The park is a work in progress but it’s very nice. People are friendly and welcoming. The park is clean and you can see a bridge that takes you to Canada. Also very nice views of the other side. Wish we could load a video instead

A 29-acre park on Detroit's southwest riverfront, at the foot of West Grand Boulevard and west of the Ambassador Bridge In 2015 the City created a new master plan for the park and began an extensive renovation project of the entire park. The first phase of construction was on the Northeast section of the park on West Jefferson, completed in 2018. This area is about six acres, three of which were added to the park, this includes a new softball diamond, soccer field, picnic shelter, playground, basketball court and toilet facility. The following year the park was expanded again by an additional three acres on to former city-owned dog pound facility and vacant land, turning the site into parkland with the largest dog park in the city and a 20,000-squarefoot skate park. In 2020 the southeast section of the park was completed, with a renovated picnic area, boat launch, parking, horseshoe and table tennis game area as well as new riverwalk. In addition to all these renovations extensive environmental remediation has taken place, to ensure that the park is safe for all future users.

Really nice park on the banks of the Detroit river. Views of the Ambassador Bridge and the Gordie Howe Bridge as well as Canada. Area for kids to play on the playground is nice. Beautiful green grass and all new sidewalks and paths. The area is really improving. I am excited to see what the area looks like after the Riverwalk is completed.

I liked the view of the ambassador bridge from this spot. I’ve received recommendations to visit the spot in the night when the view is even better, but citing safety and security concerns I didn’t dare so. Just go n enjoy the pleasantness there.

Some of the parts of the park need some litter pickup, but it’s a great park with an awesome location. The location makes up for the slight rubble.

If you're expecting a nice park with picnic areas, trees, trails and benches, we'll, it's not. It's even closed due to high pollution levels in the area. I think the city will rebuild it so it may improve in the future.

What a beautiful park. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I was surprised to see a staff person there on Sunday. So helpful in finding the rental space we reserved. Detroit is awesome!

Our first visit to Riverside Park was for the 2022 Tour deTroit bike ride. The recent improvements are amazing compared to old photos I have seen. The skate park and new playground equipment make this area friendly to a widely varying age group. The open spaces allow for large events and gatherings.

I haven't been to this park in a very long time. I dropped by today and was in total amazement. This park has expanded since the times I used to frequent it. Skateboard Park, basketball, and the court look great, areas to skate, walk, or ride your bike. Places to sit, swing, or walk by the water. Folks were out there fishing too!! This park is a great place to be on a warm day. The roads and some of the walking areas are still being renovated, but don't let that stop your visit. It's worth a stop.

Park owners are scammers. They take rental fees and then call 911 every weekend to have the police shut down family reunions, cookouts, etc. They claim the park is "over capacity" but they are the ones renting it out. The police advised everyone to start suing them because this is a weekly occurrence.
