Best. Sourdough. Of. All. Time. Seriously, pick up a few loaves and also snag a chorizo sandwich (on the sourdough). Also grab an almond croissant or a ricotta croissant toast. Both are DIVINE. If you’re looking to get a cinnamon bun make sure you get there right before they open because those babies sell out fast and there’s usually a line out the door.

Great tasting food, freshly baked breads, in house roasted coffee, and clean aesthetics. Ochre has all the qualities I to look for in a great brunch spot. The restaurant also has a great outdoor space in front of the cafe that is very toddler friendly. We had a great time chatting with the owner while we watched our toddlers play. I love that there are places like this in Detroit, and I am sure it will become a mainstay of the city in no time.

Great pastries. The croissant had more layers than any croissant I have ever seen. It was wonderfully flakey and buttery. And the espresso shortbread was great as well! The lemon poppyseed pound cake was also mouthwateringly delicious.

Amazing pastries and freshly baked breads daily. Great breakfast and unique, local, FRESHLY sourced brunch foods and when it’s warm enough out, a super cute outdoor seating area. Clean environment and very friendly staff! Warning though if you’re not a coffee purist — they don’t carry flavored syrups for speciality lattes that many would expect at a bakery. Certainly worth a visit though if you’re in Detroit-Woodbridge area.

From the Astro Crew we now have Ochre Bakery. A step up and to the left of Astro, it has all the signs of Astro yet the bar has been raised. A bit more polished, a more extensive menu (including table service), a wider assortment of pastries and breads, it is very likely this place will quickly become a new destination for all good things worth visiting in Detroit. I can attest the coffee and baked goods are on par with Astro yet with a little extra personal touch from the servers and the overall warm and, (dare I say) pleasant design. And once the outside landscaped park is done this will be a hard place to tear oneself away from. Welcome Ochre!

Wonderful friendly staff and a relaxing and pleasant place to enjoy your food! Came on a Sunday afternoon and had ice teas and the vegan almond cakes - one orange and one strawberry and the poppy seed short bread in the beautiful garden. Bought an almond loaf to take home. Definitely recommend as a place to hang out, reflect or finish some work.

Bon Appetite magazine was right ! Amazing new Bakery Cafe in Detroit. I know prices may seem high, but the quality of the ingredients and time to make such specialized baked goods isn’t easy ! The croissant was one of the best I have ever had ! Don’t miss the lemon pistachio cake or cookies !

Since reopening after COVID, Ochre has reimagined itself as a simplified bakery and local grocer, but has not sacrificed any quality in the process. Excellent breads, pastries, and lunch items, as always. Located in the lovely Core City Park, Ochre is a weekend favorite amongst locals—and rightfully so!

Five stars for the food and drinks we tasted. The flavors were perfectly married and balanced. On an other note, some staff were friendly and you can see that they're genuinely nice. A few others either had a bad day or they need to learn how to mask their uneasy feelings towards Muslim/Arab people. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time but not sure I'd go back to give them another chance.
