I ordered a curry noodle plate. This is supposed to have coconut milk curry. There is none. This meal is extremely dry and flavorless. The noodles are also over cooked. I attached photos. I dug to the bottom and this meal is completely dry. No coconut milk curry to be found lol

I ordered carry out drunken noodle. Got home and there’s zero sauce. Just plain noodles. I called to ask about this and before I could even say “hi” was immediately told “please hold”. After several minutes of waiting I finally hung up. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant.

Was a favorite of mine since 2019. The food is good. Price is the issue. A plate of rice or noodles + protein went for $8-9 then. During covid they raised it to $10, which was still kinda tolerable and understandable. Now in 2022 it is $14. I understand inflation and all but +60% in 2 years? I don’t think so. Won’t be eating here anymore since my expensive hello fresh shipments are actually cheaper.

Ordered Pad Thai, but received Noodles & Chicken without any sauce… two of the three noodle dishes didn’t have any flavor/sauce. I tried calling and had to wait 10-15 minutes to connect with anyone.

Staff was amazing. It was super hot- no AC so beware. The kitchen means it’s hotter inside than outside (where today it was already 90) They were out of crab Rangoon and the shrimp dinner portion I got was huge but I mentioned how I wanted it to be oyster sauce based and I got a very coconut curry esque dish which, while it was good but just not my own taste. I’d come again to share a dinner entree- they do give a lot of food and protein!

I ordered pad, Thai, and it did not taste anything like pad Thai. I let my friends try it, and they agreed.. it was definitely not what I ordered. The flavor was pretty bland too, so I didn’t even eat all of it. Probably won’t come here again. Spent too much money for a dish that was mediocre at best. I hope you have a better experience than me.

I used to come here quite a bit for Thai food. The location is great and the food usually tastes pretty good. However this was in my “kow pad” today and I actually bit into what looks and feels like a small rock. Safe to say I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

This may be my last time going to this place. The quality of the food is not as good as it use to be. The noodles are WAY OVER COOKED, the sauce is pretty much non-existence, the coconut flavor definitely is not present anymore it tastes watered-down. So I'm giving this 2👎👎

I only gave 4 instead of 5 because I felt the portion (for carry-out at least) was a bit lacking in quantity. However, the prices made up for it and kind of met in the middle. I ordered the drunken noodles (mild) via GrubHub and they werent a disappointment. The mild spice was on point and not overwhelming. Also, the food was prepared on time and ready once I arrived.....which was slightly earlier than the e.t.a. I would definitely visit this place again and recommend it for thai in the Midtown area.

Fresh flavor explosion! The main dishes are a perfect portion size for a filling lunch or dinner, at a great price. I’m most impressed by how fresh it is. Definitely not a greasy, stale or tasting like it’s been sitting around. You can tell the food is made to order. I highly recommend this place for a casual dine out experience. There is a good variety of dishes with several vegetarian and vegan options. BONUS: convenient outdoor seating (though limited), and recycling for take away containers (I consider this a plus because plastic from takeout always seems so wasteful to me). I recommend eating outside and then maybe enjoying an ice cream from next door for desert! :)

This remarkable eatery not only serves the most exceptional Chicken Drunken Noodles and Chicken Fried Rice, but it holds a special place in my heart as the first restaurant I experienced upon moving to Great Lake State. This Thai eatery truly knows how to craft outstanding dishes, particularly their heavenly Chicken Drunken Noodles and tantalizing Chicken Fried Rice. Let's start with the star of the show—the Chicken Drunken Noodles. The wide rice noodles were flawlessly cooked, maintaining their perfect chewiness. The tender chicken slices mingled harmoniously with an assortment of vibrant vegetables, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The aromatic Thai basil, combined with a delightful spicy kick, elevated this dish to an entirely new level of deliciousness. Each mouthwatering bite left me craving more, a true testament to the mastery of flavors in this Thai delicacy. Equally impressive was their Chicken Fried Rice. Fragrant rice was expertly stir-fried with chunks of chicken, a medley of fresh vegetables. The combination of textures and flavors was simply divine, as the savory soy sauce and subtle smokiness from the wok enhanced the dish's allure. Every forkful was a burst of umami goodness, leaving me utterly satisfied. The overall dining experience at Go Sy Thai was top-notch. The trendy ambiance and friendly staff added to the restaurant's charm, creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. In conclusion, this place is a paradise for Thai cuisine lovers, and their Chicken Drunken Noodles and Chicken Fried Rice are true marvels. If you're seeking an unforgettable flavor adventure, this is the place to be. Prepare to be blown away by the exceptional taste, creativity, and authenticity that delivers with every dish.

I called in my order at 11:20 and was told my order would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I waited until well after the cook time to pick it up but it was not ready. I did not receive my order until 12:40. When I spoke with the manager his response was, well it was busy. I explained I was told 20-25 minutes. He said that’s just an estimate. I said it shouldn’t have been 4 times the estimated wait time. He said there was nothing he could do about the wait times. When I ate my food, my entree was cold but the spring roll was hot. I frequently ate here but never again. Don’t waste your time like they wasted mine!!!!

I ordered late and they made my food and offered me something extra. This is what a first time experience should be like. They were all awesome even when they were closing soon. Great job guys!

This was our first time trying Thai food and let me say, it was amazing. It's not a traditional sit down and be served restaurant. My partner and I sat down inside at a bench facing Cass Ave. I had Pad Pak, mild with chicken and shrimp. My partner had Thai Peanut, medium with chicken and shrimp. Both came with white rice. Both dishes were very tasty and they give big portions. I only have a picture of the Thai Peanut dish.

I used to frequent this place because of the food and service. This was my 1st time back since COVID restrictions were loosened. Gtanted, it's been over 1.5 years, but I was hoping the same pre-Covid quality and service, In my humble opinion, the service was sub-par and lacked personnel that could give you insights on the menu options. The person who took my order acted in a way that I should've known what to order in advance, nor did she make any recommendations. She only asked, "Are you ready to order?" Because of this, I did order a fied rice option, which was heavy on the curry seasoning. Also, they charged 75 cents for an extra dipping sauce for my spring rolls. Unfortunately, this used to be one of my favorite places to grab Thai food. Considering my experience today, I will search for other Detroit area Thai restaurants.

I had vegetables with rice in red curry sauce. Delicious! Spring rolls were small but tasty.

I was bummed that what I wanted was no longer on the menu. I explained that I wanted a low carb option and they accommodated me! I was pleased with my order of spicy Ka Tiem, without lettuce.

Food is decent, very seasoned and salty but I like salty food so I’m fine with it. I also don’t understand why they charge extra for making a dish vegan. Dinner portions are HUGE. Order in person to save money, the online order is ~$3 more expensive.

I hate leaving 1 star reviews, but I hate receiving 1 star service and food more. Sala Thai may be the last good Thai standing near downtown because this is not the Go Sy Thai I remember. Firstly, never order Grubhub from here - my first order was marked as delivered and it definitely wasn't. I didn't get a call or text or anything. Just 'delivered' and no food. So, I had Grubhub do a re-delivery. Takes over an hour. The driver arrived missing one of the entrees and all they could do was refund me. So, since this was an order for a group, I gave up my lunch. I was able to have a couple of spring rolls and tasted the hot and sour soup enough to know it was gross. Bummer. The Spring rolls should have had chicken and were $8.50 instead of $4.50 for the veggie ones, but I received veggie ones. Boo. They tasted ok dunked in plum sauce, but maybe that's because I had already been waiting an hour and a half to eat. The soup was basically inedible- it had the texture of lumpy gravy. No flavor, no bueno, lots of cornstarch. We paid $70 + tip for 3 curries, a soup and 2 spring rolls via Grubhub. My friend said the curry was good, but I have my doubts. Never again for me. Sad.

I ordered the sy’s fried rice and it was delicious. A couple of years ago this food was greasy but they’ve improved a lot!

Typically we get takeout, it's always SO fresh, food is still hot when we get home. Flavors are always fantastic ans perfect heat levels which have been consistent since I've been eating here, which has been years. Big fan!! I love the Panang Curry, the crab cheese, and the pad thai, but every dish has been delicious.

Great Thai place in Midtown. Ordered Curry Noodles 🍜 great taste. Quantity was great for a lunch. You need to inform the right spice level. Busy during lunch time, wait time can be more during this time. Good for smaller groups.

The Drunken Noodles was super salty and my Panang was mistakenly replaced with Potato Curry which lacked the real Thai flavor. First and last time to order from there. Service was good though but that alone didn't cut it for the real dining experience. I know my Thai food. This wasn't it.

This Sy Thai has garbage service. I will never come back and advise others to avoid. I placed my order and waited almost 40 mins for it - with groups that came in 15 mins after me receiving their order before me. When it was finally ready, I asked if they had just forgotten or if I had accidentally picked a dish that takes a long time to cook, that maybe I shouldn’t order next time. They were rude and told me that’s just the way it comes out and they didn’t forget - didn’t apologize at all. When I got home (a 15 min drive) I saw they did not give me rice with my curry - I would have to cook rice and wait another 45 mins to cook rice to be able to each my meal. I was frustrated - better to call and have them make it right, rather than stew in my anger. I called to request a refund and they offered to refund for just the rice or I could bring the food back to them across town at 9pm and only then would they refund me. Absolutely insane given that rice is integral to eating curry. The food here is really average and the benefit is that it is quick and cheap and I don’t have to cook myself. However if this place now takes forever, staff is rude to customers, does not provide the food I ordered, and make it so I have to cook my dinner anyway, AND not apologize and make it right - I will not come back. Stopping at Sy Thai was supposed to make my evening easier and simpler and it simply made it worse. I wish I did not go and just went home and cooked myself.

Great taste, great portion (I order one large plate and eat 4 meals), great price. I love Sy Thai located in Troy, but the overall portion, taste, price is uncompareable. Meaning that Go Sy Thai is SO MUCH BETTER

Stopped here for some dinner before attending a show at the majestic. And I was so happy we did! No wait to order, food came out quick, staff was friendly, and it was fresh flavorful and delicious. We will definitely be back for more💖

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. The food is pretty good and the portion sizes are huge. My roommate and I had enough leftovers for two additional meals! Staff was super friendly and they offered a student discount. Tou & Mai (bubble tea shop) is also connected to the restaurant so I usually place my order then get some bubble tea while I wait. Overall, convenient location and great food!

We tried the Drunken Noodle and the Udon, and were pleasantly amazed at the quality of the noodles, vegetables, and meat. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Definitely my go-to place for Thai or a noodle craving! Praise to the cooks!!

Tasted absolutely horrible! The beef was extremely over cooked and was like eating leather. There was no flavor to the noodles at all! I asked for medium spice and I couldn’t even taste any spice. Only reason it’s not 1 star is because the boba place connected to it is good and because it was cheap. I’m going to stick to real restaurants in the future.
