Ordered fried vegetables. Got this. Not sure what this is but was inedible. Also when food was brought out, bugs that were flying followed. The food was mostly inedible and disgusting. Pretty sure the vegetables were rotten that they served us and the onion ring batter was raw. And then the bill was $50 for three appetizers that were all not edible. Still tipped the waiter good even though his service was lacking. Just save your time and money and don’t eat here.

This place has an artsy feel to it with the paintings on the walls. It's hopping abs has a hipster atmosphere. The food was okay, bar quality in my opinion. They do have a wide variety if veggitarian options.

Chose here as it was vegetarian friendly. Really cool industiral atmosphere. Great area to take a date for a causal night out. Drinks were the bomb, i ordered their twist on a hot toddy. The food was great for both of us. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Came out perfect. overall this place is very good

Simple little cafe by the University. Wonderful quiet place to study. Vegans: only two options. I was expecting more as it said that it is vegan online. The brocoli soup (vegan) is horrible. The coconut curry (vegan) is excellent and I highly recommend it. Even for non vegan. Good presentation of dishes. Friendly staff.

Absolutely great find! Good food, ambience and the service is something i was very very impressed by. Definitely recommend and will come back for the food, price, lovely staff and the general vibe of the place.

The vegan options I got from Cass Cafe were so filling and flavorful! I got the stuffed pepper with squash (pictured) and a lentil walnut burger to-go. I absolutely loved the local art on the walls. I even recognized one of the artist because we attended Wayne State University (WSU) together. I'm sad they're now closed for business, yet they were definitely a staple in Midtown Detroit. Thanks to the waitress for taking the picture of my friend and I! The flies and gnats made it hard to enjoy my food peacefully, yet I do understand how hard it is to keep them out. Well wishes to all on your new journey! F, 7.8.2022

We’ve always loved Cass Cafe and enjoyed the food and drinks in Midtown. Great regular spot to eat and drink. Just make sure to see that gratuity is included in the price. The menu items have declined ever-so-slight since they updated about a year ago, but it’s still good and worth a try! Edit: bike racks are available on the south side of the building. It’s a small “sidewalk alley” with four(?)ish racks

Went for a romantic Valentine's dinner, and that's definitely what I got. The atmosphere of this place made us feel like we were dining in an art gallery. The food was good, the music choice was great, the staff was phenomenal. Can't think of a thing that could be better

We tried most of the chicken items here - sandwich, tender, and wings. Enjoyed the overall experience!

They have a really good salmon sandwich that is very filling and delicious along with their fries. They offer pick up and delivery to all around midtown. They are fast in order and food is great. I would recommend 100%. There’s more on the menu I’ve been meaning to try also. Lots of variation and they include vegan and dairy free options. You won’t be disappointed.

You can always count on the Cass Cafe for a good experience. We've lunched and dined here many times through the years. Their menu is diverse (yes, it has changed through the years) and the food is always tasty. Beer selection and cocktails top-notch. Love the changing art exhibits which always feature local artists. It is within walking distance of the Cultural Center so we had dinner here ahead of a 7pm show at the Detroit Film Theatre. This would be a good place to wind down following an afternoon in the Cultural Center! Thanks too for having live music on Noel Night!

I haven't had the pleasure of dining in or carryout yet. I was simply walking by. I did go inside looks very dark and secluded. My try something next time.

Used to go here years ago. Was great then and is great now. Glad to see they are still around and largely unchanged. Try the Retro Artichoke Sandwich. Really good. Waitstaff/Bartenders nice as always.

What a little gem. Delicious food, good welcoming service, Detroit and famiy owned. My brother, husband and I really enjoyed eating outside while we relaxed between scooter rides. So much fun celebrating my brother's birthday!

I lived in Cass Corridor growing up and on and off for 48 years. Cass Cafe has been very good to me good food good friends. Great atmosphere. Shout out to Dave Robert's for showing my artwork here came for the total experience. The posthumous art show for Detroit artist Rico Africa, and the beer battered fish and chips. Sorry no photos. I did create a live video on Facebook live.🍟

used to really love their food but it seems that it has gotten worse. Their lentil burger just tasted like a bean paddy, and their vegan style wings are no longer Quorn but poorly fried cauliflower, with batter chunks all in the sauce and none on the actual cauliflower.

Love, love, LOVED their Tofu Scramble! So very sorry they're permanently closing at the end of July, 2022. 😥

Egg was uncooked and sausages frozen... I understand that there is a short staffing problem everywhere, but you have to adapt (maybe shrink the menu? Maybe reduce capacity?).
