I ordered the Bean burger, oh no lol! All it is…..mushy beans with wholes beans mixed with it, nice flavor but as soon as I lifted my burger, 1/2 of it fell out. Doesn’t hold at all, seems like all they did was mix the product together & slapped it on sliced bread. In addition to that, their selling their burger’s for $9 & their using regular slice bread instead of a bun & gave me one slice of butt bread. This sloppy mess is definitely over priced & is worse to hold together then a sloppy joe. Top it off, the lady who cashed me out, tried to rip me off $2. I caught it of course, she was friendly & it was a nice environment, however as far as eating here goes…..Definitely not!

I'm not sure why there aren't more reviews on here discussing what a creep Dr. Bob is. Makes me think if the proper terms are mentioned the review is taken down. I know of MANY many women who have experienced inappropriate touching at the hands of Dr. Bob, including myself, during "chiropractic work." This man is hiding behind his ego delusions.

This man Dr Bob recorded on facebook the deceased body of Max Julian. He made jokes about the young man saying he was out cold and probably not coming back. He laughed about it. Despite knowing the young man for years. Despite claiming to love this man. He laughed at his death. He is not even being inveatigated in the mysterious death of Max. We need to demand justice for max!!!

Never been and never will. "Dr. Bob" recorded a dead man at the Shack. I quote "Looks like a cold one. Hes not coming back. Weve got music tonight!!". Wouldnt support a business with someone so casual about a dead man at his place of business.

I would caution people not to go here. I stopped by a few weeks ago on a whim because I heard they have a vegan cafe and crystals and the outside looks cool. There wasn’t much to look at inside and there seemed to be some sketchy stuff going on inside during the day. I was getting very strange vibes from the staff and I feel like this place is a coverup for some dark things. I had no idea about the death video controversy or anything before going here but looking at some of the negative reviews after going, I can see them being true. Please also look up things about this place on Reddit - they are not good.

Bob has been dedicated to creating a safe space for healing+shelter for many people including Max. There have been allegations made against him and his shack; purely reactionary and blatant libel. Someone had OD’d at the shack and was declared dead. The healing shack did not and has never distributed anything to anyone. But because people are upset over Max’s death, there have been accusatory statements and false negative reviews attacking him and his space. The reality is that this man came to a place where he felt safe and made a conscious decision to use and overuse. He was found a day later. This was no ones responsibility or fault. People overdose everyday on the street/side of the road, or in places where they are not even found for days. This is a severely sorrowful and grieving matter. I respect and stand with the memory and grieving of Max. But we must not hold others responsible for his death. Bob has issued a follow up apology statement so these are illegitimate reviews and declarations made against him. He did not ridicule a mans death, he rather bluntly stated what happened and coped within his own methods. Before creating and/or supporting false judgements and claims made against an entity or business, please conduct proper research while acknowledging that multiple realities are taking place at once. There is no right or wrong, rather action and reaction. May he rest in peace and we hold forgiveness in our hearts for the sake of unity and peace.

TERRIBLE! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN

I came here hoping to find a new favorite place to eat and interweave with people of like mind. When I arrived they ( a standoffish older gentleman sitting down and a more friendly woman maybe mid 30’s late 20’s) stared at me for a few seconds I confusingly said hello then was asked if I needed help. I replied it’s my first time here I came to try the food but did want to look around a bit first. I was met with a okay..not even a point in the correct direction and it’s a bit uncomfortable because it’s someones house! The people were fake friendly, not very attentive or much help when notified of it being a first time there. Wasn’t clean AT ALL. It’s in a HOME with animals roaming specifically a cat that was fluffy. The shop alone in itself is cool I personally didn’t see any crystals or other metaphysical items except herbs and I’m all for that type of thing but I WOULD NOT eat here. Flat out got up and went to public house. One start for RESTAURANT atmosphere because of the filth and disorganization. One start for service because it sucked And one star for the food because if it was that bad where I was I’m terrified of the kitchen I’m not saying any of this to shade or be mean I’m saying it because the reviews that are posted inspired me to go here and I felt as if I was lead on and i didn’t want anyone else to be that disappointed

Don't eat here! This place is kind of crazy. They were surprised someone ordered food from them. Random itchy dog is running around in and out of "restaurant." Food took sometime to make. They wanted me to sit around and wait for it. I didn't have time to do that. So, they rushed the order and food wasn't that great. The place is not that sanitary. Dirty buckets, dirty everything, everywhere. Place was sketchy to me. Seems like more is going on than just food restaurant.

THEY ARE COLD HEARTED AND CLAIM TO "HEAL" THE OWNER MADE MY FRIENDS PASSING A LAUGHING MATTER....THIS PLACE IS A JOKE

I went there after experiencing a sort of mental breakdown in my life. I had reached a crossroads and didn’t know where to turn. I was feeling emotionally and physically worn down. Upon entering the healing shack I was immediately welcomed with love and acceptance and after a few hours of musical catharsis and being around some of the most loving and accepting adults and kids alike (and let’s not forget about the dog!) I left feeling renewed and hopeful with a new plan! Each room has its own unique vibe from the patio to the kitchen to the yoga room/sacred room...I recommend reading the ‘holy bob-le’ as well as trying their medicinal cookies. I can’t wait to go back! Thanks so much Dr.Bob and family! Shout out to Ricardo and Brianna too for the warm hospitality and friendliness to a stranger! That’s how the world should be! Real healing right here!

This place has always had a negative energy around it and now our friend Max has lost his life here under the sketchiest of circumstances. I have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and stopped by once to meet a friend who was eating mediocre overpriced food and once to chaperone a friend going to the drum circle where we immediately left bc the drug abuse and harassment was too much. We were followed for a few blocks before we threatened to call the police on a participant. Not sure what kind of healing this place has ever done but beware, it’s not a safe space at all. #SHUTITDOWN

This place is unethical.

I wouldn't recommend this place. Although it has a colorful design on the outside and nice decor and stones on the inside, there is definitely some weird activity going on. I went there to check it out and get some lunch and was shocked that the owner, Dr. Bob, and his associate were not wearing masks while preparing the food or talking to customers. Weird energy and would caution anyone from going here.

Horrible behavior! But not surprised. You can't wear a mask forever, eventually you will tell who you really are! Xposed.

I have Diverticulitis along with many other health problems! This “Dr” offered help. He delivered 🥘 with 🪳’s in it!!! These are very bad for my stomach condition and I ended up in the Hospital because of it!!!

Wonderful place! Came here to talk with the herbalist. It was a talk that I very well needed to help me heal from past traumas I didn’t know affected my adulthood. I didn’t even go here for a mental health problem, but this made me realize some things I needed for myself! I hade digestion issues which is why I went here. Gave me DE and helped me breathe correctly and that was my issue. Been feeling so good ever since! Love this place the herbalist is a great guy.

Wanted to like this place. Ordered a few years ago and they served me food that I didn't order, telling me that they didn't have what I ordered in stock. I was sitting in the restaurant and me and my gf were the only customers. I don't understand why they didn't just tell me they didn't have what I wanted in stock. What they served should have been a fraction of the price that I ended up paying.

An idyllic oasis in the city, the Vegancafe313 inside the Psychedelic Healing Shack is our new destination vegan restaurant. We had a splendid rice and bean burrito, fantastic crab-less crabcakes and a delicious hibiscus drink. The service, ambiance, and most importantly the food and drink is superb. I highly recommend it. Besides the food, the place has décor, local color and flavor to spare. Vegancafe313 is a new gem of Detroit, an instant classic.

First time here. Middle of November. Met some friends here on a Saturday night...very very comfortable and extremely unique place. Amazing decor, obviously Psychedelic art and themes throughout. That night we had music...cool stand up bass and piano and a guitar joined in also. Dr. Bob cooked for us. Fried green tomatoes were awesome...also vegan smoothies for my friends. Black coffee for me. I am a "hippie child", so I just loved this shack. If you are into herbs, healing stuff, crystals and good food, head over here. This place will warm the heart on a cold Winters day. As of this review, masks were not mandated yet. Please call to see if anything changes yet or bring one just in case.

The Temptations from Motown raised the roof... then, they sang the signature song, "Psychedelic Healing Shack" which took it up a notch. Wednesday nights drummers gather to pound away and on my off days, Esme whips up my favorite eggs, potatoes, and greens dish. Simply vegetarian is the way to go. Food cooked with love and thoughtfulness keeps many of us coming back regularly. Dr. Bob is a super soul who has a finer understanding for life, its challenges, and embodies harmony. What a treat!

Dr. Bob is a lovely man with a beautiful holistic herb shop and cute Crystal sunroom off the porch! I went and did a healing session with him, would recommend if you are in need of a different approach!

Hands down, the best food I've had in a long time. My wife and I ordered the stir fry (coconut curry) with noodles, bean burger, bean quesadillia, lentil soup, and Chaga tea. Literally everything was amazing! Thanks Psychadelic Healing Shack!

While it may not look like much from the outside, upon entering it is warm, interesting, and comfortable inside. Many cool treasures from all over the world are displayed. We had great service from our wonderful server ( from Holland!) and excellent vegetarian and vegan food. Enjoyed potato leek soup, lasagna and really tasty tempeh wrap. It's a small place with only a couple of tables. We loved the whole experience and will definitely be coming back.

This is a great place to chill out, meet new people, have coffee or tea, read or whatever. The atmosphere is relaxing.

Came to PHS for the first time after a concert and it was an amazing experience! Dr. Bob is the sweetest man and the crowd was my kind of people! I can’t wait to go back. The food was incredible, the items for sale were interesting and everyone made us feel like family.

Spent 2021 420 here after a funeral service .. were vegan from out of town and stumbled in after finding it online ! They were very kind and welcoming even tho we kinda crashed the event etc. The owners were pleasent and very attentive to everyone even tho there was at least 30-50 in this space .... They manage it and we were thankful just to meet such loving ppl among the surroundings ... The citys of Detroit and Flint suffer from the some of the worst poverty and corruption I've we have ever personal witness and unfortunately become victims of, in communities that are literally falling apart etc. Among all that there's the "psychedelic healing shack" for that we are grateful !!! thankz

Such an interesting place. I had the lasagna, corn bread, and ginger tea. It was all very good, especially the lasagna, which I thought would just be ok, but it was really good. "Dr. Bob" is a thoroughbred hippie, but has a good heart and takes time to listen which is nice.

Dr. Bob truly works the mind body and spirit connections and knows we have more control over our mind, body and spirit with time and education. Im in luv with the RED SMOOTHIE and i recently added Dr. Bob's gluten free cornbread ITS PHENOMENAL and now im addicted to both...so i will be there a lot now bcuz i have been seeking an all in one place for my own mind, body and spirit and this place provides it all thru therapy, food , drinks, specialties and more. TRULY A HIDDEN TREASURE. This place is going to my essentials for health, prosperity and my growth...im glad to be a witness to all of this natural glories and gifts and therapy and food all in one place...convenience is key in a busy life. *Not to mention its a SAFE HAVEN away from the real world for sure...

came here during a small tour with my band. great vegan food that is made with love and you can taste the soul and effort in each dish. it’s a restaurant within a house, very DIY feeling. aside from the restaurant, they have herbs, spices and other holistic things. plenty of stones and rocks, incense, and good vibes.

We've been popping-in for years and have always felt welcome and comfortable. The food is fairly simple and always delicious. All ingredients are fresh and tasty. The drinks are FANTASTIC! My husband loves the Hibiscus tea drink and yesterday I had TWO delicious Chaga drinks with Oat milk and Brown sugar- one was to go. Ambiance is cool and relaxed and the location is convenient with lots of parking. I can't wait to return and try a new item on the menu

Dr bob is definitely very manipulative. Ive been coming here for a minute and his dog literally attacked my dog on sight (a small bichon). When i told him all he said nothing. “Your dog looks so nice”

If it could - stars and a warning sign trust in believe I would. There are so many things wrong with this place not to mention the health concerns. The place is infested with bugs... roaches and rats. I came up on the place the art and vegan cafe advertised is definitely my kind of vibe! But the darker it got and well...They are right when they say “creepy crawlers come out at night”. Very unsanitary, sticky place. The decor is cool but you can tell the owners intentions are wayyy off. I noticed a lot of knock offs and fake products but I was told a little intro at the door and they are supposedly “All Natrual, Eco Friendly, Holistic environment” but it is NOT I was very disappointed bc at first glance this is the type of place I always wanted to create myself ***(I go to school majoring in being a herbalist and work in all natural productions)***until I seen under the layers of disguise... I stayed for hours, the longer I stayed the more was revealed to me and EWW. Don’t waste your energy or money with this scam. Also come to find out most people who help build this place all left due to the taintedness of owner, his friends and quote on quote “messy manipulative wife”. Who knows about the he said she said (owner was contradicting himself and felt a little sketchy I chose to look past it to continue my journey here) but the fake products and filthiness is FACTS!! More than a restaurant, it's a must go to site for anyone visiting Detroit. It's a healing center with a beautiful garden, a cafe, they sell herbs and crystals, tea, 'special cookies' and great vegetarian food. In the words of Mr T, "I pity the fool that doesn't make this a go to place to hang out, eat, greet and meet! - Life's what you make of it - so check out this special quirky peaceful place and have a groovy little happening.
