One of those coffee shops where the employees are too cool to ask what you would like, or say hello, or say thank you. Couldn't tell me the total I owed; just stared at me until I had to prompt a conversation so I could pay and leave. If you don't want customers, just lock the door. No restroom. No indoor seating. I'll happily go somewhere else for stinky attitudes and mediocre coffee.

Had the best coffee and experience here. Staff was amazing and had the best vibes. This is how a coffee shop should be.

Decent baked goods and coffee but no bathroom available (?!). Really inconvenient especially since they have lots of seating available for you to stay and eat outside. Shouldn’t be encouraging customers to hang around and eat/drink if there’s nowhere to use the restroom should they need to use the bathroom or wash their hands. If they had no seating, then it would be fine, but I was definitely inconvenienced.

I'm trying to figure out why this restaurant is closed for inside dining and loosing out on business, because ordering outside and waiting for my order was very different. My latte was ok and hot. My cheddar biscuit was good but no offer to heat it up. I just think my experience would have been better if I could have sat down inside to eat and drink. I only rated 3 🌟 due to visiting many places going thru covid and was able to sit inside and enjoy my coffee and pastry.

Such a charming small coffee shop in a seriously cute area on a Greenway in Rivertown Detroit. The coffees are great and the service is friendly, but I simply cannot resist their pastries which are to DIE FOR!! I'll often clean out their supply so apologies in advance. (Hi, it's me, I'm the problem.) If you prefer a healthy lunch option please checkout Breadless next door. A take out empanada restaurant is opening soon, and Red Hook is expanding their space to include wine as well. Entrepreneurial places such as this are part of the reason Detroit has been and is still getting such buzz. Come experience the excitement, and if it's nice out please take a stroll up the Greenway or down to the Detroit Riverwalk - the most beautiful in the country.

It was fine. Coffee wasn’t anything special and the staff was not particularly welcoming. I get that it can be exhausting to be warm and cheery to every customer, I’ve worked as a barista for years, but damn, just a hello would be nice. Definitely go somewhere else if you’re looking for an above average atmosphere/ coffee.

I cannot imagine why this place is making people stand outside still. The coffee is good, but the inside of the shop has been closed for almost a year and a half. Just require proof of vaccine, or make people wear a mask. I am not going to wait on the street for a coffee come Winter.

Great speciality shop with a variety of pastries, alternative milks, and choices in roasts and location. The staff is so friendly and down to earth. There were several toddlers (with parents) and the staff was friendly and kind, clearly knew most of the families and people waking up. Comfortable and cozy vibes, even on the patio in March! Service was speedy and high quality. As a former specialty barista, I can say they have high quality coffee and do a great job steaming their milks. It was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend! Red Hook Detroit has closed off their lobby during COVID19 and has made a great order and pick up system. Their card reader is touch screen with sanitizer right next to, and that's the only touch requirement. Pictured is an oat milk cappacino and a vegetable galette, both simply delicious!

It took me a couple years to get here after a friend recommended The Red Hook. I should have gone a long time ago. Artsy, clean, relaxed establishment. Delightful baristas. Rich, sweet froth with low acidity cappuccino made for a great detour to the city. High praises!

Is a very clean well run organized coffee shop. Space to study and to share. The right level of music in the background. Is dog friendly with papers only. Very quick service. Also outside patio under a canopy of vintage foliage. Peaceful neighborhood parking in rear.

I love this concept. A coffee shop connected to a winery. Free wine taste of the day's selection, before you buy the bottle. 👌🏽 Great place to have an evening or weekend meeting. Some can drink coffee, some can drink wine, meeting goes smoothly. 😌

I really loved Red Hook. We found ourselves out of breakfast food and without reservations one weekend, and decided to grab a coffee and a bite from here to lift our spirits. It didn’t disappoint. The pastries we fantastic. Great flavor and obviously freshly baked. We also had incredible lattes that were perfectly smooth and balanced. They are still doing curbside orders, so no customers were allowed inside. But even still, we enjoyed sitting at the outdoors tables and enjoying the fresh air. I’m extremely glad to have found this place, and will be planning my next stop very soon!

Super cute little coffee shop just outside of the busy city. My macchiato was delicious! Not many personalized flavor options tho. So I got my hubs just a plan joe with sugar & creamer. He would have enjoyed the same from Mcds without a premium coffeehouse upcharge. The treats looked tasty but I did not indulge.

Stopped in the Midtown Red Hook by chance during a quick visit from Toronto. 5/5 10/10, incredible staff, incredible coffee. Amazing vibe and energy. Felt more at home in this little coffee shop I stumbled into then many of my local faves. The Hondorus pour over - exquisite. The Everything Bagel Scone - divine. Staff were chatty and approachable, helpful and fun! Can't wait for my next visit! I never leave Google reviews but I have to leave this one. Hope the bosses see this and give their staff fat raises

I visited there at around 9 in morning. As usual it was full of people this early too. I had Mocha large and it was definitely awesome!!

If I lived here, I would come to Red Hook to do deep work or journal. Relaxing atmosphere and good pastries (with vegan options!) Service was great. The coffee's pretty good, too.

I've ended my love affair with Starbucks and The Red Hook (Detroit), is the one to blame. Their lattes are wonderful and yes, there have been days where I've gone back for a second one....lol

Cashier with pink hair wasn’t pleasant. Her face almost said it before you spoke to her. Held up a small coffee and asked if that was the correct size, I said yes AND nodded. Still gave me a large. Also asked for a MOCHA cold brew. She was moving so fast- I don’t know if she didn’t hear me or forgot the mocha part. The music was too loud. I’m assuming that’s why both my coffees were wrong. The pastries were delicious and that’s the only thing positive I can say.

This little shop is incredible. I've only been there once, because I'm not from around here, but I'd honestly love to go again. Their coffee is excellent, and their pastries are divine. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, give this place a try. Also, if you're a dog lover, you're gonna love this place. I saw so many dogs just in the short time I was there.

Very nice little quaint coffee shop. Very environmentally conscious. Service was fast and very polite. Price was what I expected from a small shop. Great atmosphere... Would definitely recommend!

Local eclectic feel. Affordable prices and a good place to meet with friends. This coffee shop offers okay quality coffee with a good selection of pastries. Enjoy the murals and some good vibes on the East side.

Cute shop, the coffee was meh and the attendant on the register wasn’t particularly friendly. The coffee shop environment was kinda bland as well. The guys who were making the coffee seemed nice. I didn’t like that I had to put my own lid on my coffee or add my own cream. If I’m going to do all that I might as well make coffee at home. The banana loaf was pretty good but that blueberry muffin was not it.

Made a quick stop here. The coffee is pretty good. Still no seating inside but some outside. Several pastry options. If you’re out of town, a neat neighborhood to grab a coffee & walk around—many historic homes
