We enjoyed the wood structure. It made it a little different from all the rest. It has like 3 slides, a tire to get on, and some swings. There is a splash pad there as well.

Was there yesterday 8.31.23. Trash was literally EVERYWHERE. Swings and other equipment were broken. Weeds were growing high all over the playground itself. I was not happy with what our kids have to play on. Who takes care of this and how often? This in unacceptable considering the city gives out tickets for lawns looking much less worse than this playground!

Splash pad is awesome. And the kids loved the big wooden playground. And it's free

Van houten park is an awesome park. We love going there. There's so much to do there. The boys love the hockey rink, basketball court, the splash pad and the play structure. Our church has an inner city kid's program that also frequently uses the awesome splash pad and play structure. There's also a baseball diamond. My family loves this place so much that we even rented the pavilion and had our wedding reception here.

Great Park my nephew loved it but the city needs to bug proof the area. There are Hornets flying and living in the wood. A kid got stung while we were here...

This is a great park. It's old and missing some things. A few chains are broken. But you can't find wooden playscapes like this anymore.

This used to be my favorite park as a kid, but it looks like no one has touched it since. So sad!

First of all, filthy. Needs to be updated and upgraded badly. Grass needs to be cut. Visitors need to make their children clean up their trash. It's a very cool structure it's a shame that it's in such poor condition.

Splash pad, picnic area, play area, restrooms available. Not a bad place to let the kiddos run around. Not much to do for teenagers.

Cool little park…I grew up going to it since I was in high school now I take my kids…crazy how life goes it’s like a little time capsule in the middle of Dearborn HTS…I like the splash pad but the rest of the park needs improvement not much has been rehabbed or improved since…neat child friendly events happen here through out the summer I like to bring the kids…

Weeds and trash everywhere, no wood chips so your feet will be black after stepping into the playground. Very poorly maintained

I'm really sorry to give a low rating for this park but come on City of Dearborn Heights. Is this the best you can do? The track is great, and I'm Impressed with the hockey rink, basketball court, and baseball field but the park (and weird splash pad) are TEAR DOWNS. This very large area has potential to be great especially with the location right by the library and city hall. Please do something with this nice area of land. It would be an incredible investment for the city and the community. It's a shame to see such wasted potential.

One of the coolest park structures, with lots of potential to be great! --Unfortunately, not very clean. Litter everywhere, which was a constant struggle to keep my one year old away from. My four year old had a fun time, but a lot of the equipment was more geared toward maybe a 6+ year old. Baby swing was broken. Overgrown weeds everywhere. Splash park was closed on a 90 degree day.. Kinda disappointed myself, but my kids both had a fun time. Not sure I would go back.

Once we pull up my daughter's eyes light up! I love the park also. It is so family-orientated everybody comes together as one. You always see familiar faces with just nice to know. Everyone looks after all kids to make sure that they're safe. Maintenance very clean. On the other hand, I was dissatisfied seeing that people parking in the handicap spaces without proper plating was distasteful , and the walk area to enter the park. If you have a child that is handicap or yourself such as myself , I think is very dissatisfying to see people take those spaces. I wish people will be considerate that people do need those spaces because they're unable to go places , and for the states to try and help make it convenient for us and to be taken away from inconsiderate people. If it wasn't for that I would definitely say this perk is a dream place for children and adults! Overall I still give the park or 5 because my daughter loves this park!
