I like going here because of the wide open spaces in the winter. The playground is great for younger children at anytime. Their holiday displays are colorful and enjoyable. There are a variety of unique food choices here to try and relish. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny make this a regular stop. It is a safe and friendly place to go.

I had not been to Westland Mall in probably a decade. The place was a ghost town. Probably half of the stores and kiosks were closed down. It was really sad walking through the joint. It might be time to lower the rent and get some business in there. Five miles up the road in Dearborn, you don't see any vacant businesses the commercial districts are thriving.

I used to love going to shop here. It's a different story these days. There's hardly anywhere to shop in this mall since Macy's left..then Sear, Ulta, and so many more. I basically only go there for Kohls now.

The experience at foot locker was one to write for corporate and maybe a lesson in customer service could be instructed. My mom brought a pair of shoes for my daughter in which she did not like them, however she had disposed of the shoe box. Upon entering the store the young attended greeted me nicely. However once we came to the cash register another worker had a very disdain look when she could see that I didn't have the shoe box. The guy insisted that they could not refund or exchange the shoe secondary to not having the box. I explained what the receipt states and it did not mention a box and he he implied you must have the box.The female attendant stated it was common sense tonhave the box in order to return. I replied again that the receipt does not state that and would like to speak to the manager . The assistant manager even suggested I try to resell the shoes online. I thanked him and again asked for the manager. Upon the manager coming over and already being briefed of the situation he greeted me with huffs and muffs from his mouth and proceeded to pick up the shoes and slam them on the counter angrily stating he will have to zero these shoes out and he could not sell them without a box. I stood their and listened to him grumble as I just wanted my return. He proceeded with the return provided me with my money and tossed the shoes on the back counter. This experience was horrible and unfortunate when consumers spend money and are treated unkindly. I will never return to this store or another foot locker. Some of the staff acted like the shoe return was going to cause them to lose their jobs, Which I pray it didn't.

Truly, a shell of its former self. This mall is a ghost town now. The few stores left (with the exception of JC Penny) are great. JC Penny - terrible. Employees stood and talked at the register while my daughter and I waited … 7 minutes.

Nice low key mall. Not too crowded. You can get in and out and get what you need. Mr corned beef is in that mall too. 🔥 🔥 🔥 corned beef sandwiches. Get there ASAP. The big boy cost 16$$ but its well worth it. Full all day and night off one sandwich🙌. Hands down

This was a wonderful mall in the 70s,80s,90s,+up until mid 2000s(before they closed Macy's.)Many happy memories with family, friends and coworkers here. A graveyard now with a steadily decreasing handful of big name stores that are never busy.Hopefully the owners close it down before it gets any more desolate, depressing+vacant.

I went there yesterday with 2 friends because we were bored and when we got there it felt really off, what usually is supposed to be filled with people, bright lights, and a variety of stores, was barren and empty. It felt like a liminal space. Me and my friends explored a bit. We tried on dresses and got a snack or 2, bought some stuff from the few stores left and it was really fun. If you're looking for dead malls that are still open, this is a place you can go, it looks clean for the most part, the bathrooms are fine, and the remaining stores are popular stores so it's just as good as a regular mall except there's less to do.

It's sad how much this place, along with many other malls, have lost their place in the community. The wings are sparce with both store and shopper. Once the vibrant jewel of the city reduced to a shell of its former glory. That said, it did not feel unsafe, and those who are patrons or proprietors are nice and friendly. G Good mall to do walking exercise.

Such a convenient location to go for some retail shopping. There is a limited selection of retail stores, yet nice because it doesn't get crowded like other malls I've been to. Downside only public restroom for the mall as a whole is located on the lower level furthest from the kids area. Albeit the large retailers such as Kohl's and JCPenney have restrooms in their locations, definitely a hassle to use the restroom on the lower level with a stroller.

Grew up in the area and used to love going to this mall. Sadly it is now a ghost town with limited stores that close early nightly. I don't see this mall staying open much longer which is sad because I had so many great childhood memories there.

Dead mall. Sears, closed. Macy's, closed. JC Penny's, on its last leg. Ultra, gone. Many of the outside restaurants are closed. The only thing keeping this mall open is Kohls. If you want to see homeless sleeping all over then this is the mall for you. I will NOT be going back.

This mall has barley anyone in it these days. That is actually better in my opinion l, if you're just going there for a specific store (I went to Victoria's secret & Shoe carnival). It's less crowded then it used to be (about 10 years ago). The mall is clean and spacious. Overall a great space to "mall walk" or shop at the big name stores they still have. This mall is a lot emptier because they closed down a ton of the other stores in the past few years. Oh... they have a cute little toddler play space that's FREE and safe. Also I love the pretzel place in there, if your just walking around 👌

Service was slow. They claimed they are not allowed to cut a sandwich in half (other location still do it). Both Whoppers were cold. The wife just ate 1/2 of the meat & tossed everything else. My jalapeno bites were cold as well. I won't be visiting the Southfield Burger King on Southfield Rd near 13 MI again.

Place is a ghost town. The owners continue to drive out good businesses by raising rent cost, i.e. Ashley bar and grill. I'd give it one star, but they've managed to keep a few staple department stores as well as Hot Topic and a few jewlers. But overall, the place is really sad to visit.

Not a best place to shop at. It is literally by my house but I rather drive somewhere else. Most of the stores are closed. The stores that are still open are so unorganized, seems nobody works there to clean up or put the stuff in the right place. The only reason I go here is just because of kohl’s and Amazon return that it has.

don't get me wrong, this shopping center (mall) has some good retailer stores inside of it. That's a fact. But I will say that maybe 8-10 years ago, it was a "better place to go" than it is right now. I'm not really sure what happened to it, but a good 25% of the places that used to be inside of this mall had shut down, I'm not sure why. Whenever I go into the mall now it always seems to be a smaller crowd than what I'm used to seeing inside. I definitely feel like it's not what it used to be, but it doesn't mean the store is that are still inside of it aren't worth going to. They're still worth going to but if you were the person that went to this place all the time, expected to be a bit different nowadays. I would definitely pick to go to Great lakes crossing or twelve oaks Mall over Westland. But that's just me. I went to Westland because I was from the area.

I give it 4 stars for nostalgia. This mall is one of the last of the original that's slowly succumbing to being phased out due to online shopping. To my amazement, it was quite empty on a weekday in the late afternoon. They're more vacancies than stores.

  • 1/5 Jameka J. 2 years ago on Google
It was my nephew's birthday and we took him to the little fun center that they have in there and let me just tell you they don't ever clean it and because it's covid it was terrible they really need to clean the equipment that they allow the kids to play on even if it's a big bounce house

  • 3/5 Seth K. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty much the saddest mall in the area. Most stores were not open there are no real options for snacks or food anymore. I think it’s just a sign of the times that people are not shopping at the local mall as much as they used to.

  • 4/5 Rob “Sincere” R. 2 years ago on Google
Decent place just needs a few more stores to be diverse. Other than lack of options in comparison, very nice mall for size and location.

  • 3/5 Lars E. 2 years ago on Google
Ah, how the mighty have fallen. What I assume to once be a beautiful, bustling business center, has turned into a decaying, decrepit, don't-waste-your-time kind of place. This mall is failing, stores are leaving, less people end up going. It's a full cycle. Unfortunately due to Amazon, and freestanding corporate stores, it would seem as time progresses these kinds of traditional malls end up all facing the same kind of fate. Now past my digression point, the mall has some stores most would be interested in, footlocker, journeys, etc. On your way to them, however, you'll be constantly reminded of the giant these kinds of malls once were. Sorta depressing lol.

Nice location. Some brand named stores mostly stores i never heard of. Back in the day this was a great mall to visit. Now lots of empty buildings limited traffic and customers. Wondering what are the owners of this mall thinking about? Maybe the rent is too high.

Just a Ghost Town. How it stays open I don't know. Used to be a great place to shop back in the day. But now I think malls are a thing of the past. I hope not. I like to see what I'm buying beforehand. Don't like buying stuff on line. But I might have to get over that.

Such a fun safe place to shop, especially on snowy days the parking lots always plowed and the inside is always cozy. I wish they would host more tournaments like video games, card games and support car meet ups. If they could get an indoor skate park or airsoft arena that would be pretty cool.

This poor mall needs to be redone into apartments or torn down to be a park. It has a very sad atmosphere inside like someone on life support. About 80% of the mall is closed and everything is spread out. I usually just go for bath and body work and kohls now.

  • 2/5 Beau m. 11 months ago on Google
Man I used to love going to the mall as a kid and as a teenager the mall was our hangout spot. Eastland of course because I'm from the East, Northland, Westland and Great lakes. When I go to the malls now it's just sad because you can tell that malls are just a thing of the past, for the very few left that is. Everytime I go it's like a ghost town, another thing COVID has destroyed. Customer service is at an all time low not just here but everywhere I go. No one wants to work anymore or maybe they just hate their jobs not sure but it's not the customer fault. The line's are long and everyone patience are very short, so I get it. If I can stay at home and order everything I need from Amazon or any other websites I would, just to avoid human interaction. It's sad to see how far we fell as human beings, if you don't like your job Quit and go do whatever it is you enjoy doing. Life's too short to live a miserable

While here, I noticed Subway... I think it would be a great idea to put dining tables on the outside of it along the wall temporarily to encourage customers to dine-in. And although they're the only restaurant down that hallway. It would be a peaceful dining experience someone could enjoy while they wait, walk, work, or just shop. #TravisDokesShop

Not a safe place that a person or family can enjoy because of the attitude of ignorance that flaunts their overadvantages instigating trouble. Really sad that some places does not deserve the respect of customers because of the attitude those flaunt. Also the attitude of arrogance towards online purchases.
