Very interesting history, especially islamic immigrants to Dearborn and also the early use of the building as an armory for storing gunpowder in the late 1800s.

A small place but with helpful staff that will tell all about the history of Dearborn! They're very friendly and will try their best to answer your questions. The gift shop is also amazing to pick up a souvenir or two to even deck out your own home!

I went here on a Field trip with Dearborn Schools. It was a learning experience for the students. It remanded me of a very smaller version of what the Greenfield Village offers. They have a home set up of what it looked like many many years ago and it gave the students a first hand view of things. They even got to learn about the different types of crops they grew as well as how to make butter! The final moment of the trip was a little history on a variety of artifact they had in the basement of the museum. They also got to expierence first hand what it was like to go to school in the past as well. Great insight for our students to learn about.

A great place to stop in and learn about Dearborn’s history. The archivist upstairs is incredibly helpful if you have a research interest. Definitely worth stopping in.

We’ve toured both locations with a private tour each time at both sites. Such great history my daughter and I learned about Michigan, the early settlers and of Henry Ford and his legacy.

My sister and I donated a couple dolls that were our mothers. They were very helpful and kind, wanting to hear the story/history behind the dolls and baby carriage.

I have very fond memories of the historical museum from my childhood and after visiting again recently, those memories are not misplaced. The museum hosts a lot of interesting lectures on a variety of topics related to local history - they bring in experts and they're oftentimes free. I highly recommend attending one of their events if you're at all interested in local culture.

Well of course I like it. It's beautiful historical Building inside and out and every year our paranormal team hosts a paranormal investigation at all three buildings so you get to not only investigate but see all of the history in the side.

Journey back in Dearborn's history touring one of the oldest structures in Dearborn. Back when their was Fort Dearborn this structure was used as the arsenal to store ammo and gun powder, in some parts of the building the walls are very thick.

I was very impressed. I went for a sale. But was able to view some of the displays. This place is a hidden jewel I have driven by several times. It helps put the history of our (the Metro Detroit area) in perspective. A period home giving a window to the past. Hopefully to build a better future by knowing the past.

👍👍 This factory tour is about 2 hours long and is very well worth it. We first took their bus from the Museum Visitor Center to the factory complex, which is humongous. We first watched a film about the history of Ford Motor Company and how Henry Ford set up production lines to mass produce the Model...
