I have been a member at hype since 2018 and the biggest reason I go here is for the women's only gym. I am glad to see that over the years they have made great upgrades to the gym however I wish the lockerroom space was bigger and there are showers, it'd be so great and convenient to be able to come to the gym shower then go to work. But I can't do that. It feels odd that they don't have showers when literally every gym does. They should seriously consider upgrading the locker room area.

The gym is closed four days for the diversity festival. I don’t understand how this works. That’s four days we don’t get to workout yet we’re still paying our membership dues. I don’t want to drive to the Wayne location. I want to use the women’s gym.

Great place for families & kids of all ages! Many programs to accommodate kids and guests of all age. My kids are in the Soccer and basketball programs as well as the summer camps and absolutely love spending time at Hype! They wouldn’t let us in even with a membership and the employee was very passive aggressive and rude. Also I’ve seen many workers let in friends of theirs without memberships. Lastly they’ve never cleaned their courts or gyms, I constantly slip over the dust on the courts. I almost forgot to include the fact that they have guest passes on their website and when we asked to use a guest pass they said they don’t do them! Both the member and guest were above the age of 18 and we were still refused.a guest pass. Also when we purchased the membership we were never told that there would be an age limit to the guest pass, and many employees have told us that don’t do guest passes even though we were told the membership comes with guest passes.

I was at Hype (mainly for their gyms) for about 5 years. After the shutdown, I had ventured out and tried another and I recently came back to Hype. I noticed they made a lot of very nice changes to both the co-ed gym and the women's gym upstairs. They rearranged and added more equipment which is a huge plus. I appreciate having the option to work out in the women's section or in the main gym. The staff is great, welcoming, and listen to feedback. I def. recommend checking their website and seeing what they offer there.

I've been with hype since it was a basketball league at the civic center and it has grown into a wonderful community. I love that they offer a women's gym that caters to women of all fitness levels. Usually all women gyms have only cardio machines and a few light weights, but Hype listens to what their members want and delivers. They just renovated and during construction a staff member, and the personal trainers, were asking the regulars what they would like in the expansion. The only down side is that almost no one re-racks their weights! Staff members have been good about organizing the workout areas throughout the day, but what is so hard about re-racking your own weights?! Both pictures are in the women's side (taken when it was empty because there is a no picture/video taking policy in the women's section for privacy reasons.)

I’ve been coming to Hype’s women's gym for a year now. It’s bigger than I expected, it’s always clean, I love that any machine I’ve wanted to use was available, the staff is super nice and the rules are very fair, Overall I’ve never had a bad experience here once.

I absolutely love this place, I spoke with a young lady named Maha C last week and she was very polite, informative and a absolute sweetheart. It was definitely a pleasure speaking with her and I look forward to getting a membership and being apart of the Hype family

i have no idea what kind of gym this is but i would never recommend it to anyone this gym is a SCAM i cancelled my membership and i paid the cancellation fee and they still charged me for 2 months for membership when i called they told me go talk to your bank and dispute the charge the front desk lady is extremely rude and does not know how to speak to people they are so mean. save your money and go somewhere else . Disgusting...

Extremely rude staff, especially the lady at the front desk. She claimed that I was faking my id even though i had clarified my date of birth. The few times that I was let in, they had dirty locker rooms and the machines were not clean in the women only section.

You know you're at a great facility when the owner works out with the patrons and makes sure everyone's masked up. Always a good day in the free weights/machine room! Update: If you want to use the courts and you're complaining how they're always taken, then wake up early ya bums, I balled for 2 hours this morning by myself. Not one person was in there so hush that bs, thanks in advance 😘

Jackie is a literal gem. Her form is incredible and she was super helpful when I was first starting off. Her concern is not just for our health but our safety and longevity, I appreciate that so much.

I got a call about not having paid an annual fee. I called the number back and I was on hold for a long time. I went to the gym and they said my insurance had already paid the fee. 9 months later and I am still getting the spam calls from the Hype Athletics auto message. I only went to that gym twice! Not worth it because of the spam calls, lack of communication, and voice mails.

Doc has one if the best aau teams and coaches around. This man takes care and loves the girls on his team so much. He is not about the money he goes over and beyond for the youth in this organization. The man is so beyond underrated for the care and compassion he has for kids.

Excellent facility: Look forward to see completion of new facility upgrades. Warm Family Atmosphere, Polite and caring staff, I have seen this center grow from its inception and it is a great benefit to our community. So nice to see the community grow and improve. Keep up the Great Job….

The customer service was amazing today! Ali, the manager, stopped what he was doing to help my son find an item that was lost. Thank goodness he found it, but many establishments would have told him to take the L and the manager would have kept doing whatever else he was doing. My son and I want to say “Thank you Ali, and thank you Hype for having excellent customer care and putting members first!”

Very bad experience. The worst i have ever had. People over there are rude and weird, there was a fight in the gym and I called over the and they didn’t do anything. I never recommend this gym to anyone under any circumstances.

I only go there because it is the bearest to my house the front desk people are extremely rude thinking we are sneaking in not polite at all , this is not acceptable , many times female section no soap , no showers 😞😞😞 Oh would you please as long as you have ladies only section ,put Shattafeh in ladies restrooms . It only cost 15 $ and my teenager son can assemble it , So it is easy to assemble and affordable . Thank you

They don’t take concerns about racism seriously, instead they gaslight and invalidate their black members rather than taking accountability and apologizing. They’re overpriced and unprofessional, go to another gym. If you’re looking for a professional women’s only gym try powerhouse or athletica. don’t give this place your money, they won’t respect you

The way that when I called the front desk to ask when my annual membership would end because I didn't want to continue paying the monthly fee. I was told it would it would end in February, and then the payments continued through April. When I called in, they told me I had to come in person to cancel my membership. When I asked the billing department for a refund for the months of March and April, he said there was nothing he can do for me even though I wasn’t given the full information when I inquired about it. Then he said you should’ve remembered that you had to come in person to cancel the membership when I MADE THE MEMBERSHIP OVER A YEAR AGO! how is it that I lost $120 because someone was too incompetent to provide me with the complete information?!

I came to hype a while ago and unfortunately stopped going which left me with a balance, I was embarrassed to go after that tried many other gyms and found myself coming back to hype there hours, there supplies, the clean gym everything is just a package deal there. I came in and talked to Leon (sorry if I misspelled) he helped me out and was so kind and gained my confidence by a lot I wasn’t embarrassed to come and actually face the issue I had which was my over due balance he was so nice, kind and was a huge help this is simply a review to who ever wants to try this gym out or the other activities they have I highly recommend it me and my family come to this gym and so far no gym has gotten the chance to replace it & I don’t think they would be a great gym like this. Hello I really like this gym and the courts but I got a question am I able to use the soccer field without being on the team or be with someone else not on the team or would I have to join the soccer team

I’ve been going to this recreation center since they opened up 2011 for a mom to mom sale…I grew up here.All I can say is every year there’s more&more improvement.I love this place, nothing but great people and great energy here.💯

I'm not sure how long I've been going to this gym. Excellent programs and classes. My daughter enjoys it. It's also close to our house. The staff is friendly, with special mention going to Brian and Leon, who are both friendly and professional. I only wish they could open at 4 or 5 a.m., which would be very convenient for working people.

Ive a member of this gym for 7 years now. The ladies side is always expanding and offers everything you need whether is a light workout or more advanced. It’s very clean and their hours stay late which makes it convenient for my schedule. I’d definitely recommend it!! The front desk workers are really friendly and helpful!

Horrible customer service. I call to ask a question about water aerobic. I was left on the line for 7 minutes, when they finally picked up the phone, they hung up on me. They were seemingly having a conversation with other staff members. I'm so disappointed with this establishment. I will never consider again.

I love this gym there is tons of programs it used to do the boxing and soccer but I stopped and now just go down to the gym and I go with my friends downstairs to the basketball court and we play for a while and I also workout at the gym and people there are mostly nice I like the industrial design of the gym and the basketball court most gyms don’t have programs and basketball courts and I’m able to walk to there and always stay there for a while.

Hype athletics is great for the family . My family and I have been members from day one. The fitness classes are my favorite but there are plenty of exercise equipment at hype, the equipment is state of the art. Very clean facility and excellent client services. The City of Dearborn heights is lucky to have hype athletics. Thanks to all the employees for the five star services!
