Higher end mall, has a crepe stand, starbucks many higher end stores such as macys. I recommend macys cause they have a mini toysrus section so that made this mall unique!

This is still an outstanding Mall, even though online retailers have taken quite a bit of the business. The inside is wonderful to walk through, even for exercise. Great variety of stores large and small. And some good food courts. Worth going to!

The outside appearance can use some updating. Some areas looks a bit run down outside and very plain looking so I was surprised that the indoor is actually much nicer. Looks like it has been updated, clean, fresh and with a nice seating area with frozen yogurt, coffee, crepe stand. We came here for the M Den which was nice.

The mall has changed significantly. There is however a soul food restaurant that has the best banana pudding in life. I was visiting and went back 3 times buying 15 containers total. It was so delicious. Highly recommend. Can’t remember the name but if you enter the side by the tire shop it’s the second on the left.

I like this mall. Declined a bit over the years but it is still pleasant. I miss sears. I have memories of playing Super Mario 2 on the Nintendo in the toy section there. This was when I was in fifth grade and could not figure out how to go through the doors. Th n my buddy Mike in class told me to press up to go through doors. My life changed then and there. Next trip to sears was the best. Never forget.

Good place to look for many things, shop, do window shopping etc. There are food places, coffee shops etc. Most of the people were masked which was encouraging. Restrooms were clean!

Always good choice of places to eat. Get your phone fixed, and get your fix on your gift cards and jewelry as a gift to return home with, don't forget a chilled dessert, keep the children happy & smiling.

It’s still a good mall to go to. They don’t have a lot of the stores that you normally see in a bigger mall but it’s good to have a mall near by when you need to look for something really quick. They definitely need to fix the parking area. There’s too many holes everywhere. But the inside of the mall is nice and clean and there’s great security. In the winter time you see people taking walks in mall and it’s a good place to shop and walk around when you need a break from the hot and cold days.

The best old school shopping mall in the area. Very well maintained. The stores are mostly open with only one major store space empty. The store mix has changed over the years.

One of the greatest area malls losing the battle to online suppliers and changing times. The mall is always kept clean and they seem to be trying new lease opportunities. Worth Atleast doing the walk around when you’re in the area.

This mall has had so many stores in and out, and empty areas even before covid. Ann Arbor is a great area so in theory it should be doing well. This mall has so much potential but isn't that great in comparison to the Toledo Mall or Great Lakes Crossing. Please up your game Briarwood!

Mall security here is a bunch of cowards. No one should feel safe coming here after the incident that happened on 2/4. I witnessed them panic and act clueless after a woman had her purse stolen. Thankfully good samaritans had more courage than the group of security working this day.

I live in Holland and we no longer have a mall here, so it is nice to be able to go indoors to shop again when I am in Ann Arbor. My favorite store is Macy’s so I was happy to see that this mall had one. Now they just need a Bloomingdale’s .

I love Briarwood mall, it reminds me of how all the malls used to be. You can shop your heart out, then walk over to Starbucks and grab a Carmel Frap while relaxing in a comfy seat.

Briarwood was a mall I frequently visited in the 80s and 90s. Sad to say, now there missing an anchor store and have many spaces for new stores. No different than most malls. Still a safe and nice mall.

I grew up visiting this mall before I moved away. I was in town the other day and decided to swing by with my son to check it out. It has turned into a mall-walkers paradise! They should sell memberships and set it up to accommodate the volume of walkers it draws (build it, they will come). It remains a spotlessly clean venue, however significantly downsized from the days that this mall was bustling with people shopping for clothing, footwear, and holiday gifts. Seems to be the trend for malls across the country. Technology has changed so much of our lives and how we do things. There is no need for the mall when I can click a button, and the item shows up the next day. Except on those days, I feel like getting out to go shopping and grab a bite to eat, that is.

thriving mall with patrons in almost every shop I visited. (pretty unique for a traditional mall in this day and age) popular stores and well maintained property. ample parking and visible security on site

  • 3/5 Cecily T. 1 year ago on Google
Accessing the mall is weird because it does not have any MAIN entrances. The food court only has a few options, like 3. I will say that the selection of stores was decent, just no high end stores (Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, etc.).

  • 3/5 Steven G. 1 year ago on Google
OK. Has lost some of its anchor stores and not been able to replace them with similar stores, and doesn't have some of the stores that some better malls have. It could definitely use better directional signage as well. It is decent for walking, I think about 1.5-2.0 miles give or take. If you want to do that, beware, though. The security team there is on banana republic time, which means they are on a time approximate schedule. So, they may or may not be open for walkers at 8am, which is the mall's supposed opening time for walkers.

I didn't actually go into the mall itself but rather JCPenney that I went into - the store was clean, little remodeling going on no biggie. The fitting room could use a little TLC and if there's men's shoes in this store I couldn't find them 🤔 I didn't interact with any employees except for the cashier and she was very nice and efficient. Overall good experience 🤗 just wish I could of found men's shoes if they even sell them and I didn't feel like asking lol

Great mall that provides free parking for U Of M games with shuttles at hotels near by to the games for$1.50 each way. So many great stores & food choices at the mall. Ample parking with easy in & easy out! Loved it.

I have loved shopping at Briarwood ever since I was a student at U of M in the 70's. I was just there last week. Maybe a few more empty storefronts than I would like to see, and no Sears anymore, but still a terrific place to browse and shop!

Poor direction kiosks caused this handicap man a lot of extra walking. Finally needed a security guards help to find the store. Starbucks was closed in the middle of the day. It could have been more enjoyable.

Sad to see this past jewel without much business. Almost no dine-in restaurants, no Macy's, no Penny's, Starbucks and neighboring snack huts in center Court were closed, this was at 5 pm on a Wednesday. The stores started closing their gates at 7, all were closed at 8-8:15.

One of my favorites to take kids for indoor play. We love the play area. There's a family bathroom near the play area. However, we prefer to go to the one near Macy's, a bit far from the play area, due to cleanliness issues. Some pot holes in the parking area, so be careful!

This is a very large mall, don't get confused on what direction to go!😂 cause we did. I was a bit disappointed to not find all the stores to be available, when I looked online before going there some were just those little pop-up stands and not an actual store. But the place is big, bright, clean and filled with stores to spend your money. It's a mall yall!

Briarwood has changed! I haven't shopped the mall in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of stores open at the mall! And, the variety of eateries. Briarwood is still a nice place to visit, shop, or ride the kiddy train!

Briarwood is a nice, big classic mall. I made a last minute trip to JC Penney. There was plenty of parking and I will return. Its nice, lots of space and open areas to sit. There are charging stations and massage chairs.

I only wish there were more stars to emphasize the feeling of being in an indoor open mall! This was a place I went to get a great suit at Macys for a job interview, where my daughter and I choose identical earrings. Claire store is the ultimate teenage girls dream! It has furry shawls to jewelry, ears piercing, and trying on an assortment of headbands, this business will thrive as the young

Mall lacks people will common sense, the food is pretty good, and not really a good variety of stores. Now on to the store called Lids… horrible customer service, doesn’t pay attention to detail when designing hats, bad custom stitching, and they didn’t seem to care when they put someone else’s name on my hat. I did ask for a refund which they gave to me no problem but I never received one apology from either of the 2 works which was pretty sad considering I’ve been going to lids for about 11 years now

I had to go to T-Mobile to get my $35 screen protector replaced. I was appalled that they were charging so much for a screen protector, since this was the third time I've had to have it replaced, no questions asked, I guess it's more than paid for itself. Excellent customer service T-Mobile. Thank you.

Okay I'm just not a mall girl anymore. It's interesting to me to have seen the fluxes and changes at Briarwood mall for 4 decades now. Sure it's great to go for a shopping spree and to get new things of any nature. A mall is good for that. Currently I think the mall is struggling due to covid and the general state of retail anymore. Though I do know some stores there do phenomenally and are high in their sales gross. That's positive. It's all just so different now. I hope it hangs on strong and all of the emptiness fills again with a robust economy of the future. But we'll see. I personally think a roller skating rink would be freaking fantastic use of the old Sears space which has been unoccupied for at least 4 years I think. Ann Arbor needs a rink gosh darnit. There could be a flat and raised rink in there( for the derby girls) amongst other fun arcade like attractions. If only!!!

  • 3/5 Hector L. 3 years ago on Google
Sadly with covid you can tell that the place is dead. Still very clean but the lack of staff in stores is annoying and the few staff in there hate their life for having to work.
