This was my first time coming here and the food was delicious! I had the vanilla bean waffle topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and peanut butter on the side along with potatoes. The only problem was the service was really slow and it was hard to flag down our waiter. I pointed out to my friend that the table behind her and I had 3 different groups come and go under the same waiter as us. I'm not sure if our waiter had too many tables and forgot about us? But we only saw him a couple of times and that's when he brought our drinks and food. We waited a half an hour for the bill and the hostess ended up cashing us out. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours. Also another thing to note was that the menus given to us were dirty, almost like we used it after someone else. My friend's plate was dirty too. It had grease marks on the side.

Very cozy brunch place. Great omelets and coffee. Really enjoyed steak and eggs. Parking is free on Sundays in Royal Oak. Service was very fast and welcoming.

I ate the ammoglio scramble. It was ok. BE CAREFUL of the mandatory 20% gratuity. I was going to tip before I quickly glanced at the bill. The owner of this place should remove that. Or maybe not planning on being in business for long haul. I've been to many restaurants some hole in the walls, others Michelin star. This is the first time I see something like this on a bill.

Very cute, small cafe with limited choices, but they were vegan, which was a blessing and tasted really good. Prices were a little high, but that comes with the territory of good vehan food. Waitress was extremely pleasant. Cafe gave off good vibes... we will be back

Absolutely delicious. Alyssa took amazing care of us. The mushroom soup is really good. I really appreciated the setting and vibe.

A terrific place for breakfast or lunch! The dishes are creative and consistent. The atmosphere is pleasant and design well done. Sometimes they are "swamped" and you must either be patient or willing to come back at a less busy time, but absolutely worth it. The Mac and cheese with beef tips is a crowd ringer, as is the Mascarpone/pear French toast. I will have to stop back for lunch and a cocktail since the bar looks well stocked. Overall, delightful!

We went here this past Sunday 4/30/23 for a late brunch. The place wasn’t too busy, with half the tables closed down so the wait wasn’t very long at all, just long enough to pick up a new read at Paper Trail Books next door (great bookshop.. check them out!). The food was simple but well done. A little pricey for what you’re getting, but it’s the location so I’m fine with that. The only drawback was service. Our server was simply checked out. She didn’t check with us once after delivering food and then the bill. Since the QR payment option on the check wouldn’t work I tried multiple times to get her attention three separate times. The woman would not look at this end of the room… three times. After about 15 minutes of trying we asked another server who was hustling to cash us out. I felt bad that someone else had to do her work for her. Now I will start off saying that I always tip at least 20%. Perhaps the automatic 20% fee added to the bill here has put at least one server on autopilot.

went here with a friend for brunch on a wednesday ! it was virtually empty in there so service was speedy. our waitress was very nice & our food was yummy. my friend got tomato bisque with grilled cheese & i got the mushroom egg white omelet dish. i also got a bloody mary, which i didn’t taste and alcohol nor did it give me any sort of buzz whatsoever… but it was 11am on a weekday so i really had no business being tipsy anyways lol

Not very good experience. There was one waitress, at lunch time, when normally there is a wait for a table. The one waitress was doing it all. The coffee was cold. The food orders were poor quality and not what was described in the menu. The Mac and cheese was definitely out of the box. Just truly bad. Is this place under new management? I've been coming here for years, it has never had food as horrible as this

Very disappointed in this place. Not only did we not get our drinks before our food, I ended up paying way too much for the meal. It was my first time here, and the waitress did not mention that they automatically add a 20% tip to the bill. I added another tip on top of that not realizing it. When I called the restaurant upon discovering this, they told me they would not credit my extra tip back to me. When I complained that the waitress did not mention that the tip was already on the bill, they said it is at the top of the menu and posted on the window. I was there treating my friend to a birthday lunch, and we were talking, so I never looked at the top of the menu. I will never return. 😑

Pretty little spot on the strip. Vegan options! Tried the delicious tofu scramble with soy chorizo & pico alongside herbed potatoes, which they offered to grill with oil instead of butter. Loved that! Our waitress was friendly and kept the coffee coming. We will be back, specifically, to try the vegan burger next.

Good, not great. Very difficult to get a cup of coffee, let alone a refill, making it a questionable breakfast spot. The waffles were excellent, but the scrambled eggs seemed highly processed. Meh.

We need more places like Muse, an urban oasis where you can sit quietly and forget your troubles. The omelettes are amazing and the potatoes are done just right. Avoid the steak and eggs, the steak is very tough. The service is professional and unobtrusive. Time to go back to evening hours Cafe Muse!

Food was alright. I got the steak and eggs and Mac with short rib. The steak that I received with the egg was so SAD exp. Compared to the photos on their google photos… Mac and short rib, should have known better but the short rib was pre shredded on top of the Mac and cheese. Mac was also watery. Everything tasted alright. Nothing special

I am a waitress at prior restaurants, so I give ALOT of leeway when it comes to serving because lots of times things are going on the customer doesn’t know about. With that being said I have NEVER had worse service in my life. Not only did it take 15 minutes to get seen when we sat down, it took 45 minutes to CASH OUT!!! We got charged the wrong bill, and waited another 10 minutes for it to be resolved!! The restaurant also puts in a 20% service charge! FOR WHAT? Horrible service. I will NOT be coming back and I would never recommend this place. I watched 2 separate couples walk out after 20 minutes of not being waited on.

An amazing place to go for breakfast or lunch! The atmosphere was so pleasant and welcoming. The Mac and cheese with beef tips was our favorite, and we heard the Mascarpone/pear French toast is a favorite. We will definitely have to come back here to try the french toast.

I came here once in 2020 and the food and coffee was amazing! Since then, I have tried returning 3 separate occasions only to find the service is SO BAD. The staff will stand there talking for 10 minutes instead of greeting or seating you. This last time my partner and I left after 20 min went by without so much as a water. You might think, “oh wow they’re busy!”. They are not, there are always several tables open, and this is why. This place will not survive with the current staff in place, and it’s not even a shortage. They just simply don’t enjoy their job and it shows.

Amazing place!! Absolutely loved our Brunch. The place is small but food is great! I ordered mushrooms scrambled with rye and coffee. The scramble was fluffy and creamy. My friends dishes were also very delicious. The garlic potato's were little uncooked but very good in flavor. My friends French toast, waffles and special cramble with salmon was also very good. They also have mimosa. Highly recommend this place. Must visit.

Food was good! Table service was terrible and the restaurant was not full or especially busy for a Sunday late morning. Server arrived late to the table; served our drinks late; and we had to ask her if we could order food. We then had to ask for a refill on drinks, which she never did despite passing by our table many times and hanging out in the back of the restaurant doing nothing. And then, the kicker, she sweetly told us a 20 percent tip had already been added to the bill.

  • 2/5 Newaz R. 1 year ago on Google
Service is slow which sucks. They add a 20% automatic tip, which would have been okay if the food was great, but it also sucked. Ordered hanger steak and eggs. Came with toast. Ordered steak as medium rare - it was almost leather level of chewy. Eggs tasted like those served at a 3 star hotel. Save yourself the disappointment and just go to Toast instead.

  • 2/5 Kim P. 1 year ago on Google
This is my first review on this cafe (Troy location) - I have given them many chances. Today the taco salad bowl was just awful. Actually Taco Bell has a better bowl. Not much of anything on the salad. Maybe a teaspoon of cheese, not much meat and not enough dressing. The lettuce used is the leafy type lettuce..all for $8.00 - I wouldn't call this a mexican dish at all.

  • 1/5 Katie C. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely awful experience. Overcooked leather for “steak and eggs.” Eggs tasted like the watery ones from a 3-star hotel. Potatoes were over salted. $17 also for a chunk of salty smoked salmon on top of liquid eggs. And at the end of that a 20% automatic tip for 2 people. Never coming back. Will not recommend to any friends.

I used to enjoy coming to this place almost ten years ago. I came here about four months ago for the last time. The food was sub par and the service was awful. The bill had a mandatory 20% gratuity added. There were no specials on the menu and all of the same dishes were present on the menu from 10 years ago. This restaurant could use updates to the menu and as well as updates to the wait staff. I really don't care that the restaurant looks the same, a little tired, but come on, put in some work for the food you serve!

I spent 43.00 for a mediocre breakfast entree. They were out of a few of the food choices we asked for, i.e... no smoked salmon, no grits. Our toast was burnt. Let's not even talk about the mandatory 20% tip included in your total. I consider myself a good tipper, but our waitress was not attentive enough for a 20% tip!

Delightful! The grilled cheese was incredible. Also loved the soup. I was creeping on the tables next to me and honestly everything looked so, so tempting. Great brunch menu. Lots of space between tables. Comfortable and happy inside. Great service. Lots of parking nearby.

Went in for brunch and i was pleasantly surprised I ordered the steak and eggs with a side of potatoes, i also got a side of their seafood cheese grits. I have to say everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly, probably some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve eaten while dining out. The grits were good a little to thick for my liking but good flavor overall. I will definitely be coming back to this place in the future.

Just walked out of this establishment after spending about a half hour and receiving a table and water as compensation for my time. I’ve eaten here many times including about a month ago at the bar. The service has always been the achilles heel of this establishment and I think that flaw has finally forced me to throw in the towel. This place is understaffed or people simply don’t care enough. Lunch time on a Sunday should be peak performance hours for a breakfast and brunch location. The host was behind the bar pouring waters, seating folks, and clearing tables. How? Godspeed.

Cute place! The food was alright! I only ordered breakfast! The eggs were way over cooked and I asked for over easy so they redid them and they were even more over cooked to where I couldn't even cut into them! The pancakes were very chewy and almost hard to cut also so I was quite disappointed given I heard a lot of good things about this place! Great coffee and cappuccinos!

Food is delicious. Service was not so great. Our waitress kept saying she had 11 tables but that does not excuse the fact that she left us hanging for about 30-45 mins. We hadn't even ordered and were ready to do so but she never came. After asking for our waitress a third time, the young lady behind the bar took the initiative to take our order. When we asked for the manager, he simply told us that they were short staffed which I get but, I wasn't looking for an excuse. Its like he wasn't even listening. He "apologized" but didn't seem to care otherwise. If I ever return, it will be takeout only because the food really was great but I won't be dining in.

Terrible service and it's because of the manager running the hostess stand. They were really busy I give them that, however, when I tried to put my name on the list to get a seat, I was told to wait outside. Eventually there was a line of people outside waiting. We waited outside for 20 mins and no one came out. As we were all waiting, another couple went inside and they were put on the list immediately. I went in to try to talk to the manager he succeeded to by pass everyone by not acknowledging us in the establishment. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen!!. It's simple, take names and tell them it's going to be an hour just like everywhere else. Never will come here again

I loved this brunch spot! The food is very well prepared and delicious. Everything looks yummy on the menu.My cousin and I ordered the salmon with eggs and mushroom scrambled eggs ., so good ! We came here for brunch. The food was just okay. The service is the reason for the 3 star rating. We were sat down and forgotten about. You might think we were off in a corner but we were in plain view. The water brought our drinks then we had to wave him over just to order after sitting a good 20 minutes. We then got our food and I think he had forgotten about the Mac and cheese we ordered. He said it would be right out but it wasn't until we finally waved him over again to just bring out Bill. He then said it was ready and packed it up to go. Now he was very apologetic but sometimes you can only say it so many times before it really doesn't matter anymore. I do not think we would return. I dont know if it was just our server or a lack of staff that day.
