Just-the-right-amount-of-friendly staff. There's such a thing as too friendly before I've had morning coffee, but these folks were just right. Excellent coffee and ambience too.

There are so many amazing coffee places in Detroit I don't know how Starbucks can even make a stand, but this place is by far my absolute number one favorite! It's extra fun because they have the beans out on display and grind them in front of you. Staff are wonderful and you won't find a better mocha anywhere.

Great place for a good cup of coffee. The place is small, but clean, and the staff is friendly. There are a lot ofemu options, so there is something for everyone.

Very cool place for those who like their beans and know exactly how they want it. Huge selection of roasts with robust flavors. Unsung heroes are the pastries, with items like peaches and cream danishes, and lemon and lavender scones. Place is pretty small with maybe 4 tables total plus a few bar seats, but the building lobby outside has larger tables. It’s also pretty pricey, but if you love very good coffee that’s just the price you’ve gotta pay for it! Shoutout to staff who didn’t side eye me for getting a decaf white mocha cookie latte 😂 but I’ve got a lot of cafes to hit up while I’m here and not enough caffeine tolerance to do it

Super cute space with delicious coffee and baked goods. Kind of a small space so not really somewhere you’d want to work for any period of time, but definitely a good options to take a quick meeting or stop in if touring Detroit.

This is such an amazing coffee place! There are lots of fresh coffee bean choices, and this was the first time that I could choose a coffee bean for my coffee drink. Very delicious latte with Ethiopia Yirgachaffe

All the good stuff is crazy expensive and all the inexpensive stuff is bad. If you're looking to shell out some serious coin for a bag, this is a good spot to do it. The ceiling bean vacuum system is a cute novelty; but when I'm looking for a good and reasonably priced cup of coffee, I look elsewhere.

I have been a customer of Roasting Plant for over 6 years. I live about 45 minutes away, so when I come to Detroit, I always go out of my way and stop in. Last time there the latte was not as good as it use to be. It taste like stale coffee. I drink fresh roasted coffee regularly and started buying it when they were open in Ann Arbor. It quickly went out if business; not sure why. So recently I ordered 1lb of their espresso blend. I was excited to have it shipped to my home and be able to enjoy their fresh roasted coffee. Upon arrival and the item was filled with air which typically would be oxidation from the fresh roast, it smelled amazing and once open looked fresh. I grind some of the roast and after trying it, it was horrible. It taste like the coffee was at least 6-8 months old. Very disappointed. When I order fresh roasted, that is what I expect. Once I sealed the bag back up, a key factor in fresh roast is the bag will gain the air again which is from oxidation and you let the air out. This did not do that so I know for certain this is over 3 weeks to a month old. Point is the coffee they are selling as fresh roast is not fresh at all. I messaged the Roasting Plant and as expected, no response. I shall continue my business as usual with Coffee AM out of Atlanta Georgia. Great business, supper fresh low cost organic coffees and espressos. You get what you order from Coffee AM.

Give or take! Staff is super friendly. Coffee was good. Outside seating which isn't too common for downtown coffee shops. Music was quieter than other places. My only critique is that prices are a bit high and the pros are outweighing this con. However, if I wasn't sitting down for a coffee, I would be considering other locations.

Thanks for the reply to my review. I hope you will sincerely consider my comments on the lack of accessibility for customers using wheelchairs. All we want is to be fully independent and go about a normal life like everyone else. The small things like having to ask for help opening a door add up. Thanks! Their coffee is exceptional. Each cup is brewed fresh to order and I have never been disappointed with the quality. Be prepared to pay a premium price for a premium coffee. A very small cup is over $3.50. I wish I could afford to buy a pound to take home! The staff are always very friendly too. My biggest complaint is handicapped accessibility. Although the building has automatic doors and the coffee shop has a ramp, their glass doors aren't automatic and are so heavy that I can't get in or out without asking someone for assistance.

So cozy and cute!!! I’m a coffee connoisseur so as soon as I smelled it in downtown I decided to stop in…Did. Not. Disappoint. Great customer service, great price, and fresh coffee!

This place is amazing. Get the Kona coffee if you love coffee and drink it black. If you put any flavor in your coffee do not disrespect coffee as good as the Kona bean with sweetener. Staff is great. Easy parking out front. Great place overall

Yesterday was my first time at Roasting and I had by far one of thee best experiences I’ve had at a coffee shop in a long time I’m so used to being in rushed environments and impatient employees when in other spaces but everyone here was super kind and I would like to point out Aspen in particular who offered great recommendations and delivered excellent customer service I will definitely be coming again

Order a cup of ice coffee and end up with ice is more than a third quarter in my drink, unsatisfied. No AC inside, but the coffee making process is cool though

Our coffees were delicious. Love the concept of picking which beans your drink is made out of, and it was cool to watch the beans fly through the tubes. Parking was difficult. But I would come back sometime.

Great selection! Fast friendly service. WiFi access, in door and outdoor seating with a perfect view of Campus Martius Park. Great meeting spot on the go. If you’re looking for truly custom blend coffee, you’ve found it. Your choice ground fresh! One more reason Detroit is the place to be. Place was soooo sick! I loved the vibe and it had a really unique look to it. It was sweet seeing the coffee beans shoot up through the tubes every time they made a cup for someone.

I like the visual atmosphere of this coffee shop, it's in a nice location for sure. But I didn't like that we were asked to leave because we didn't have masks. I have no issue wearing a mask to keep everyone safe but if you don't have them available for your customers then you're losing on quite a bit of business over like 5 cents so please please please have masks for people that way we can spend at your business! Also, friends grabbed something for me and I tried their hot cocoa and it was pretty watered down.

Arrived at 5:15pm on a Thursday, to try the coffee. Was happy to come in because the hours stated that they closed at 7pm. I ordered a large mint mocha coffee, for almost 8$. It tasted nothing like mint. Sat down and before I knew it, the two other customers and I were being asked to leave. The two employees stated that they were too short staffed to stay open even though there wasn't much business and I'm sure they could have handled staying open. If you plan on coming to get some coffee just beware that you might get booted out after 5pm. There are seats in the lobby. Won't be coming by again.
