help her to go see her Son in NICU, They dont give her the information she asks for, they are rude every single person here but maybe 2-3.. Then she made her way down to get food and refilled her soda, no signs posted saying no refills and was yelled at by a very rude women and told no refills, my sister said im sorry what should I do, the lady told her throw it away, and then started a argument and called security on us.. Do not recommend this hospital to the worst enemy.

The Emergency registration didn’t do good job as my mother was bot able to talk and they kept us for 2.5 hours in the waiting room then we went in and found she left alone and non talk to us why she brought to the hospital she stayed from 2:12 pm till 10 pm and non take her medicine list from us Then after we moved to the CCU unit the service was excellent to the point Kaite (RN) spent good time to teach us about my mother condition as well as Dr. Willaim . Thanks for all hard workers and I hope ER will get it together

My parent’s had the worst experience at Beaumont Dearborn on 6/17. They showed up to the EC around 2pm, and left without treatment around 11 pm due to an insane wait time and inhumane conditions. It was confirmed by my parents, and hospital staff, that there were 70 to 80 patients lined up along the hospital walls sitting in uncomfortable chairs and laying on gurneys in hopes of getting a bed and room. According to my father, an attendant told him that the number of suffering patients lining the halls was up to 120 the previous day. To add, a gentleman who “helped” my father onto a gurney did so by suggesting that my father, who has progressive MS, “swing” his legs onto a gurney. Anyone who is actually knowledgeable about how to help patients with different diagnoses, would not have made such a suggestion. As a former employee of Beaumont RO, these subpar conditions and lack of adequate staff and resources doesn’t surprise me. I was under the impression that after a few years since my departure and the Beaumont-Spectrum merger things within the health system would improve, but unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I had to have a colonoscopy there. I prefer having it across the street because you get a private room. The ladies that took care of me were first rate. I dont like getting ivs in my hands but this older lady was patient and kind. She numbed my hand first and i barely felt it going in. She was funny also.

Every one at this hospital doesn’t do their job right. They’ll leave the patient in the hall for 7++ hours without even checking up on them. My grandfather was in here for shingles and he is on an oxygen tank. And they didn’t even think of checking to see if it was done. When it clearly was. They had him waiting without any medications they took his blood work and that was it we never got results. We ask for a supervisor and they look at us like we’re small and unable. We talked to every nurse that passed by and they all didn’t know a thing. We called his doctor in Allen park and he said he wanted to speak with someone and they declined it and didn’t take my phone. This hospital will leave you to die without helping you or your family I suggest Henry ford. These people only want hours to make money and not care about any of the patients. Lobby wasn’t full when we came In we literally were the 3rd people. The doctor made it seem like it was an emergency and left us here. With nothing and everyone avoids our room. This hospital should have more respect and care

I had an excellent experience and was well cared for and treated with respect by the maternity department staff, Dr's and nurses. If I could recall the names of all who cared for me, I would say they were all amazing and an asset to the field of medicine. Very grateful to have had my daughter at this hospital. Thank you to all the hospital staff for doing what they are passionate about.

Stay out of this hospital if you care for your loved ones especially fourth floor ICU The WORST!! Worst Nurses possible that I've ever experienced my whole life. These so called nurses in the ICU omg God help the sick that are admitted there. To be specific a nurse named Nina needs another profession!! The most rudest, unprofessional woman we ever encountered!! She don't have any common knowledge when it comes to dealing with the elderly. My dad was admitted to her unit, she was giving my dad Seroquel without informing us what there giving him making him delusional belittling him defaming his character, yelling at him as if he was garbage we walked in on her yelling at my dad telling him to poop on himself and he didn’t want to he was mobile and wanted to fight his sickness as he should you will never know if your loved one is treated with respect. He was crying saying this nurse was calling him names NINA specifically when you asked to speak to a doctor they will say no doctor is available and get mad your asking questions or coming to visit your family member. These type of people are around our sick loved one's to care for them!!! A job!! they! Chose to do!!! may God help us. Never leave your love ones alone fight to stay with them.

My mother is currently in Oakwood hosp short stay. Her nurses are absolutely amazing! Brittany and Maha are so very caring and understanding and all around a sweet, kind and caring person. There are other nurses that have cared for her too that are great, I just don't know their names. Being that I live in Georgia and can't be there, I am glad she is in good hands. Thank you nurses for all you do!

People PLEASE LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS AND AVOID. THIS. HOSPITAL!!!! I AM BEGGING YOU!! They kept my loved in there for DAYS, couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them, MISDIAGNOSED them, and then Today released them on the basis that they just couldn’t figure out what was wrong. There is no way this facility is used to help people. Now my fam is currently heading to debt and wasn’t even helped. This place is an utter disgrace, and I’m starting to see that Detroit hospitals and the areas around them are horrible for treatment or help! Find something further out, it might just save you or your loved one!!!!

Never again! My mom had a concussion and could hardly walk. The police officer at the front door was so mean. He made my minor daughter leave the building alone at night and wouldn’t let her come with us. Didn’t offer my elderly mother a wheelchair and aggressively made her walk through security even though she could hardly walk. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. After all of this the hospital released her in severe pain and zero monitoring. We got better help at the freakin urgent care. Don’t go here.

My dad recently had a triple bypass here. He said that it was the best hospital experience he’d ever had. I also was treated very kindly by several staff members. One of the staff—who was walking me to where I needed to go—pointed out a woman and told me she was the new head of the hospital. She furthermore said that she’d made “so many good changes already,” and seemed to be almost in awe of her. She wasn’t the only person who said nice things about the head lady, either. Several nurses spoke about being so much happier in their jobs since Corewell had taken over. Happy employees treat other well. Who would have thunk? (/sarcasm). I’m glad to see the changes.

Most of the nurses are nice there but there was 1 named Candice on the 6th floor I asked to speak to her before my mother was discharged because I had questions she wouldn’t come she sent a assistant when i asked to speak to the nurse for a reason. I found that very rude maybe she shouldn’t be in the medical field if she doesn’t have compassion and respect the patients. A whole hour and she couldn’t come to the room for a couple mins. Unprofessional nurse. And careless.

My husband was yesterday in the hospital with Doctor Muhammad AZRAK and my husband is very happy with the attention, the service of the entire team, the cleanliness of the rooms, the speed of care, the detailed explanation of the steps to follow and the satisfactory results. We recommend 100% and we appreciate the excellent attention of the Doctor and his team. Today they called to follow up and find out about the patient and that was in less than 24 hours.

Just had a total hip surgery today Don’t ever have surgery here at this place. They don’t know how to control your pain whatsoever and if they do, it’s very little not sure if the nurses are using it. It seems like water extremely disappointed in this place really had high hopes. And the prep surgery nurses really don’t know how to start an IV and I have excellent veins. I am still here. Can’t wait to get out of this hell hole. I will definitely be leaving in Beaumont and going to another hospital service. They’re really going down the tubes it’s not about the people or the patients anymore. It’s more about running a business.

Worst experience ever! Went to get a echo. Was told to move my car I was parked where non staff was parked, so why do I have to move? Because there is a security guard that couldn't become a police officer so he wants to throw good weight around! Then I went to call and cancel my appointment very upset! The cardiologist floor who answered told me there is a garage I tried twice it would not let me in. She didn't want to hear me crying! So and put me on hold ! Needles to say I didn't go and they stressed me out! Never again!

My dad had a very unexpected stay here recently and staff was AMAZING! ER-thank you for saving my dad’s life. As an ER nurse myself, I can’t thank you guys enough for all you do. The nurses on 3 south were also great, especially Diala and Dana. Thank you for taking such good care of him and being so thoughtful and kind.

The worst hospital care!!!!! my cousin had a 12 minute seizure. She suffered from partial paralysis l. They ran tests and couldn't figure out what was the cause of all this. The doctor didn't do much. They said they would evaluate her and see a neurologist. They did nothing and discharged her. the didn't clean the bathroom the whole time she was there. There was blood in the bathroom that didn't belong to my cousin.they are a disgrace!!!

Not even 24 hours of me being discharged after having my baby and having to have an emergency cesarean , a rash popped up on my face. Hours go by and the rash turned into little blisters at the top of my nose right by my left eye. By day two the rash spread down my nose. Day three the blisters had gotten bigger and even started getting little pockets. I tried calamine spray, cetaphil, hydrocortisone and vaseline but nothing seemed to be working . Later that evening I felt I was getting a swollen lymph node that was sore when you touched it right above my collar bone. Day four 7:00 am I felt another swollen lump but this time it’s under my chin and felt more bigger and more uncomfortable than the first one. I went to the hospital that same morning and told them everything that was going on and they diagnosed me with Herpes Zoster (Shingles) . I felt like it wasn’t true I’m only 21 years old and I’ve never had the chickenpox and even had the vaccine when I was younger. How could you get the Shingles without having chickenpox? After I got discharged I called my doctors office to make a same day appointment because I needed a second opinion. At first they were saying shingles but I told them I’ve never had chickenpox and I got the vaccine. The doctor said he wanted to go ask the senior attending what’s his thoughts on what could it be. The doctor came back and gave me a different diagnosis. Antibacterial infection is what he said I have because his attending didn’t think it was shingles so he ruled it as an infection. A day go by and I was taking the prescriptions that were proscribed for me but it was still just getting worse. The morning after I see tiny blisters coming in on my eyelid so I went back to the hospital but this time I go to a different hospital to see if they could more to help. But the diagnosis was the same, shingles. But this time I asked more questions. I asked “how is it possible for me to get shingles when I’ve never had the chickenpox and also got the vaccine ?”. The doctor answered “it is still possible for you to get shingles even if you never had the chickenpox and have gotten the vaccine”. I was so confused I forgot to ask how. My mom told me she never gotten me a vaccine to something that I could still catch. Even a nurse came to me and said it was odd that I have shingles because of how young I am. I eventually accepted that I just had shingles without knowing how. Later when I got home I did some research. My question was “how could I get shingles if I never had the chickenpox?”, a article said “If you haven't had chickenpox or been vaccinated against chickenpox, you can get the virus from contact with someone who has shingles blisters.” My next question was “ How long does shingles take to come out after contact?”. It came back that an article said “After about 1 to 5 days, a shingles rash will appear on one side of the body, often in a single characteristic band around one side of the torso or face.” Which the rash only attacked the left side of my face. So which leads to this hospital and their staff that exposed me to the shingles right after having my baby and my immune system being so weak that I easily caught the virus.

Awful experiences every time I’ve been there. Edit: Received same doctor twice, misdiagnosed twice. He belittled what he thought were minor things and it was heavily implied I was wasting his time (They had wasted 6+ accumulated hours of my time waiting in a room on a single day! I had even been used as a training dummy by a newer staff member, and due to my particular condition I had received some heavy bruising that took most a month to go away.); He would not be 'wasting expensive equipment on me' was the summary of his sendoff. Proceeded to joke and complain in the hallway about such incidents with his colleagues. They tried to give me Tylenol and a lot of unnecessary drugs and didn't even try to find the root cause so I declined. I can get NSAIDS at home that won't cost 70 dollars months later! I had to push my primary doctor for the scan I needed- which unfortunately went through Beaumont again and the earliest time they could provide a scan was a month after turning me away from one. Asinine. The scanning center had enjoyable people who found the actual issue in a VERY short time. So why couldn't this be done a month prior before my symptoms started getting worse when I was actually at a place expected to help me???

The Resident doctor abdula that help me was very kinda. Also my doctor that assisted me was very informative. My phlebotomist as well. The ultrasound technician Diana was very awesome. Overall all staff that start the 7:30pm shift were very kind. The hygiene of the hospital can be better also the bathroom needs more cleaning. Random needles and medical objectives all over the place .

ER very inept. Was there recently with family member who passed away in ER. ER people didn't know what to do. Kept trying to push him off on another unit that had NO beds (room). Only good person was Mirvet the assistant clinical manager. She got things done. Very patient and understanding person. Thankful to have met her. Rest of unit sucked.

To see that they have a two star review makes absolute sense! My mom has been in the hospital there for almost TWO MONTHS. Their Psychiatric center sent her to the hospital because they did not feel equipped to work with her from what the hospital says. The hospital rotates nurses everyday from various locations to interact with patients they have no rapport with and no understanding of their conditions. You have to show up to the hospital to get information from them because they lie over the phone. The aids are unprofessional, nurses are incompetent and have no training for de escalation AT ALL when working with patients with psychosis . This has been THE WORST experience I’ve ever witnessed with the care of my mother. It took a month for them to finally give her the medication she was prescribed at home. The first psychiatrist misdiagnosed my mom for dementia and refused to remove her from these medications because she was upset with family members requesting information. Dr Remish is the ONLY person out of this ordeal who has been helpful and consistent. There is not one bad thing I can say about her professionalism and consideration for the family. Most of the staff Unit 7 North of Dearborn who worked with patients in 750s were not helpful and did not know how to answer questions when you brought out the terminology that let them know you meant business. The person center plan that was worked with the supervisor of the unit Jennifer and the supervisor of social work Lauren is still not being followed consistently and it just shows that the problem comes from the head and trickles down to the aids. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRUST YOUR FAMILY MEMBER WITH THIS PLACE AND IF THEY PLACE THEN ON THIS UNIT ASK FOR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL.
