The parking lot. Oh lord the parking lot. In need of a major redo. Terrible condition. Navigating the parking lot isn’t ideal either, it feels cramped and leads to a busy intersection. Lots of pedestrians and potholes so drivers should drive carefully.

This location is dirty and always smells like rotten meat and foul body odour. I always use the location in Lasalle instead.

Parking lot issues. There's always problems with patrons coming and going in this weird parking lot around Shoppers and Good Basics. It attracts the worst drivers too. Definitely not worth going out of your way for.

Dumpy and getting old. The streets nearby, like University Ave., Wyandotte and Sandwich, need major roadwork! These streets are actually causing unnecessary damage to vehicles. Fix it!!

The produce is usually over ripe or bruised. The sales are pretty good though. It is a bargain grocery store and you get what you pay for. Never buy watermelon here,

Incredibly useful and convenient to have food basics and shoppers in the same plaza next to each other. Especially with Dollarama right beside that.

Open an hour later then fresco which is convenient but there is a very grumpy older guy working there at night and he's extremely rude about getting customers out of the store way before they close. There was still 10mins before the store was actually closing and he was literally following people while they tried to finish shopping and trying to make them leave. I think someone might have put him in his place because he started hollering around for security like they even have any in the first place. It was slightly entertaining but definitely wouldn't be if you were the one trying to do some last min shopping.

Easy and convenient for groceries and if you have to get a script filled next door at shoppers.

Clumsy , disorganized , unsealed products , lack of proper exit signs and dark. I would stay away if possible.

Friendly staff but the store could be cleaned a bit better.

They more or less have everything you may need for groceries. Be on the lookout as they have deals on different things every week. And highly recommend students of the university to avail the 10% discount on Tuesdays with your ID card.

The stores in this plaza is great, and I would rate the individual stores highly but this plaza itself, physically, is just horrible. (This review is only concerning the part of the plaza directly in front of food basics, dollarama and shoppers and not in front of Canadian Tire as there’s no problem navigating that one.) Horrible to drive in and I’m sure even worse to walk in. There is no clear throughway that is separate from the parking spaces so driving through here is partly trying to find an open path from one place to another while also driving at a snails pace as to not hit an cars or pedestrians. It’s just a complete mess trying to navigate it way through this plaza, especially when it’s really busy. I avoid going there during the daytime when I can. 🙅‍♀️

I was really only taking a look at the exterior. And I know the parking lot is in good condition. Very well controlled and clean. I was only there briefly. I was Contracting.

I enjoy the ability to shop for my groceries and be able to grab a 6 pack all in the same place! Plus there's a tim Hortons inside! This is my favorite food basics I just hate the gathering of people sometimes right outside the entrance.

The produce section could use some reorganization and fulfillment. Ethnic foods section is good. While the frozen food aisle had very few options

It's a small plaza, but has everything you could need... bank, drug store, groceries, hardware. A lot of parking available too.

  • 3/5 Matt E. 1 year ago on Google
Layout is a little non traditional, takes some getting used to. When I was there aisles were messy, with lots of cardboard and packaging strewn about. Could use some cleaning and organizing.

  • 5/5 Andrew L. 1 year ago on Google
Sadly only one til was open...I dont see the point of only opening self serve and cutting hours..the grocers business used to be about family..strong morals and easy flow...taking jobs away to have self serve isnt good for the long run...Gas is high, people shouldnt have to pay extra on groceries using debit or credit .ontop of inflation... stores is clean on a high note..always organized
