I've been going to this place before the current owners took over. I never had an issue and loved the food and service. Last year I had ordered and there was a hair in my food. I called just to let them what happened to know to be careful next time and with other patrons. The girl on the phone said oh okay. No apology, which is all I was looking for. I did not want a refund just acknowledgement and that they would take more precautions. 2 weeks later I went to order again bc I wanted to give it a second chance thinking it was a fluke. This time my sister and I both got a hair in each of our orders. I called and told them it happened again (seems like they disregarded my concern the first time and didnt think to wear hair nets). I was met again with no remorse, concern, or regard for customer complaints. I never asked for a refund just looking out for their customers. I haven't been back ever since.

Is Red Star in business anymore? We have tried multiple times (5 times) in the last three months during their open hours to get red star and no one answers the phone. Recently went to the restaurant and the open sign was on but the door was locked? Just want an answer

It takes 30 seconds to update your Google listings for holiday hours so that your potential new customers donโ€™t drive all the way there to find out that youโ€™re closed

My honest review. Service 5/5! Loved the young ladies working here they answered all my questions and were quick to help. Love the full halal menu options as well. Atmosphere was very comfortable the only thing is they donโ€™t have dining in yet. The food came out fresh and well done. I will be coming back again!!

I was recommended this place from a friend. We are both vegan. I came into red star to order in as I couldnโ€™t find a menu online. They were nice enough to greet me and answer any questions I had. The young lady at the counter recommended I try the vegan sesame chicken with vegetable fried rice. I ordered a lunch portion which is good that itโ€™s available all day everyday because itโ€™s a pretty big portion. The food took about 25 minutes to make but thatโ€™s understandable considering they are the only vegan Chinese place around. The food was delicious. Almost tasted like real chicken! I will definitely be trying their other vegan options. Service was great. Definitely adding this restaurant to my list of favorites. Thank you red star!

This place was terrible i don't know why eater detroit said to come here. There mapo tofu was a nasty gravy sauce with no heat or flavor. The beef and broccoli was not edible the beef was way to tough and the sauce they had was way to watery.

I LOOOOOOOOVE THIS PLACE!!! RED STAR WINS EVERYTHING! See all the food I got for a whole $20. AND ITS ALL VEGAN!!! If they were in Chicago Iโ€™d be fat af. Service was absolutely stellar and Ling Ling even let us bring in some Lambrusco from the liquor store across the street. Come thru Ling Ling!!! Red Star got me over here shouting and speaking in tongues...

I got general tso's chicken. The chicken is soggy and the sauce is just flat out bad and the rice is way over cooked. They don't serve eggrolls and a small hot n sour costs 6 dollars. The pop is warm, I didn't get a fortune cookie and in case it matters to you, the people that run the place aren't chinese... This was easily the worst chinese food ive had in awhile.

Went there with my family. Good service and good portions of food. Got the General Tso's chicken, Mongolian beef, and the Chicken lo mein. The Mongolian was a little spicy, even after asking for no spice. All 3 dishes were huge. Great taste. There was no other people there, even on a friday night. Fast service. No kids menu or kid food like french fries.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal at Red Star. Only complaint is that I can't come back tomorrow and the next day and the next day. Lots of variety on the menu. DONT JUST DOOR DASH THIS PLACE. The service is fast and fantastic. It's a great place for families to get a great inexpensive meal together.

No option for no stars...... Ordered here , had the fried rice which had no flavor with a few specs of eggs. The meat (supposedly vegan)was soft even though it should be crunchy. Also had a funny texture inside, no veggies, green onions nothing ! The sauce was weird too. Definitely is not worth a repeat visit for me.

Great service and food. Only disappointment was we sat down for dinner at 6:45 on a Saturday evening, and when ordering we were told they were out of egg rolls and crabrangoons. I would have loved to try both of these items, however everything else was very good.

It didn't look like or taste like original Chinese food. Should've known once I walked in the door, though. Seems like they spent more money into the appearance of the restaurant, than the actual recipes. I've never had a Chinese meal that had not one vegetable, inside very surprising. The rice tasted like it was sitting awhile, added soy sauce and eggs. The chicken had no flavor, just seemed like it was drenched in sauce, which was literally boiling hot when I received it. On top of that I asked for a refund in which the young lady told me they don't do refunds at all. (So you've been warned.) Didn't ask what the issue was or to even exchange, offer or even recommend something different. IVE microwave meals that that tasted wayyyy better.

Got the chicken lo mein. Barely any chicken in it, the sauce was "a sauce" at best (Not to mention how much had spilled out of the container into the carryout bag) and to top it all off, my stomach has been messed up since I ate it. 2/10. Edible but not worth the stomach ache nor lackluster quality of ingredients

Tried the Vegan General Tso today and it was ridiculously good. Very excited to go back and try the other vegan options. The lady behind the counter was also really very nice.

Red Star is a great place to get carry out. We are vegan and vegetarian and Red Star has great options for us, including vegan chicken and beef. They always get our orders correct. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would : )

Was not impressed. The plate was plain, served w no vegetables, egg roll or cookie and the rice seemed more Mexican than Chinese. Also was way over priced. (Almost $18)Do yourself a favor and go a few blocks down the street to Kong Kow and get authentic Chinese cooking served w all the extras for literally half the price.($9)

They have amazing vegan food. I recommend the Hunan shrimp, the mixed veggies soup and steamed rice. Enjoy!

Very good. The young lady was nice enough to recommend me different foods to try. I liked it and Iโ€™m very picky. They didnโ€™t dine in services available but thatโ€™s ok.

My husband and I ordered sesame chicken and lomein. The restaurant looked clean and relaxing. Good customer service from the young ladies. I was sad to learn that the dining room is closed though.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ This was a very cool and unique restaurant. I loved the atmosphere, and all the older Ford cars and decor that surrounded the place. They had indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of craft beer (got my flight sampler) and the food menu was amazing with a lot of options too! I'd definitely recommend...
