Was
seen
in
the
ER
in
August
for
what
turned
out
to
be
a
gallbladder
attack.
They
didn’t
have
large
gowns
so
I
walked
to
the
bathroom
and
back
with
my
buttcheeks
hanging
out
a
few
times.
I
threw
up
after
being
given
morphine
and
vomited
so
forcefully
I
wet
myself,
and
they
didn’t
have
large
adult
diapers
either.
All
that
aside,
during
release
I
asked
what
to
do
if
the
pain
returned
and
was
simply
told
“don’t
eat
fats”
and
to
“follow
up
with
a
surgeon”.
I
did
so
and
was
scheduled
for
gallbladder
surgery
this
coming
Thursday.
Got
the
preregistration
link
today
and
at
the
end
it
said
to
come
with
$6750
to
pay
my
bill
on
Thursday.
My
ER
bill
just
came
in
the
mail
2
days
ago
and
is
only
$800
so
I
didn’t
know
where
the
rest
of
the
balance
was
from,
because
my
total
out
of
pocket
from
my
insurance
is
even
less
than
that.
Called
“billing”
which
is
actually
an
offshore
call
center,
had
the
call
dropped
twice
when
they
were
transferring
me
around
to
different
departments
within
their
call
center,
every
transfer
was
a
cold
transfer
so
I
had
to
verify
who
I
was
and
why
I
was
calling
every
single
time.
Finally
they
said
I
needed
to
talk
to
the
hospital
and
transferred
me
to
preregistration
there,
who
were
exceptionally
rude
because
“patients
always
call
them
and
they
have
nothing
to
do
with
it
and
I
needed
to
call
billing”.
When
I
tried
to
explain
that
billing
was
the
one
who
transferred
me
there
she
cut
me
off
and
told
me
to
stop
talking,
and
told
her
coworkers
“this
lady
keeps
trying
to
talk
over
me”.
Called
my
surgeon
to
see
if
he
operates
out
of
any
other
hospital
and
told
the
office
staff
everything
I’d
been
dealing
with.
She
said
she’d
call
me
back
but
instead
I
got
a
call
back
from
the
call
center
to
let
me
know
my
surgery
pre
auth
was
approved.
I’m
like
“great,
but
that’s
not
why
I
was
calling”.
I
called
DMC,
found
a
surgeon
there,
and
called
my
insurance
to
cancel
this
pre
auth,
then
left
a
message
for
my
surgeon
to
cancel
my
surgery
too.
Who
knows
if
they’ll
check
their
messages
but
it’s
their
problem
now.
I
don’t
trust
a
hospital
to
cut
me
open
if
they
can’t
even
communicate
effectively
prior
to.
I
don’t
trust
they’ll
give
me
adequate
care
before
or
post
op,
or
even
if
I’d
survive
the
surgery
at
this
point.
They
get
the
extra
star
because
the
staff
that
did
my
ultrasound
and
transported
me
to
and
from
radiology
were
kind
at
least.
My
advice
to
them
is
to
find
a
new
hospital
to
take
your
skills
to.
Even
though
this
place
is
right
down
the
street
from
my
house,
I’ll
gladly
drive
the
30
minutes
to
DMC
Huron
Valley
for
peace
of
mind.
Edit:
Updating
this
review
to
add
that
I
called
patient
advocate
that
Friday
as
well
and
got
an
automated
system.
I
left
a
message.
They
didn't
call
me
back
until
the
following
Wednesday.
Patient
care
is
a
joke
at
this
hospital.
