I stumbled on this amazing cafe this morning. The staff are absolutely wonderful and friendly. I ordered the Wake Up Late coffee with Almond milk and the Ford Breakfast Wrap. The gentleman educated me on the style of coffee I selected. Let's just say, he did not disappoint.😊 Now let's talk about this wrap! It was exactly I needed to get me on a healthy start this morning. The ambiance was so peaceful. The space was clean and quiet. Great place to come study, work, etc. Oh, they also have board games.

☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ Lovely shop. Excellent coffee but oh the creamy Chai 🫖. Kind, cheerful staff. Free wisdom penned on your cup. Great vibe. Try a homemade cinnamon roll. 💯🏆

Loved this cafe in downtown Detroit! Excellent options on the menu along with coffee that definitely tastes much better than the coffee chains. Would highly recommend their Avocado toast with Mocha coffee. They also have plenty of seating available, with interesting books along with excellent WiFi.

Well, this was a VERY pleasant surprise. I was definitely not expecting this little cafe I found online so be so cozy and aesthetic! I ordered a hazelnut oatmilk latte that came with a heart which was adorable! It was very smooth and delicious, the flavor was really rich! I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie warmed up, very soft and gooey. The baristas were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere DEFINES cozy. I almost fell asleep in the chair by the fireplace, there’s many seating options as well as two fireplaces, some greenery, and a whole other space for seating. Definitely want to come back!

A hidden gem off of 3rd street in Midtown! People, I’m going to need you to venture a block or two off of Woodward and Cass to sample some of Detroit’s best eateries. I had the pleasure of *literally* stumbling into Awake following a weekend morning run. Not only was their food tasty (I was a fan of my avocado toast and oranges + their delicious homemade granola bar) but the staff has actually started to create our running crew specialty items like Runners Toast (avo toast with egg) for some of our regulars. This friendly, home like atmosphere is felt the second you step foot in the shop. We were told by the staff that Awake doesn’t have a singular owner and actually functions as a collective model which was really cool! And it’s always nice to support a local business rather than a large chain. The back room has a plethora of books and board games for you to try out as well as some comfy seating. In sum, this is a great cafe/coffee shop but also just a really neat spot to hang out or meet up with friends. Street parking is available.

One of the best (if not the best) Cafes in the Detroit area. The coffee not only tastes amazing, but the beans are ethically sourced and roasted in house. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. For WSU students, it is only a few minutes away from campus, and a great study atmosphere. First responder friendly! What makes or breaks a place like this is the staff. Ever since I first walked in the staff has been nothing but friendly, always asking how I’ve been or how things are going. From the girls who make the coffee to the boy who washes the dishes, they’re very personable and genuine. They even handwrite inspirational messages on their coffee cups to help encourage you through the day! There are other good coffee shops in Detroit, but Awake is truly Superb.

Very clean, food prepared fresh and the decor is beautiful. I don't go very often because of my schedule but when I do, they never disappoint. The staff is super friendly. The turkey sausage bagel sandwich is very filling! The encouraging messages on the cups adds a special touch! Staff is still amazing, food is still delicious and the coffee is fresh and hot! Got me a fall sandwich which unfortunately I cannot remember the name of it, but I want another!

Wow! I just ordered a via delivery app and I cannot believe how I've missed this gem for this long. I'm blown away! The coffee tastes so good. I got "the Woodward" sandwich.. it is so fresh! And don't even get me started on the cinnamon rolls. If you like Cinnabon... these are better!!! I will definitely be coming here very often from here on out! Delicious fresh food, amazing coffee. 10/10!

This is a great quite coffee shop that owned by a mission, they use beans from a farmer in Honduras, and the atmosphere is great to focus and get work done or have a nice conversation.

I love this coffee shop. It's so cute and cozy. The staff are always sweet. Coming here is a great start to the day. Especially if you get a beverage from here, they write meaningful statements that will surely brighten your day. However the food is great too!! I usually get their deli sandwiches, I haven't tried them all but you honestly can't go wrong with anyone you select. I usually get the Cass Ave and add mayo and honey mustard. The sandwiches are always delicious. My favorite is their breakfast sandwich called Woodward Ave with bacon on everything bagel. However what won me over about this place is the coffee, I love that it's fair traded coffee beans and just freshly made.

This was first visit to this quaint cafe. The staff is very friendly and full of positive energy. The decor is simple, old style and airy. There are two dining/comfort areas. There’s seating to dine as well as sofa and comfy chair seating. The menu is simple, not unnecessarily overwhelming. I was going to get a carry-out but after finally finding a place to park (construction) and receiving such a warm welcome, I decided to dine in. I had an awesome conversation with a college student from Arizona who’s interning as part of her Cultural Diversity program. I enjoyed The Canfield sandwich and a Cold Chai beverage. Typically, I eat half of a sandwich and take the other half to go…I couldn’t resist eating the whole sandwich. When you eat real food, good food that isn’t filled with trash but better ingredients…I did not feel stuffed or uncomfortable at all. They also offer cookies, brownies and breakfast items as well as a small cooler with other beverages like ginger teas that are made locally. This cafe was definitely worth the parking inconvenience and the one block walk in the heat. I will definitely go back to try other menu items and repeat the same order as well. If you want a quaint, quiet place to eat and/or have coffee or tea, this is the place.

A Culinary Delight: Avocado Toast and Decaf Cappuccino 😍☕️ Oh, what a treat to share my recent visit to this delightful café, where every bite and sip was a pure sensory pleasure! 🥑🍞✨ 🍃 Avocado Toast on Whole Grain Bread 🍃 I indulged in their heavenly Avocado Toast, meticulously crafted on a foundation of whole grain bread. The moment I laid my eyes on it, a symphony of colors and textures unfolded before me. Each slice of bread embraced a generous, velvety coat of avocado perfection, catapulting my taste buds to cloud nine. ✨ The Perfect Toast 🥂 The whole grain bread was artfully toasted to perfection golden brown and crisp on the outside, yet marvelously soft on the inside. With every bite, a divine crunch and a gentle sweetness danced together, composing pure harmony in my mouth. ✨ A Symphony of Flavors 🎶 As I savored each morsel, my palate was serenaded by the delightful interplay of the creamy avocado and the meticulously balanced seasoning – a symphony conducted from the first bite to the last. The earthy and nutty undertones of the whole grain bread provided a subtle backdrop for the vibrant flavors to shine, ensuring an unforgettable taste experience. ☕️ Decaf Cappuccino with Oat Milk ☕️ To complement this extraordinary toast, I opted for their velvety-smooth Decaf Cappuccino with the richness of oat milk. The moment the cup touched my lips, it was love at first sip. ✨ A Perfect Pairing 💫 As the bold and robust flavors of the avocado lingered on my palate, the cappuccino swept in like a gentle breeze, perfectly complementing the indulgent journey. Its medium-bodied taste and seamless smoothness intertwined with the lingering flavors, bringing a harmonious conclusion to this extraordinary culinary adventure. If you're looking for a symphony of flavors that will leave you spellbound, head to Awake Café @awakedetroit. Prepare for an enchanting experience that whispers poetry on your taste buds! 🌟✨ Praise God for this gem that I stumbled on today ❤️ Psalms 107:9 "For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." #awakethesoul #praisegod #midtowndetroit #coffeelover

I was visiting Detroit for work and was tired of my stuffy af hotel and went looking for a chill spot for a coffee and breakfast. The latte affirmations were such a mood booster after a tough work week. Very smooth coffee and excellent avocado toast.

Best and most ethically priced advacado toast I’ve ever had. $3.50 is a steal compared to all these other places charging overpriced coffees and treats. Definitely a great local option. Also great London fog lattes!! (I ate half of the toast!) 🥑 🍞

Iced oatmeal cookie latte. Lovely service and lots of people working and studying. So glad midtown is supporting local businesses

Pros: Peaceful environment, good healthy unique options. I've been 3 times in two weeks, baked oatmeal is amazing. Smoothies and pricing is great! Downside: I was not greeted each time I came in, it's such a small intimate vibe , staff looks when you open the door. But know one says anything, that's odd to me. The 1st time I was even skeptical of staying or coming back because of it. In today's society, you want to feel you are welcomed (you don't want to lose a customer over a few words). Even when standing at the counter it's like you ignored until they are done (which is fine when they don't know you are there, but when they do "I'll be with you soon" would be nice.) I don't catch bad vibes (awkward at times) from this place, staff is friendly when taking your order, food is amazing, just need to be aware of customer experience from start to finish. If this changes for me in the future (I will be back), I will update review.

Great little coffee shop. The coffee is always great, the food is very good too. Everything is made fresh in house. The staff is very friendly, parking is usually pretty easy and the interior of the shop is amazing. The layout of the space is amazing and it was absolutely spotless inside. The staff are also very polite and service was quick and efficient. Best coffee shop in the area, very safe with no problems.

I love this place, the food is amazing and the drinks were good. I order a strawberry matcha which isn’t on the menu but they were able to do it for me regardless <3 the staff is always so sweet and the entire cafe is littered with inspiring quotes, perfect for a morning pick-me-up. 🥺

The peach tea is immaculate especially if you have a sweet tooth. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying our visit. We had our Bible study there. Both the service and atmosphere are unmatched.

Your business hours say ‘closed’ until 8 am, not ‘only open to police until 8 am’. Saw people & employees inside, was ignored at the door for a good long while until an officer approached the door to be let in & *kindly* inform me that they only serve officers at this time. I appreciate the sentiment to locale law enforcement, respect the decision, and after asking around i hear this is a local understanding of this specific cafe—but i feel this exception should be posted somewhere; as to just ignore future customers is poor service.

This is a cute little coffee place!! Super yummy cinnamon buns and the coffee is really good too.

Sooo I don't like cinnamon rolls, like not even the big ones you get from the mall. But this place? Omg I throw the biggest fit if I'm anywhere in the area and can't get one😂😭 coffee has good flavor in its own and the add-ons are very good. They always write little wholesome comments on your drink. Only complaint, they close in the early afternoon. HIGHLY recommend.

It was great in several ways. The people were very friendly and made sure to get the stuff right. (Something that is nice at any place) The food and drinks were great! I absolutely loved what I got. It felt easy to relax there. Also, I thought the fireplace and sofa were a nice comfy addition. ☺️
