Quality. I love a high end quality coffee shop and Madcap delivers the goods. Perfect location off Parker’s Alley near the Shinola Hotel. I’m a local but I can imagine staying at Shinola and coming here for coffee on my way out to some sightseeing or shopping. I think my favorite thing was the beautiful morning breeze as I sipped my perfect coffee sitting outside.

Absolute must visit in Detroit. Vibe check: If Steve Jobs had established a coffee shop, this is the spot. Very clean and meticulous high end design. Nice patio. Fashionista/o Baristas. Brew: elite. Unique flavor and bean selections. Perfectly brewed by a professional grade staff. Requests: please open in Chicago so I can visit you more often 😆

Cute and modern coffee spot. I had a chai latte and it was very well made. Lots of cute seating outdoors. Friendly staff.

Right at the heart of Downtown, Madcap serves some of the best coffee in the Metro area. Originally from Grand Rapids, I consider them one of the specialty coffee authorities in the state of Michigan. Any coffee drink you may think of will be nicely produced. The spot is very bright and spacious, with ample standing bars; so don't think this will be the coffee shop you can come and station for hours to work remotely. However, in the summer they have seating outside on the alley. Surrounded by the Shinola hotel, the newly opened Gucci store, Queens bar, and more you'll sure be in for cool people watching. A must check in when in town!

Great modern coffee shop with solid & tasty coffee options. Had a strong cappuccino which hit the spot nicely. A beautiful area with plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy your brew. Free wifi available - password is displayed inside on the counter where you pick up your coffee.

Definitely in my top 3 for coffee shops in Detroit. Whether I just want a quick coffee to-go or want to sit and read for a bit, Madcap is perfect for both. The location is amazing and the aesthetic is calming and very stylish. Can’t recommend Madcap enough.

Easily my new favorite place in the world for coffee. I will be coming here daily until I go home and will make a point to come every time I visit Detroit. Coffee is amazing, staff is friendly and the area is fun.

I’ve been here a few times, I included photos of I believe a pumpkin spice latte and todays dutch bingo. Both were AMAZING, the atmosphere is very modern and gives a café almost a bars energy with the counters to stand at. The service is always very personable as well, will be returning!

A Coffee Flight? How creative. These people think “outside the mug” they have “here” ceramic mugs and do their best to eliminate one use plastic. Latte smooth as silk. Plentiful stools and counters to work and free water. (Not from Flint)

This was a very nice experience. The coffee had me going all day long! The chai tea was delicious and my favorite thing. The grapefruit espresso was tart and not tasty to me. But it was different to try. They put a lot of care into crafting each beverage.

Lovely coffee selections, I couldn't choose so we did a flight and a honey steamer, I'd highly recommend giving it a try for a caffeine-free option! 🐝🍯 ☕

What a vibe - love the black and white interior/branding. I’d rank this as one of the best coffee shops in downtown and a must visit if you’re in the area. Vanilla Oat Latte ($6.50) was the best. Get it and walk around as crisp fall air blows in your face. I’ll be back!

Had a Cortado and Pumpkin Loaf. Both were exceptional. The vibe is what made this place even more enjoyable to me, though. Good music playing, people chilling and chatting at the high-top tables, and a non-complicated menu with fair prices. Highly recommend!

Really great cafe drinks. You can tell that they use quality coffee beans. They also have a very nice atmosphere with very welcoming staff as well. I would definitely recommend anyone to give this a try if they're in the area!

One of my favorite things to do when I visit a city is to check out the coffee culture. Mad cap brought all the coffee culture. It’s great to see the variety of beans they offered along with offering pour overs. I had a ice americano of their house espresso blend and it was delicious. It was nice to check some emails and handle some work on my laptop all while enjoying the modern-simplistic layout. WiFi works great and the area it’s end is like a scene out of a movie set. I love the rustic brick buildings with a touch of modern. Overall madcap is one to checkout if your in downtown Detroit. Thanks!

My first experience was great! The line moved quickly and my coffee took about 5 minutes. I got the coco cabón and it was sooo good. Not too sweet and I loved the Black Sea salt on top

Not a bad spot if the weather is nice or you’re happy to stand and chat. Latte was good but there were about 4 bar seats and the weather was too cold to sit outside. No fault of the staff but they were severely understaffed so there was no online ordering and the line was moving slow. Drinks were on the pricier side for sure.

Very minimalist atmosphere with some luxurious caffeinated beverages. Both coffees we got were ultra smooth and creamy. Wish they had almond milk but at least there was oat!

Very impressed with one of the holiday specials: the “core memory” tasted amazing, highly recommend. Also love that they didn’t charge for oatmilk. Conor says the drinks should have been hotter but I liked that I could drink mine right away. Also cool that they asked if it was to dine in or take away, and would have given our drinks to us in proper glassware if we were staying.

I love this cool spot downtown Detroit. The staff are amazing and kind. They also really know their coffee. They understand the notes of the coffee extremely well and are patient to talk you through your choice. I purchase the cognition coffee bean for home.

Good selection of interesting coffee bean varieties, you can tell they put a lot of time into research. Only 5 seats, but 3 tables for standing around. On the higher end $4.50-6.50 for 10oz. Good location.

Hipster coffee at its finest! The bean menu was wide-ranging, as were the brewing methods. Watching the coffee being brewed felt like being back in high school chemistry classes -- there were flasks, scales, and goggles involved:) It's not cheap, but the coffee was great! (And it beats going to Dunkin' all the time, lolz!)

Best coffee around. Their espresso is to die for. I can't get past the cafe miel. Sometimes I consider getting something else, but I always get the miel - it's the best. I'm taking off one star because they were out of their espresso beans to purchase which was expressly why I went there!!!

This place is cute and the coffee was good! They offered sparkling water with my coffee. Wish there were more stools at the height tables.
