great little shop ! • espresso : bright and tangy tangerine flavor with a hint of delicate hibiscus • built in counter espresso machine • interior : beautiful space with an emphasis on jungle plants and earth tones. Large openable garage door windows lightly define the space, gently bridging the gap between outside and inside as if one is still breathing in the fresh air. • gorgeous natural lighting that spans the length of the lovely open floor plan • outlets available • large and spacious amount of seating • pleasant service • wonderful, easy, and free parking!! • !! p l a n t s !! • well worth the visit :)

It’s a nice little coffee shop, if you’re in Detroit then this coffee place should be on your bucket list. The coffee here is one of the best I’ve had so far and I would suggest to try out the Latte. There’s nice place to sit and relax. You can have your friends accompany you or it’s also a nice place to sit and have some me time.

Great coffee and desserts as well as other specialty drinks in a beautiful open space. Great place to do work!

I think I liked the atmosphere of the shop more than the coffee lol. The coffee itself wasn't bad, just tad butter for my liking. Just got an iced coffee with soy milk. The plants and large floor to ceiling windows though are so so beautiful!!

Easily my favorite cafe in Detroit. I’ve been visiting these guys since they were in their old space. The atmosphere and coffee bar is great, a very cool use of a unique space. As a fan of roasting, I love the variety in beans for in house/to go drinks and I always take a bag of beans with me.

Came here very close to closing to meet a friend for a short chat. First time there and had an excellent cappuccino with pleasant and helpful staff. Facilities were clean and well stocked. Location is a bit strange and not well marked but it wasn't a problem for me.

Best mocha. soooo good. Alternate milks for vegans. excellent staff and coffee. great vibe. Has become a bit pricey. 6 bucks for a mocha plus obligatory 1 tip is just too expensive. Twice what we pay in Europe where staff also get great benefits. but always love coming here for that mocha when back home. I'll spend a couple extra bucks a few times a year for it.

Excellent coffee, space, and staff. However when I go to a highly rated coffee shop, I expect the option of a pour over brewed after I order. I typically avoid these places. I cannot take this place seriously if they're okay serving leftover coffee. I respect coffee shops that don't have electrical outlets, but when there is no wifi, that's where I draw the line. After I had my first lovely cup of coffee, I was planning to get a second cup, a bag of beans, and maybe other purchases. However I had to get work done so I had to quickly finish my coffee and bolt in frustration. That's $20 of my business they left on the table. I have nothing against this place, but I will never return. Thus that's more than $20. Plus I won't be recommending this place to anyone. I'd rather go to Starbucks and I really don't like Starbucks.

When friends visit from out of town, Anthology is always on the list. It’s truly the best coffee in town. The baked goods are also some of the best around; love the flavor pairings made fresh by one of the co-owners. While some folks get annoyed by the lack of wifi/outlets, what they don’t realize is this shop was designed for socializing and enjoying amazing beverages without the cluster of laptops crowding the atmosphere. I LOVE Anthology for maintaining this ethos. I remember when they were a smaller operation in Ponyride years back and the coffee is still amazing. Love that you can also walk to so many spots in Eastern Market from here!

Been coming to Anthology for over a decade. Really love their new location in Eastern Market (RIP OG Corktown location). Visiting for thanksgiving this year and the coffee is even better than I remember. Big ups for being open on a Monday when a lot of things are closed in Detroit. Shout out to Hernan! One of the friendliest baristas on the planet!

Great coffee downtown. Right next to Eastern market. Plan stop into your market errands. Check out awesome shop!

Good variety of coffee beans. Tried their unique Colombian coffee(washed, carbonic maceration processing) as a pour-over, it was tasty but water should’ve been less hot while pouring for a greater taste.

The best coffee shop around! They rotate varieties frequently and roast in house so the coffee is always fresh. Great customer service, wonderful atmosphere, and the treats are incredible!

*Edited, apparently my reviews aren't that great lol. Nice little shop by Eastern Market. Hosted a Jeep get-together there and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

Phenomenal coffee, beautiful space, and amazing plant collection. They also have bagged beans to take home, with a variety of choices & regions. Loved everything about Anthology, from the service to the beans - can’t wait to be back. Would give 6 starts if that was a thing.

First let me say: great place! Not sure what the bad reviewers were expecting. This is a place for coffee enthusiasts, and it may be a little hipster and goofy. I don't think it comes off as snobby... but it's made for geeking out about coffee. You can't go here expecting it to be like a starbucks. If you aren't that interested in the details of your coffee, and you just want a place to work with some caffeine involved, then move on instead of writing a negative review. Just let it go and let us goofy hipsters enjoy our nerdy coffee experience. And of course a place like this won't be cheap, if you want cheap, go somewhere cheap, it's common sense. Anyway, the staff was kind to me. The drinks were delicious and I decided to buy a bag of beans. It's cool to have a place like this in Detroit, it can compete with some of the best coffee roasters I've found anywhere.

A lovely space with lots of natural light and great coffee. They clearly take pride in the quality of coffee they serve here. Side note—there aren’t many charging outlets so make sure your laptop is topped up if you plan on working on devices while here.

Friendly staff and great coffee. The food selection was limited to a couple different types of cookies (which were good!). I just ran in and out but the space is cool. It’s inside of a coworking building that used to be a loading dock. Very interesting history!
