I would never go to this place ever again..my family and I was treated with no respect. The assistant manager was rude very disrespectful to my son throw the money back on the counter and I hold my peace did not say anything. I was in this place getting help in my education with my tutor call the police for nothing This place show me blacks are not welcome. I was told that was disturbing the peace ask for my identification from the Royal Oak police. Didn't even ask my tutor for his identification?. I was told I was banned from this place. I came with my own chair sitting to my disability. To better myself my family, education and I have a disability that's discrimination all was getting tutor help. No one told me for a whole month that I couldn't be in there to get to tutor. I even patronized buying things from the bagel shop. This was sad I was disappointed that my children had to see their mother being disrespected. I showed my children regardless how someone treats you you still stand firm and be respectful regards situation may look.

The bagels are fresh and delicious, the prices are okay and the service is pretty fast!

The two hardworking ladies running this place are amazing!! They know their customers and go out of their way for all customers. The food comes out quickly and is quality!! Came in at 8am on a Thurs. and they had the place hopping.

It saddens me to have to write this negative review after I have personally written an amazing review for this place a few years ago. A year or so ago this location took all of it's staff and moved them and every since the place has gone drastically downhill. In the last few months I have witnessed rude comments from staff, dirty conditions, above except-able wait times and poor staffing. This morning's experience was the final blow. There was 1 staff member working for a busy Thursday 8am morning which is completely unacceptable. She was doing her best but the place was a mess, they were entirely out of almost all bagels and crumbs and packaging was all over the place (counters, floors, etc). I am appalled and how far this location has fallen and also very sad because I once loved it SO Much!

Awful awful wait for a simple bagel

This is the best Brueggers in the world, I mean I've only been to 6, but they are the best hands down in cleanliness, friendliness, freshness, realness they are so sweet and accommodating. When I travel and find there is another Breuggs i always end up so dissapointed because the other locations cant even compare. This location doesnt feel like a chain it feels totally local, and that's because of great management and employees. They make the place!

I went into this place TWICE last week with some of my classmates, was super excited being that we always eat at Starbucks in the morning and finally found a legit bagel shop, soon we walked in it was very unwelcoming the cashier was GREAT but the lady with the short hair fixing the food was terrible at customer service, I asked if I could substitute for a folded egg she blew me off with an attitude saying “umm no we don’t do any special requests AT ALL” and turned back around, once we got to the register we changed the cream cheese on our bagels and she got upset with the cashier for doing it saying be more clear and don’t do anymore special request which I didn’t understand how was that a “special” request everyone does not eat certain things!! She even told the cashier to shut up. We went back in the second day and she was the same way until two white guys came in and she welcomed them with open arms with a smile and everything! I will never spend my money at this establishment again! The food was great but customer service was not! I’ve worked in customer service over 10 years and I would never make anyone feel as unwelcome as she made me and my classmates feel!

My bagel arrived burnt. Since the dining room was closed I didn’t realize it until I had left the store. I returned and asked for a refund because it was burnt. The woman who had prepared it said next time ask for it to be “lightly toasted” as if it was my fault. I know the difference between burnt and “heavy toasted”. The woman who ran the register had an attitude too

So kind and thoughtful! The manager Kydie talked to me while my sandwich was in the works, and I told her I worked at a homeless youth shelter. She gave me over a dozen bagels and seemed so fulfilled to be able to help. Wonderful experience! The Lighthouse Sanctuary youth say thank you!

Awesome place! Brueggers put together a great breakfast carryout combo for my sons baseball team with muffins, bagels, and fixings. It was so easy, delicious, and the price was great. A big hit with the kids and the parents. THANK YOU!

The bagels are sooo delicious. I took my mom for the first time and I ordered the smoked salmon bagels. To say the least, she's made a secret trip to go back without me lol.

Some of our favorite bagels, we come here pretty often. Been to a few other places locally and they aren't as clean and as nice as this one. Attentive staff and orders have always been correct.

the staff was very kind and respectful. we got two bagels and the classic wrap, we all enjoyed our food and were very happy. the place is clean and they have a window where you can watch some of the bagel making process. we will definitely be coming back.

Second time I’ve tried coming to this location and they forgot avocado BOTH times. I’m from out of state and look forward to coming every time I’m in town. This is the worst bagel I’ve ever received, cream cheese on one half and forgetting the avocado. I tried calling after driving al l the way home with my food and there is no one to even talk to. Done with this place, don’t bother wasting your time here.

I love Bruegger's Bagels but I'm not a huge fan of this location. Every time I get a bagel at this location the bagel is as white as a sheet of paper. When I go to the location in Ann Arbor or the one in Rochester Hills the bagels are cooked to a nice golden brown. The bagels at the Royal oak location look almost raw. It has me nervous and I always have to ask them not to slice my bagel and for the cream cheese on the side. I then take the bagel back to work and I have to put it in the oven a little longer to get it golden brown to make sure it's cooked properly. I shouldn't have to do that. Rather than pick my favorite flavor, I pick the bagel that looks the darkest.

They maybe short staffed due to Covid just like every other business out there, but the staff here are awesome. No matter how long the line is they greet me with a smile. I can tell they are trying their hardest, I saw this location on the news and felt awful when the manager was explaining the impacts of Covid and staffing. So many places are hiring, just like this one and yet most seekers are playing the "let's make a deal" game versus being thankful for an opportunity. Sad.

I could post a rating rather commonly understood about the excellent menu and superior quality of their product but I would add that a lot of the weight carried at this location is established by the individual consumers and community surrounding in itself. In a location not far from a winter warming center for the homeless, and in need, that I myself utilized the night before, I had that same experience. While not expecting to taste the product alone, on an account of contributions in a monetary exchange for product and services.I became blessed by a young child that day, accompanied by another patron and customer shared more than their support for the hungry, but a tradition in my life in which when I was young I too was taught this same way and have been reminded again that the less fortunate may not have had a recent meal or have even had a chance to eat at such an established business as many consider to be of the common and almost as common that we forget this Tradition.

Nice bagel place. Line was a little long but service was quick! Recommend the smoked salmon and farmhouse bagel. Protip: Sometimes you’ll find coupons in the mail! Take advantage of those deals :)

Was a bit of a wait but had 2 employees working so I didn't mind. Went later in the day and still had a wide range if bagels available which I feel is unusual for most bagel shops so it was nice to still be able to have the choice of a speciality bagel if wanted. Overall was delicious and will be going back!

This review is for sitting area only. Since the pandemic they've been closing the sitting area. Until now (Sep 25, 2022), they are still closing the sitting area. other restaurants open their dining siting area not Bruegger's Bagels.

Every weekend we get a bagel sandwich and coffee from this place and it's consistently fantastic. Never anything other than fresh and fast. I don't know the names of the three workers that are always there but they're incredible and keep the place clean and running like a well -oiled machine.

Bagels were awesome, but the fact that no sitting is allowed ruined the whole experience! Come on, it’s been so long since COVID. At this point 99% of restaurants have seating available!

Very disappointed, started a new job and was excited to have a bagel sandwich shop right across street. Bagel was pale white, barely any turkey maybe two slices, lettuce was bad , onion were so strong I had to take off (which means they went bad) and I love onions! Soup was very good but unbelievably small bowl for what they charged. Very disappointed, they would have made a lot of money off me. I love bagels sandwiches…. **** update pretended to care but haven’t hear a thing

2 stars because the bagels are pretty good but everything else about this location is poor. Almost every time I come the line is incredibly slow and the workers seem understaffed. When you do get to order often times they’re out of many of the bagel flavors. Additionally there is no seating or restrooms available. Wish the owners would sell to someone else who has more appreciation for service and the customer experience.

Coffee counter filthy. Looked like no cleaning in days. Was there at 7:30 am. No sugar packets (heard them say to another person that they 'were out'....but there was at least a 1/4 cup spilled sugar in the spot where it should have been. Dirty counter, spills and behind the main counter it looked messy. I think they need more staff

First time trying this place! My bagel sandwich and cheese hashbrowns were fresh and great! My husband and I both enjoyed our breakfast. Will definitely visit again..

Got the bacon, avocado, and tomato sandwich without bacon and the smoked salmon bagel and both were amazing!

Kind of wish it was cut in half like I ordered. Also wish it were toasted like I ordered. My drink had no ice. Customer service was poor no greeting, no smiles. This location is unbelievably slow. Rochester location beats Royal oak out 10/1 I will never come back to this one.

It used to be one of my favorite places a few years ago and it is very sad to see it going downhill. Some employees are very rude and have a bad attitude to the point where it creates a very toxic atmosphere. Long wait (even when there is hardly anybody there), wrong orders, incorrectly made sandwiches doesn't help the situation. And on top of this the lady "in charge" Angelina keeps addressing me as 'hun" which is inappropriate. I don't think I would return there.

This place is awesome. It's a small menu but I appreciate it, because it means they can make them fast and with consistent quality. I've had the smoked salmon bagel twice now, and it's a pretty big serving, definitely worth the price. The twice baked hashbrown cakes are delicious. This is our new "bagel place".

It was great. Well worth the trip. I'm in the loyalty club which they look up with your phone number, which I didn't know so my order went on that which was super great!. They didnt have one flavor I was looking for but had another(salt) that was even better because these were for my sister coming back to this state from TN for a visit. So she will be very happy😄. Plus the selection of flavored cream cheeses was great and I got to pick 2 included with my dozen bagels. Got the honey walnut and can't wait to taste it!😀

This is most uninviting place in Royal Oak. Management and staff are unnecessarily rude with one bright exception, the young African American girl at the register. She is a sweetheart. When Karol managed this store the vibe was warm and welcoming. I'd been a customer for over a decade now but will not return to this location.
