Beautiful place to be with lots of opportunities. Tennis, fishing, running, biking, hammocking, casino. You name it, it can be done. With beautiful scenery.

Such a beautiful park with lots to do and explore. You can do walking, golfing, biking, kayaking, fishing, boating etc. there’s plenty of spots for picnic. You can visit the museums, fountain etc. the skyline looks beautiful from this side of the river. It’s a beautiful place to spend an entire day. The botanical garden was closed. But other than that there so much to do here. Do check them out.

Need Recreation Passport for entry, but seldom there's anyone checking though. You can beautiful view of Detroit downtown as well as the view of Windsor. Great time to visit during sunset hours across the view of Renaissance center as a background

I had the most beautiful time here. I enjoyed the outside nature and beautiful spot's of Belle Park. Take your family out and get some fresh air. Remember to take a look around what in front, behind you, and even on your side. You will be surprised if what pictures you may capture on your trip to this beautiful place.

An absolutely beautiful place, the aquarium and maritime museum were wonderful. I’ll have to come back in 2024 to explore the conservatory and gardens!

GREAT Park, wonderful gem in the city. Rivals central park. So much to do! Great place to bike! After shooting some golf with my boy, went on a bike ride and did some geo- aching.

This was my first trip to Belle Isle in 3 years. It was a beautiful summer day on July 4th weekend. There was a long line to get on this State Island Park, formerly a City of Detroit park. I have been coming here my entire life more than 60 years. Things have changed, mostly for the better. You now need a State of Michigan Recreation Pass to enter. Today was so busy the entrance sentry waived everybody through. My first observations are how clean the park now is. As far as I could observe all comfort stations are now open and very clean! Scott Fountain was so clean and beautiful I hardly recognized this iconic Detroit landmark! The beach is so nice and clean and family oriented that it was heart warming! Young children, ice cream truck and umbrellas abound!🌞The last time I was here the island was swarming with Michigan State Police cars pulling people over in mass. Today I did not see a single State Police officer, however I saw an inordinate amount of Michigan Conservation Officers, lights flashing and quite imposing. Obviously, we want a park where there is a presence of law enforcement, but it goes too far when you feel like a police state. All in all a very pleasant experience looking at Canada, the Detroit River, the freighters and friendly people!😃

One of the coolest places I've been too. The staff was amazing and greeted us warmly, have my kids a scavenger hunt and sent us off. Going through the paths was incredible. All the flora is very well taken care of and is represented in the growth. The paths are very neat and tidy, and there was no crowding. If you're around Belle Isle you absolutely need to check this place out. I will definitely be coming back here to walk around more

Wanted to check out a nice nature spot before heading back to Wisconsin and I enjoyed my time there. There was a little bit of litter but the beauty of the views overshadowed that. Meditated for a little bit near where the water met the rocks and left for the road feeling good.

Hadn't visited the island in many years except for the annual indy car races which I love. Overall improvements are incredible. State park service is doing great work. 2 thumbs up!

very beautiful park on the island. When you cross the bridge, you enter the freedom zone. Unfortunately, all walking complexes, such as the aquarium and the botanical garden, close very early, we did not have time to visit there. I would like to go longer on weekends. also a beautiful sunset point with a photo zone. the fountains are also no longer working, although the weather is still excellent.

Everything was closed. No terrarium, no aquarium. If it weren't for the place scapes it would've been a pretty dull day.

Belle Isle is such a gem. What a lovely place to spend an afternoon. I was disappointed that the conservatory and gardens, the aquarium, and the Dossin's Museum were closed, but the bathrooms are open and sparkling. Worth walking, biking, or picnicking.

A lot of gnats and goose poop but other then that, it's very nice. Big enough to where you wouldn't bump into anyone either.

This has been my favorite place in Detroit since I was a little girl. My family used to spend the night on the island. We'd grill, play and sleep!! Glad to see it being brought back to its original beauty. Still the Best spot in Detroit!! Go see for yourself!

Wonderful island with a lot to discover on a day with new playground at the zoo and nice beaches and places to stop. Even on a busy day worth going as you will find a spot.

What a great place to get away for a day and enjoy the weather. A visit to the Aquarium is a definite must-do. The conservatory is another spot you should definitely visit and enjoy. The plant diversity in that building is simply incredible.

We went on a busy Saturday in July. This was such a fun place to visit. The aquarium and conservatory are definitely old, but in decent repair considering. It was cool to see a part of history.

Been a little while since I had been to Belle Isle. The park has had it's ups and downs over the years. It was a beautiful day. Seems as if the state is putting a effort into cleaning it up. I am pleased to see this. I hope they will bring the areas and structures donated by the caring people of Detroit. I imagine they see their donations slowly crumbling saddens them. The conservatory is the jewelry of the park. I sure we spend a majority of our time admiring the beauty. There is a donations box as you enter. I was disappointed to see very little in it in spite of the numbers of visitors. Please do your part.

Beautiful place. Nice bicycle trails. The aquarium and the conservatory are beautiful and worth the visit. One negative aspect though is the relative large amount of trash, specially plastic bottles, bags and packing everywhere you go. The metroparks receive better care.

Michigan State Parks is doing a nice job renovating/updating Belle Isle and it's facilities. We saw work progressing throughout the park when we visited in mid October 2020. I say "Thanks" to the State of Michigan for taking over the park and to it's employees and contractors for their work. We've always enjoyed visiting the island and are happy to see the updates.

Nice experience. Some part of the park is filled with bird’s defication. Loved the view of the park and we visited the park on Thanksgiving’s so it was completely empty which made our visit more enjoyable.

We were looking for an outdoor spot to eat lunch by the water. We saw this on Google maps and decided to give it a shot. We quickly found a nice grassy spot alongside the river. There were some bird around but they left us alone. After we ate and took pictures we drove around the island. It was beautiful with all of the trees showing their fall colors. I’m not sure why, but there was no admission fee, which was nice.

My husband and I took part of the Susan G. Komen, walk for breast cancer 🎀. I was diagnosed last year in September 2022, with IDC and DCIS. I felt it was time to start taking action in the Breast Cancer Community and this was a start...Walking amongst those who are survivors, I felt the love and support ❤ 💕 it gave me a sense of hope. Belle Isle Park was the perfect scenery, watching the change leaves changing to fall colors, hearing the birds sing, and most of all, remembering when my mother would bring my sister and I there to play in the park and part take in activities. My husband and I enjoyed every bit of it. Gave us both a sense of calming.

This is my city. My beloved D. I've been going to Belle Isle for 38 years. It's part of my heart. It's so beautiful, and really makes Detroit unique. It's always a good time. I go when it's raining... I love my city.

Nice place for cycling. Rode bikes around the park with a few others. Visibility is great and vehicles traveling in the park were very respective of cyclists. There are bike lanes all around the park and the asphalt surface is smooth except for one minor rough spot that was under construction.

Belle Isle park is a beautiful park to ytake the family. The aquarium is great for kids. Very scenic and you may even be lucky enough to see a Bald Eagle! The fountain is also amazing!

Belle isle Park is a true gem in Detroit. There is a lot to see and do on this island. The aquarium, conservatory, and nature center maybe the Stars but with a little more exploring you will encounter much more.. wildlife (bald eagles, deer), lighthouse, and many hints of the past. Take a drive, take a bike ride, take a walk, whatever you do get out and explore. And for those of you wondering, YES the island is safe, I've never encountered a problem during numerous visits.

The place is good for spending time with family and friends. The view is beautiful and the occasional view of ships crossing the lake is a treat to eyes. The botanical garden, butterfly garden, fountains and aquarium at one stop are best ways to spend quality time here.
