If I could leave a negative number I would. Got there at 540pmā€¦ my husband lifted something he shouldnā€™t have and we believe gave himself a hernia. I understand ers are busyā€¦.the ladies at the desk care more about gossip and laughing instead of doing their job. My husband was in so much pain he was throwing up and almost passed out..he was clammy and in a cold sweat. Other ppl were complaining and 4 ppl left bc they waited so long. I asked what I should do with the bucket he threw up in and she told me to put in garbage outside hospitalā€¦ that doesnā€™t seem right. She also got in three verbal fights with ppl needing info. There was a pillow and blanket left outsideā€¦ dirty mask and food left on tablesā€¦. So my husband had to use the bathroom and noticed he was peeing out tons of bloodā€¦what does the lady do? Finished chatting with her coworker. By this time itā€™s 930 and no help. We left and heā€™s at Henry Ford in Dearborn and was super busy and they took him in. Oh hereā€™s a pic of the waiting room while they couldnā€™t help him

If I could rate 0 stars, I would. My mom spent 6 days in here following a surgery and not once was she given a bath let alone being offered a clean gown, a washcloth, a towel, anything for normal everyday hygiene. Wouldn't this alone help to make a person feel better? This is just common sense, and wouldn't take a degree to figure out. As far as the post-op care, there is a total disconnect between most nurses on the floor and the doctor. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Everyone operates on their own and not as a whole. It's a very sad thing. So much for HEALTH care.

From reception to treatment, the staff are caring for me quickly and very compassionate. I didn't wait at all to get in a room and see a doctor less than an hour later. I'm back in the hospital for emergency care for a seriously painful abscess. Dr Jacobs and the surgeons are wonderful. Additionally my nurse Sarah is amazing. I'm here laying in bed in the ER but everything is much smoother and compassionate than my other hospital visit a couple days ago at University of Michigan. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this hospital based on the care I'm receiving right now. Thank you nurse Sara and Dr Jacobs and surgeon team

The initial visit to the ER was very successful, they saved my dadā€˜s life. The next week was a horror show. They never moved him, which created painful bedsores which we are having to deal with. They would plop food down, I have no idea how he was supposed to eat it, it was always cold and out of his reach. Also, unless requested multiple times they wouldnā€™t change him or assist him in any way. I donā€™t know how he got out of there alive. Iā€™m not kidding. Worst hospital experience ever.

I had a very good and positive experience at GCH! That includes all the staff that assisted me.I felt like I had known all of them forever. And s for Dr.Khan? He is an amazing doctor,I was put at ease with him the first time we met while I was hospitalized.I am so glad to have him as one of my attending physician. He is very knowledgeable as well as caring towards his patients.I wouldn't trade him for anyone else!

My Father in law is currently in your Covid unit and arrived by ambulance. As a doctor myself I am horrified at the lack of communication with family members who are worried sick and have no updates on his status and health. After calling all day and all night and being told that the nurse would call us back, I was finally able to get a hold of a nurse almost 24 hours after he was admitted. No one ever called me back. None of the family was ever called by a doctor, not even his wife. I was told that a doctor would call us today and still have not heard from anyone. I called early this morning and was told the nurse would call me back after she got out of his room. Hours have passed and still nothing. We need the doctors to let us know what is going on. This is absolutely unacceptable communication by the staff. Update: Now it's almost been 48 hours since he was admitted and a doctor has NOT called us or spoken to any of the relatives or immediate family. I have been calling throughout today only to have them take my number down and tell me that they'll call me back. This has been going on the whole time he's been in the hospital...

After waiting 5 hours in an undisclosed Hospital because I do not want to bash them do to covid-19 overwhelm, I was pleasantly greeted by Hussein and another very nice young lady in the foyer and promptly taken to a room. This was for emergency room treatment. Once in the room I was expeditiously seen by a very pleasant woman doctor who took care of the issue I'm having my ear completely plugged in no time and was extremely professional and cordial. I thank God for this experience and I felt it was my duty to leave feedback because of all the negativity about these hospitals. Yes it's true that some people are rude and just because they have a uniform on does not make the whole staff rude. I think if people displayed a little more patience in their situation that they would have greater results. Just stopped to think sometimes what it would be like to have no arms no legs or sitting in the Intensive Care being kept Alive by a machine. Maybe we would be a little more sensitive to their situation. Thank you doctor and thank you for the wonderful staff may God bless you for your awesome concern for people Beyond a paycheck. Addendum 12/4/2020 once again had to come for swollen kneecap and got the exact same treatment so I know it's consistent. Greeted by Hussien(awesome guy). Another pleasant woman doctor and another awesome experience even though I had to have the knee drained with a needle šŸ™„ thank you for helping people even the ones that don't appreciate you. The staff in the ER is amazing!!!!

If I can give 0 stars I would. I usually get good service here, this time, my wife went to the Emergency Room and waited 3 hours, staff was extremely rude and inconsiderate, after around 2 hours of waiting, a patient walks in, Had the nurse meet them at the front and took them right in. This type of favoritism is not acceptable, especially when someone is experiencing excruciating pain. My family will no longer go to this hospital.

Excellent care. My surgeon was Dr. Lawley and I was definitely in good hands with him. My O.R. team was professional and attentive. I don't remember everyone's names but who could forget Lizzie and Cal! My post op nurse in recovery was great! Professional but warm and engaging. Thank you for calming me and taking such good care of me.

Had to have a CAT scan on my heart. It was a great experience. They took me in on time, had the necessary labs done, got the results back and we started our process of getting ready for the scan. Siera who was my nurse was just wonderful. Very professional, friendly, concerned and explained everything I had questions to. Definitely would use Garden City Hospital for any further testing I need to have.

The people of Garden City Hospital were all very professional, very kind, and caring to me for my entire stay. I also watched as they endured profane insults and desparagements from patients, with a grace that I found admirable. I would like to thank them all for making my stay as pleasant as possible. I now need to add to my review that I discovered when I got home that money had been stolen from my wallet. I was in my room almost the entire time. I can only think that someone entered the room while I was asleep. I called Garden City Hospital security, and they were no help at all. They told me to file a complaint with the Garden City Police. They wouldn't even review their security cameras. I recommend that anyone who has to stay at Garden City Hospital have anything of value given to a relative to take home. I'm so disappointed with the lack of concern shown by the hospital over theft on their premises. I had originally given 5 stars.

Had a pleasant stay for 3 days... everyone was extremely polite and friendly, from the doctors, nurses, food service and maintenance workers. We saw the doctors on a timely schedule, they took their time explaining and answering any and all questions. Nurses are wonderful! So helpful and understanding... they bring the personal touch.

This was an amazing hospital and hospitality you could ever imagine on floor 2! These doctors are amazing and they will walk past your door and just check on you to make sure you are doing well. I was transferred from Port huron to garden city, 2 hours away! And they made me feel great and much better after the second I got there to the 5 days until I got out. Again thank you so much!!!

I highly recommend the hospital due to my own experience in the E.R. which was very attentative by the staff and they stood by me and did not leave at all til I was under control...they were very friendly and I felt very comfortable . Even when I was admitted the nurses were very welcoming and always doing their job. I always experienced uneasiness in hospitals, but this time, the case was not like that.. I was more relaxed...

If I could give these people a -1, I would. The information to check my son and myself Covid results was wrong so I couldnā€™t check our Covid results. I called the hospital and the phone operator was very rude. When I asked how to get my Covid results, she told me I donā€™t know and hung up on me. I would strongly advise you to skip this hospital and sad to say go to your nearest corner health center. Their service is that bad.

Slow!! One line and there's no way to get out. I expect to be in the covid line for 2 hrs and I'm sick with frequent need of facilities. After 6 months of covid you'd think they'd have a better system in place.

The entire staff in the ER was compassionate and took the time to sit and talk to my daughter making sure all her concerns were addressed. My daughter was very stressed and worried about what was wrong and garden city ER staff taking the extra time with her really made a lifelong impact on not only her but myself as well. I can't thank all the ER staff for everything they do!

It was a very long wait once in e.r. took 3 hours to start a bag of fluids the doc said that would make me feel a little better! Then the nurse tells me it's better to sleep in your own bed and tells me its time to leave? Dr never even spoke to me after my ultrasound?? Very disappointed

Staff was extremely friendly. They have a very kind bedside manner and when I expressed I had some fears about a test, they were understanding. I couldn't find the address where imaging was located from my GPS, so I went inside the main entrance of Garden City Hospital to the information desk. The friendly staff at the information desk pointed behind the desk to a long hallway where the imaging department is located - inside the hospital. The GPS could be more clear, so I included a couple of photos of the imaging department signs inside the main hospital. I hope this helps someone who may be a little confused about finding the building like I was.

My overall experience was great. I went in for a chopped finger and was in and out within 1 hour. Front desk checked me in quickly and took me back right away. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Doctor was great, took care of my wound immediately and was patient with me through my pain and fear. Meds were administered quickly and was out the door. Thank you!

The Labor and Delivery nurses are amazing! I had both of my babies there one in December of ā€˜21 and the other December of ā€˜22 and the staff were nothing but nice to me. My nurse Priscilla went above and beyond for me I was lucky enough to have her for both of my deliveries she helped me breathe through the pain helped put me in positions to get my baby out quicker and was just the sweetest, kindest to me and my husband. Chelsea was also very helpful to me the first time I gave birth talking me through everything unfortunately she wasnā€™t there the second time a gave birth and I canā€™t remember the other names of the nurses who helped me but they all went above and beyond SO thankful for this entire Labor and delivery team!

I came into the emergency room with extremely high blood pressure. The nurse at intake immediately read me and pulled me into the emergency room. She was super caring and attentive to my emergency. When I went to the emergency room and was put in a bed the Doctors and Nurses took care of me. I was then sent to ICU at which time the medical team took care of me just as the emergency room did. When they were able to get me stable I transferred to the 2nd floor which proved to be the same care. They were attentive, responsive and showed they cared. When I was discharged I had an issue with my prescriptions. The two pharmacists I spoke with were amazing as well. They went above and beyond to help me. I truly want to thank the entire staff.

Just took my mother up there today (8/17/22) due to a failure of a surgery from St. Maryā€™s. Had high hopes they could help since my mom was pouring blood from her wound. Instead the female emergency doctor gave my mom attitude and asked ā€œwhy would you even come here instead of going to the hospital that did the surgeryā€. I guess my bad for needing to take my mom to the nearest hospital so she didnā€™t bleed out. 2 stars because the man that assisted with bring my mom in was fantastic so not fair to not give him the credit he deserves. Teach your entitled doctors manners.

I went the ER past midnight and the front desk had no one there. I didnt get good impression and thought about leaving but came back. I mentioned i booked a time on website, and the lady said we dont use that and I dont know why we still have it. Finally front desk lady checked me in and she was overall pleasant person . The place and waiting room was empty. The nurse was nice too but she didnt care to wear a mask when i informed her i have covid. I figured oh well but i wouldn't want to be the next patient. Then i got into a room where i waited for more than an hour. I didnt hear any other patients come in and i thought this would have been quick but instead it was the other way around. I opened the door and complained to the nurse assistant. She was very nice and helpful and went to the back to hunt down a dr for me. After an additional 10 minutes the Dr. came in and apologized for the delay. He did a good job diagnosing and gave me quick pain relief injection. I also informed the Dr that im covid positive but he didn't have any concern wearing a mask. I found that a bit odd. Overall got the job done. The ER facility looked old and outdated, the front desk was no where to be found maybe because they were slow. But then i still waited longer much longer than i expected. At the end the team members were nice but not punctual, not wearing mask around covid patient was a bit odd for their safety and other patients. But at the end of it all i got the treatment i came in for.

Long history of complications at this hospital. Unreasonable waiting times both before & after check-in. None of the staff seem to be on the same page or very knowledgeable. Most recently, upon discharge, one of the nurses removed my pregnant girlfriendā€™s IV while it was still taped to her hand, causing excessive pain & bleeding. Wouldnā€™t return to this hospital if all of my limbs had been severed & there was nowhere else to go.

Went in for severe back pain, doctor came in asked me to describe pain but did not do a through exam or really do much of anything but prescribe a pain medication that, according to my pharmacy, was on back order for at least a month. Went back to get a copy of return to work form and the receptionist lied and said I'd have to get it from my primary physician. Would not recommend, actually would avoid at all cost Next time I will make the trip to St. Joe in Ann Arbor. Front desk staff definitely needs a refresher on honesty and empathy.

I went to Garden City Hospital for my yearly mammogram. My appointment was at 8:20am and I was asked to arrive at 8:00am. Iā€™ve written many very honest and not so great reviews about GCH related to my own personal visits. However, the last 2 visits with my husband and my son were fabulous! We had to rush for stitches yesterday and the staff was amazing. Literally Everyone! The Dr who gave my son stitches had a difficult job ahead of him with the cut being in my sons mouth and in an awkward spot. He did an amazing job. Patient, calm, explained everything to us. Very happy, maybe theyā€™re changing for the better!

From the moment I stepped through the doors I was treated with respect and care. Everyone was kind and explained everything to my daughter and myself. I was put to ease by the nurse assigned to me and she had to calm me down after my vein was blown in my hand, which really scared me. She assured me it was OK. I would recommend this hospital for tests needing to be done like the one I had. Very happy with all.

I need to have a blood draw about every two weeks. I love using this particular lab as I usually donā€™t have to wait long for the registration. It is quick, no appointment required ( as other labs do) and everyone here is friendly. In-and-out, on my time schedule, thatā€™s what I like.

Everyoneā€™s very nice especially since it was the night before thanksgiving. Doctor was patient and knowledgeable. He was very kind and helped me understand what was going on and was very thorough. I know GCH gets some bad comments at times but I have always had very good experiences there.

I was early as usual but they didn't seem to mind everyone was smiles and a genuine concern from the registration to the nurses checking me in, the anesthesiologist, intern, o.r. nurse and the Dr. very professional and very nice I can't say enough good things about my experience and it was because of all the people I came in contact with I would like to thank them all very much and I appreciate the work they do.

I had a life threatening experience which could have been so much worse. From the time that I was admitted to the time of discharge, I was treated with compassionate, kind, loving, and professional care from every staff member that I came in contact with. I was frightened and unsure of how things would unfold. I say that to say this; staff made the entire experience so much easier and so much more comfortable. That was my first time ever being at Garden City Hospital and I would not hesitate to go back if need be. Thank you Garden City Hospital for the wonderful care that you gave me. I am grateful.

I'm currently in the ER and have not been checked on once. Arrived 2 1/2 hours ago, received IV and been ignored ever since. The girl is sitting at the desk on her phone the entire time. Is it to much to ask for a head pop in asking if I need anything? Because I do.

I showed up at ER in the middle of the night with a PSVT episode unlike I had never experienced. I was immediately ushered in and given expert lifesaving care and treated like I was the only patience there, when I was not. I had an outstanding experience and they were spot on and incredibly fast and efficient with their amazing care for me. Thanks to everyone.......from the support staff to the RN's, and doctors who were there providing expert on time care for me when I needed them in a moment's notice! Sincerely, R. Dawkins

I have had more support at this hospital. They helped as much as they could. They were thorough, quick and that's important to me.

Horrible experience, rude nurses, care being ignored, discharged too soon, had to return, internal bleeding, again second visit rude nurses, these nurses need to remember why they're working in a hospital the ones they have no heart need to leave

Nice hospital but they took me from the lobby to put me in another lobby , and waited 3 hours sitting on a chair. I was not directed to a room, I had to make my chairs like a bed and lay on them. Many nurses/doctors passed by me aad dident say/do anything. They took care of me (checked my blood pressure/fever at the chairs. The doctor seen me at the chairs. I was discharged at the chairs..... The doctor only seen me once told me what was wrong I told him I had a fever and sore throat . He said did you the covid test yet I said no, he said once that is done we will see from there. The covid test was done but the doctor never came back. Nor did I get any medicine . The nurse came with my discharge papers and I told her did he prescribed me sore throat medicine . She said no we're they supposed to prescribe you any medicine. I told her I had fever and sore throat for 2 days. I mainly came for my sore throat she said let me check with the doc. She goes checks, comes back , says just keep taking the tylonal and motrin that you have at home and the sore throat will get better

I delivered 2 babies there and everyone was great. The wait at the front desk takes awhile. After checking in and registering thereā€™s always been little to no wait. This is our go to hospital.

Dr. Nguyen is my PCP and I could not be more happy with my physician. He is attentive and his bedside manner is amazing. He even goes the extra mile. He is very knowledgeable and equally at entertaining (comedian). Thank you so much for taking care of me.

Garden City hospital emergency unit is amazing. I was treated as a person and even though they didn't have beds they worked it out to ensure quality care. They were patient with me and the doctor came over after she received my results from tests to update me. Beaumont staff really need to come over to Garden City to learn a few lessons on how to run an emergency unit. Awesome job to the Garden City emergency unit!!!!!

No long wait in the waiting room. Everyone was very professional and understanding of my problem and treated me with respect. I was asked if I wanted a chaperone. Made me feel comfortable during my procedure both physically and mentally. Gave me clear instructions on what to do when I got home and asked if I had a doctor to follow up with. Highly recommend Garden City Hospital.

I came to the ER on Christmas due to an ankle injury. Jordan took me to x-ray and he was very gentle during the process. The doctors I saw were also very kind. I had my x-ray results in less than 30 minutes. I have never experienced such quick service in a hospital's ER before. Thank you!

Last week while on vacation, I became extremely ill. Not being familiar with the city and reluctant to check myself into the emergency room, I gave Dr. a call. He arrived at my hotel within 40 minutes and delivered both fantastic bedside manner and medical care. As a native New Yorker, I was admittedly skeptical. But Dr.'s experience and board certifications put me at ease. I was back on my feet the next day!

I recently visited the emergency department at Garden City Hospital with a loved one and was extremely impressed with the comprehensive evaluation and care provided by the emergency department physician and his team. As a physician myself, I made sure not to mention my profession to ensure my relative received the same level of care as any other patient. The emergency department team worked tirelessly to quickly assess and stabilize my loved one's condition. I highly recommend Garden City Hospital for their exceptional emergency medical care.

I was going to apply to work at this hospital, but they wanted me to sign an arbitration agreement. Edit & Update: A very nice gentleman from HR reached out to me regarding my review to explain that the arbitration agreement would still allow one to sue, but would keep it out of the court and out of the press. You would also still be allowed to appeal the decision. That sounds a lot better, however for me and others that may still be a concern. In other words, still sounds shady just less so, but some people may prefer that kind of privacy with their employer. However, I wouldnā€™t sign anything like that without at least a job offer. Still pretty bold in my opinion. Updating to 3 stars because the man was very nice.

I had a scheduled, elective induction at 39 weeks for the birth of my second child at Garden City Hospital and I canā€™t say enough nice things about the doctors and nurses on staff. The residents were amazing and I felt I was in amazing care with them the entire time. My doctor missed my delivery, but I felt safe and in great hands with the resident who delivered my son, as well as the attending physician who assisted. The L&D nurses are amazing and I canā€™t thank them enough for taking wonderful care of me, my son, and my husband. I didnā€™t meet one single doctor or nurse that I didnā€™t like. Excellent birth experience at GCH.

I had to go to ER, if they don't think what you come in for qualifies as an emergency then you'll wait and wait, ask a question at ER desk get hostile attitude. I don't plan to return. I've gave them the benefit of the doubt from times before and they disappoint everytime.

Don't go here if you value your health, time, or well being. If you like being treated poorly by rude nurses and made to feel like you don't matter at all this is the perfect hospital for you.

  • 3/5 Catherine P. 3 years ago on Google
Everyone in the Emergency room that helped me with my shoulder injury were very polite and friendly, although I left with no answers. I feel this is because I have no health insurance. I haven't been to a doctor or hospital in over 20 years, so it has to be a true emergency for me to visit one. I am still in severe pain to the point of tears,as I fear it is a torn rotator cuff. I was offered xrays to check for broken bones, a sling and 2 OTC tylenol, which did nothing for the throbbing horrible pain I am in. I understand that people fake injuries to get pain meds, but some of us really need them to get through a severe injury. I was referred to their resident orthopedist but hit another wall because of the lack of insurance. Health care in America is worthless unless you have money.

The entire ED team was very good. Triage was done quickly. The nurse was thorough. The ED Drā€™s examination addressed all my concerns. Radiology testing was done quickly. ED Dr. reviewed all results and I believe made a correct diagnosis. Facility was clean. I would seek medical care there again.
