⚠️WARNING⚠️ Members are breaking into lockers at the Troy location‼️ Six lockers including mine were broken into Monday night the 15th, It is now Sunday morning the 21st, within this time I’ve asked three different staff members if anything regarding the breaking into lockers was mentioned to them, all three said no! Where is the heads up to staff to keep their eyes open⁉️Where is the management⁉️ The Fact that Lifetime Troy closes at 11pm on Friday and even earlier on Saturday and Sunday is frankly unacceptable. Friday is a weekday not the weekend. It’s a workday, most of your members work Monday through Friday, it makes sense for them to work out after work! Going from 24 hours to 12am daily was the first step taken to steal from their members! All the other Lifetime locations open till 12am Monday through Friday, Mind you they used to be a 24 hour gym when I signed up. They used the pandemic as the excuse to severely reduce the hours, by the way no discount was given for the shortened hours! There is no reason why Troy closes at 11pm on Friday! Lifetime Fitness can’t justify charging these rates for a membership with the inconveniences they have caused their members! I no longer recommend a membership at Lifetime! Over priced for Not being 24/7 anymore, you only have access to one gym you used to get access to all in any location. It’s changed for the worse. The other amenities aren’t even worth it anymore as parents have allow their children to turn them into playgrounds and zoos. Not even an escape anymore it’s a stress room. I’m cancelling my member and just using one of the cheaper gyms. I miss the 24/7 gym; the events of 2020 really ruined everything let’s be real. They really should lower the prices $129 for a gym that’s not 24/7 but has a pool? I can pay way less at la fitness and they have a pool and aren’t 24/7 either. Or I can get a membership to anytime and go 24/7 or planet fitness or crunch are 24 hours during the week. Don’t get me started on the number of complaints I used to file about the childcare stuff involving treatment towards the children in their care. Don’t waste your money here.

Nice facility, BUT save your money! I’ve been coming here for 6 years now and this has easily been the lowest quality the gyms ever been. Save your money and go elsewhere. Many of the reasons why I joined the gym in the first place are no longer there, basketball courts are VERY rarely open as on numerous occasions they are taken up by children birthday parties/events or pickle ball. The club is no longer 24/7 and you will find that there is a lack of workout machines yet the membership prices have climbed significantly higher to over $100/person. Even the cleanliness of the bathrooms is very low. On top of that their app or site doesn’t mention anything about closing doors at 9:30 pm so when I drove over to get a quick run in at the treadmill I was told to leave. An absolute waste of time to drive all the way there and be told to rudely leave. The 3 star rating is fair because it does offer a sauna, steam room and quality workout equipment however all these things stated above are more than true as you will see in many of the comments below.

Always clean. Friendly staff. Yoga is amazing. The app is awesome. So many different classes and choices. Lots of things for the kiddos. Love this gym. I do wish there was a restroom upstairs. Overall, great place.

This location is unusable. Basketball courts are always closed or taken over by some kind of summer camp or class. Pools are crowded and constantly reserved for swimming clubs and kids. Worst gym I’ve ever been to. They charge over a 100 dollars a month for facilities that are rarely available and bad quality. Don’t come here. Life time fitness is high priced garbage.

Do not go to this location. The actual armpit of all lifetimes. You'd think if their gym was outdated and run down that they'd make up for it in customer service / relations. I witnessed before even checking in the front desk team verbally attacking an older woman in front of me with her two grand children in an unprofessional tone and delivery of message. I ignored it and waited for my turn then I had the same exact experience if not worse .. I ended up walking out and missed a class because of Ann Marie in which I drove 50 minutes from Ann Arbor to attend the class since I didn't want to be penalized with a late cancellation/ no show. After paying the higher fees in Rochester now I know why ppl say stay away from troy. It's a disgrace and less quality than a planet fitness with poor leadership and management - Doug is unprofessional, reactive and hyper argumentative with no sense of conflict resolution .

Staff is very friendly and gym is kept fairly clean. Crowded, infant care is only from 5-7p, which is the same time they run majority of their group classes. So when parents have the opportunity to come and want to use a squat rack, you will likely get kicked off of your equipment so a class can use it. Also, you pay extra for your child's membership, but if you don't "reserve" a spot for them prior to 3:30 pm they will most likely turn you away. Why do I pay $250 for my family to come if I can't just show up during the limited hours? Major flaw of this gym

I joined lifetime about 8 years ago. I was so scared to leave my babe in the child care. [ I even cried the 1st few times- I was a 1st time mom that never left her babybean] Taylor Wade was so kind and understanding.. she calmed my nerves and assured me she will personally make sure my littles were safe! She did just that!! She is amazing with my kids and ALL the kids. Since then, I have gone to other LTF's kids academy, and I can say TROY is one of the best. The staff goes above and beyond... it's very organized, unlike some of the other club. TROYS ACADEMY is our top favorite! My kids throw a fit when we go to other clubs. One thing that stands out the most is the way they handle the kids' misbehaving at the busiest times (and obviously not busy times). Very calm yet firm and still loving. Nothing makes me smile more when I see the staff deal with a hurt child. Again, showing so much love and care. Doug, Rena ,Taylor Facca, Hana, Bianca and Katherine are all amazing! LTF TROY is so lucky to have a wonderful staff. One thing is I wish the hours were longer on weekends! I wanted to rave about the summer camp. Again, leaving my kids all day freaked me out. They did a great job and made my work day run so smoothly, knowing my kids were well cared for. Front desk is always friendly. Jordan is so personable. Great asset to lifetime! The locker room is well maintained! Unfortunately, there are SOO many pig members, but I think the staff does a good job keeping up! Sue [ I think that's her name] is a hard worker. Towel desk employees are always smiling and welcoming! Same as cafe.. Upstairs is always clean and maintained. I am a signature memeber, and I really enjoy the classes. Gerald, Marcus, Hilary, Kelly and Erin are great teachers!! I never go to regular classes anymore. Although, I miss Jessie!! He was a great GM. It's very sad to see he is gone! I believe promoting Doug as the new GM was a great move!! He is always present around the club. I feel he will do amazing things for the gym's future!

Adding this over a basketball court is completely disrespectful to every athlete and actual coach that uses the basketball courts for BASKETBALL and SAQ training. Pickleball is not a sport and will never be a sport. LFT makes billions of dollars. Expand the gym and build your own space. It’s an absolute shame & blasphemy that kids will not be able to work toward their goals and dreams because we let them down with this. I will never use this location again and I will cancel my membership if this happens at other facilities

This place is constantly a disaster. There are about two-three employees that actually keep the upstairs clean (the early morning people) otherwise it’s a disaster in the gym. The weekend employees aren’t friendly and don’t ever clean the upstairs gym part. We pay a lot of money for this membership and it’s a shame that management allows their employees to put in such minimal effort. Especially when the weekend workers just hangout outside the locker rooms chatting the entire time when there’s a lot of work upstairs that could be done to keep this gym as neat and welcoming that it is on weekday mornings.

We had our child’s birthday party here and all the kids had a wonderful time! The kids all had fun doing rock climbing, played games and we had a bounce house too! I highly recommend have a child’s birthday party at this Lifetime! Taylor was great to work with and she made everything easy and fun!! She did a great job setting everything up and making the birthday a success with the kids and parents! Thank you so much Taylor and Lifetime, we will definitely book another party here!

Is this a gym or tutor time? Every single time i come on the weekends there’s a birthday party on the basketball court. I only come here for basketball and it seems to never be available. Not to mention they took 1 court away for pickle ball already. Next time i come and court is being used for something other than ball membership is cancelled!

It doesn't have the feel of a high end luxury club. It feels more like a hangout for high school students after school. I've repeatedly seen members throwing weights, making loud piercing noises, slamming weights on machines, and there's never any staff around to say or do anything about it, despite there being signs on the wall clearly stating not to drop/throw weights. Many people are found sitting on machines playing with their smartphones, not letting others work in with them. It wouldn't be hard for administration to reinforce courteous and respectful gym etiquette.

Currently a member here and definitely thinking about quitting. I’ll list my issues as concisely as possible, as many others have already hit upon the most notable problems that have me looking towards the door. 1. Gym etiquette is non-existent. Trainers and patrons alike do no re-rack weights, clean equipment, or even bother to replace dumbbells in the proper locations. 2. Obnoxious classes (scheduled during peak hours) take up all the squat/deadlift platforms. The trainers in charge feel the need to blast bad music on their personal speakers while clients use these racks for….assisted pull-ups? Got it, makes perfect sense 3. As many have stated, the staff is mostly checked out. The snack bar is especially bad, normally 2-3 employees there just gossiping and killing time. Trainers schedule classes and hog valuable machines, while often instructing patrons incorrectly. Heard one tell a gentleman not to use his legs when he benches. Completely incorrect and foolish. Overall, if you’re looking for an overpriced, dirty space to work out where gym culture is nonexistent, this is the place for you

If you’re thinking of joining this gym, just don’t. it’s not worth the hundreds of dollars every month. The amount of issues I have had at my experience at lifetime is astronomical. For starters, I have been “perved on” and looked at by multiple men ranging in ages. I talk to lifetime and they won’t do anything about it because they want the money from their memberships. Also, the amenities are never open, despite paying so much damn money. The waterslides, rock, climbing, and many other things are only open around six hours out of the entire week!! Are you kidding me! Not to mention the place is disgusting. If i had kids, there is no way I would let them out of my sight at this place, especially in the locker rooms. Please take into consideration safety and logistics when making a decision about this place.

Man, me and my family love this place so much. Wish we could go back. Me and 12 of my relatives all canceled a while back. Only reason I give it 3 stars and only reason why we canceled is because they aren’t 24/7 anymore and a lot people leave work around 11pm or midnight and start work super early in the morning. If only they went back 24/7. My whole family would sign up like that!

The high price of membership does not cover full access for some areas. Pickel ball always booked by some one for additional costs . Basket ball is always crowded . Swim lanes 80% booked always for classes in high prime time . Very limited access and $200+ for a family is worthless .This is not full access club for what you pay . My kid always return with disappointed for not getting access .

Really nice gym and friendly staff with all what you need for a good workout 🏋️‍♀️. The food and especially the salads and sugar free drinks are worth to mention. The friendly staff is outstanding.

I loved this place at first but the shine has worn off. I agree with other reviews here that people sit on machines on their phones not working out. Lots of high school gym bros after school. I try to register for classes on the app but half the time I'm told the registration window is closed but to date, no one can tell me what the registration window is. What's really disappointing is that LT is in the process of updating the cardio space, which means for the past two months the cardio options are cut in half, but not my membership fees. There's no timeline on when the new machines are coming, so I try to go on off-peak times just to be able to get a machine. I'm definitely going to look into other gym options in the area.

Child care center is great. The workers all seem to know what they're doing and my daughter loves to visit. I love the pool, sauna and hot tubs. It just makes me feel like I'm on vacation for a minute. Also reasonably easy to cancel your membership at any time which is nice

I went here for a birthday party for my cousin's son (Odin). For those unaware: they apparently do reservations for parties and such? I was completely unaware myself since, I'd never heard of this place before the invite. As such, this review will not be specifically about the gym. The room the party was located in was pretty much a basketball court split in half- one for basketball, and the other has a rock-climbing area. The divider was solid black, and reached just far enough down so nothing really rolled under there like the square scooters or balls that, if I'm remembering correctly, the gym provided. Staff was regularly checking in and was very friendly to us, which was definitely nice. As for the rock-climbing area: the workers were lovely, the equipment was secure, and I had an amazing time (especially while watching relatives and fellow-birthday-party goers try it out). Overall, I had a wonderful time. Staff was pleasant, the area we were in was clean, fun, and safe, and the party was a blast. I could see the gym area from where we were at, and this place seemed like an amazing place to work out. Unfortunately, as I don't live anywhere near Troy (it was around an hour drive for us), I likely won't be returning to this place, but if I lived closer, I'd definitely check it out! And no, I still don't know how my cousin managed to do this. Was fun either way!

For the first time in all my years of going to lifetime we weren't rudely thrown off the basketball court by an unruly employee. The lady who runs Pickle ball, Tokiko, was very nice and allowed us to finish our games and worked with us to ensure that we played our allotted time on Saturday morning. We older guys look forward to our one day of basketball and Tokiko made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again! Hopefully going forward Lifetime can make surw that the 8-11am slot on Saturday morning isn't taken away for some other reason!

I love this gym! The environ's are super nice, there is a ton of equipment, pickleball here is really fun, their hot tubs / steam showers are great, and there is plenty of parking. They even have a place to grab a bite to eat if you need a pick-me-up

I've been talking about this place since 200t when no on k ew who they were. They still maintain their friendly atmosphere. It is still extremely well maintained and the staff are super nice. This place is for serious bbs and beginners alike. Overall, the best training facility I've ever been to

Great gym with many commodities that I'm not that familiar with yet. The basketball court is great for any formal game or just a quick one. You can bring your own basketball or they let you borrow one from them.

My experience at Lifetime Aquatics at Troy has been very disappointing. This place has proven to be a complete waste of time and money. they don't respect their customers' time, they fail to stick with the swimming lesson schedules they provide, they constantly change swimming trainers, and their Aquatic supervisor is rude and disrespectful. To make matters worse, the management's failure to follow through on their promises has left me feeling completely ignored and undervalued as a customer. I would strongly advise anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere for their kids aquatic fitness needs. If I could rate this place with less than 1 star, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.
