Absolutely amazing flavors even for picky eaters. The hummus is amazing! Everything was fresh and so flavorful.

I had an amazing first time here. It was filling and the vinaigrette was bomb! My only criticism is that the the chicken had a overpowered charred taste and a little dry. But it was easily covered by the dressing. I will return. The smoothie was amazing. She changed the raspberry for mango for me!

I ordered the wings and a chicken shawarma. Both were pretty good. The fried cauliflower app was my favorite though. The French fries were tasty! Our server was friendly and the service was fast.

Where do these good reviews come from? We must have not gone to the same place. I've been wanted to try this place for a while as it was highly recommended, but their hours are so finicky. The food was so bland and unremarkable I started worrying I had COVID and lost my sense of taste, I didn't. There was minimal seasoning, if any. The bowl wasn't even in a bowl, but a tray. I'm not one to ever throw leftovers away but for Anita's kitchen I made an exception.

Popped in for a healthy lunch while doing wedding-related errands with my fiancé a couple weeks ago. I can’t stop raving to everyone about how fresh and delicious our food was! I really appreciated the fact that the menu notates all possible allergens on each item, which especially comes in handy for me since I have so many. Our server was very attentive was I alerted the hostess after about ten minutes that no one had greeted us yet, and the crushed lentil soup was a bit too sweet for my taste, but overall great experience. The food came out hot and fresh. Get the chicken shawarma dish and thank me later.

The food here is good. It was well seasoned and of good quality. Portion size was decent as well. Service was good as well. I did have a 20 minute waiy and the restaurant does not take reservations.

We got wine on Wednesday night for half the price. We ordered the veggie mezza and had more than enough to bring home! The price was right for the quantity of food we received. We will definitely be coming back!

I have been eating here for years and it is great! The food is so good and the menu allows you to have a bit of everything. Great date night spot, it is very cozy and romantic. They also serve alcohol, which is fun. The patio is nice in the summer and heated and enclosed in the winter. Also the take out ordering website is so easy to use and makes it easy to customize your meal. This is one of my favorite restaurants! I'm going to order a chicken shawarma bowl right now.

Yes, Mediterranean food at its best. Chicken kabobs and salmon were fantastic. Would definitely go back

I loved the guava Mocktail, it was tropical and sweet and especially good with the lime squeezed in! The Mediterranean platter was pretty tasty, the falafel was nice and crisp even baked and I really enjoyed the mujadra. The chicken shish kebabs are also apparently really good too.

This was my first time coming here. Although I don't think the location is all that beautiful on that main Street, I do adore the food and the service we had. I tried a special entree since it was my first time there and I was very satisfied. If your dish does not come with hummus, you should order some because it is some of the best hummus I've ever eaten. Very fair prices at this restaurant for the quality and quantity of food you receive. We will be back very soon.

Appreciate the actions to minimize COVID. However, food did not taste like the same after reopening. Really underwhelming. Chicken schwarma was bland. Hopefully it gets better.

My favorite middle eastern restaurant in Detroit! It’s very fresh, clean, and well made. I’ve tried numerous things and haven’t been disappointed. My most recent visit, I tried the super falafel sandwich which was very good, but the loaded fries were amazing. Easily my new go-to option when working downtown. I’ll be getting these again next week!

Don’t say curb side pick up will be ready at 6, and then I have to get out, and wait in line for over an hour for my food to be ready. Get realistic with your pick up times if you’re that busy.

Absolutely in love with this place. The space was gorgeous, the food was unforgettable, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Tons of gluten free options. Thanks for a wonderful night!

I would love to pay 16$ for this, but it should be no problems if you guys fill my plate at least, it was my first time customer I just got my order number 106, I go somewhere else and pay the same and get more mujadarah The second picture its for 15$ from falafel king 5 miles away and I get so delicious food and for the same price. And plenty of it

Fantastic spot for. Bit of upscale Mediterranean. Had the chicken shwarma which was very good, but the loaded fries were the winner. These are not to be missed! Cocktails were also excellent 👌

Everything was great! Not many gluten free options but I just asked to add the lump crab for my meal off my boyfriends and they allowed it and I got sides that I wanted to add. The crab was great. It was basically just already shelled for you! Service was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. Overall a great experience.

Anita’s Kitchen was a lunchtime stop, and I’m incredibly glad and full of food, and the world is wonderful, amen. I went with the Chicken Feta Fatoosh salad, which is a Fatoosh salad topped with chicken shawarma, and this thing was huge. A two person meal for sure. To be honest, I should have gone with the grilled chicken Fatoosh salad, because the chicken shawarma flavoring didn’t marry with the Fatoosh salad as well as I wanted it to, and I know this is a controversial sentence I will probably be skewered for, but this is my truth. I wanted the tang of Fatoosh, and instead I got the warm cinnamon of shawarma. Good separately. Together just okay. The baba ganoush, however? Epic. I tried my friends beef shawarma bowl? Epic. Lemon lentil soup? Delish. The menu is mouth watering and I can’t wait to make my way through it.

Came here as a sort of last minute dinner with a large party. Every single worker we spoke with was extremely friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing and server was excellent. Would one thousand percent recommend coming here for any occasion!

Everything is amazing except for the bread served with the appetizers. The bread tastes like thin store bought pita bread unfortunately. Anita’s should really bake their own bread in house. Besides for that, I love the atmosphere and everything else was delicious.

It's okay. Parking is horrible, unless you're able to snag a spot in front. But that's not under their control. I think Anita's kitchen stands alone by its name and the fact it's a Mediterranean restaurant in a very busy city. Like when someone mentions Anita's Kitchen, you know it and think, "Yes, let's go there." Then you go and think next time we should go somewhere else. But if you do go, try these: Hummous with vegetables, Black Bean Soup, Chicken Fattoush salad with extra dressing and the Lemon Tart for dessert.

Food was awesome. We have been meaning to try them for awhile. My parents are in town from small town Montana and wanted to try Lebanese food. We also have a gluten issue. Anitas kitchen was the answer. Good service, amazing food. We are adding them to our list of places to return.

One of my top places for quality Middle Eastern food. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. The bill was fair. Reminds me of a place in New York I liked to visit.

I’m Vegan Gluten Free and got the Mediterranean bowl and cauliflower - it was so fresh and flavorful - pickup was quick, safe, and easy. Definitely going to be a go-to place from now on.

Anita's Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants. With that said I ordered take out yesterday, a couple chicken shawarma sandwiches, crushed lentil soup, and humus. None of the food items tasted like they used to, seasoning was not the same. I was really disappointed. I hope you keep your old recipes and chefs!

I have been in the restaurant many times and ordered take out this time. Food is phenomenal! Chopped salad is legit and large is easily enough for two, but I handled it on my own. Full and happy. Always great service dining in and easy process for takeout to order online and pick up right in front of the restaurant.

The food is always the best. I won’t go anywhere else for Mediterranean. But it seems like every time I come in I am left waiting way too long. Then they forget to put some thing in my carry-out. There are so many people working why can’t they get the order right.

  • 5/5 David G. 3 years ago on Google
Anita's is an old favorite and the food and service is still great even during the pandemic. Some things have changed in the menu (they no longer offer the pizzas and some beef entrees) so check their updated menu first. Easy carry-out from the main entrance or they will bring to your car in front or rear. I regularly get their falafel or chicken shawarma with crushed lentil soup. Never disappoints!

While the chicken and hummus were good, I was really disappointed with the rice. It was plain white rice, not the Lebanese rice with almond slivers.
