I really, really wanted to like my meal. The bread and spread were super delicious, and my boyfriend loved his meal. The place is super unique and decorated beautifully. Staff was super nice. However, I paid $20 for a Fettuccine Alfredo. It had hard, difficult to eat noodles. The chicken was overcooked and disgusting. They had to bring me more Alfredo sauce because the dish barely had any flavor- I actually had to ask if there was even any sauce because I wasn’t sure. The server and person bringing it out were super nice about it, but the meal was barely edible and I left pretty disappointed.

Came here for the first time with my family and have nothing but excellent things to say. The food and atmosphere is great; perfect for a night out with friends and family. Our server’s name was Duncan and he provided wonderful hospitality. When asked about a certain entree, he said that he wouldn’t recommend it and steered toward a better entree. Coming from the service industry, I appreciate his honesty. We ordered the mushroom fettuccine Alfredo and pasta bolognese as well as the garlic bread trio and meatballs. Everything had excellent flavor and service was outstanding. I would definitely comeback here to explore the menu more!

Had made a reservation for 12 for 6pm on a Saturday for my birthday celebration. When we arrived, our table was ready, and our server, Caroline, introduced herself. Caroline was amazing with our group. The food was unbelievable, absolutely the best! My partner had the Alfredo, and I had the bolognese. The Alfredo was out of this world and the perfect portion size. My bolognese was so delicious, and I'm so glad I opted to add meatballs as they were super tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They brought out my cake with lit candles (I didn't provide them), but funny enough, the blue candles they had matched the cake, so I got to blow them out and make my wish! They also have a nice bourbon selection. My Basil Hayden finished off a perfect night!!!! Thank you for an awesome birthday Pops and Caroline!!!!!!

I've visited this place multiple times within the past year and this place is always a good time. They're typically busy but it's worth the wait. The food is delicious. The pasta tastes freshly made. I love their Gnocchi and Fish entrees. The staff is very friendly. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Good italian food. Portions are on the smaller side. Very dietary friendly options, gluten free, vegan options, vegetarian. My eggplant parmasan was bland. Staff very kind. On the expensive side $17 avg per dish.

The food here is SUBLIME. It’s like a taste sensation in your mouth just exploding with goodness. From the stew tomatoes and capers intentionally placed around the salmon to the savory sweet onions and wild mushrooms bursting with flavor in the fettuccine dish—they covered ALL bases. The food was so delicious and hearty that I was almost offended. Lol. Every course surpassed my expectations in presentation, taste, and freshness. *chefs kiss*

Took my mom here for her birthday brunch! It took a minute to get seated, but once we were the service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Rolled the dice on a new place for my moms birthday and while I wouldn’t recommend doing that, I would absolutely recommend this place. So good we took my partners parents for dinner the next weekend. Really great place with amazing food that pushes the envelope enough to make it exciting.

I visited Pop's for Italian on a spirited Sunday evening in downtown Ferndale, and was impressed with the restaurant's spacious, inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch, even with the busy crowd. We kicked off our meal with glasses of wine but were a bit disappointed to discover that Pop's no longer offered wine flights. Fortunately, parking in Ferndale was plentiful, which made finding a spot a breeze. Here's how I rated the dishes: Garlic Loaf with Honey Ricotta and Aglio E'olio (8.5/10) - This dish stole the show for me. The garlic flavor was bold and incredible, and the honey ricotta and aglio e'olio (olive oil, parmesan, pepper, chili) were the perfect accompaniments. Although the bread was cooked well, I would have preferred it to be a bit more firm and less squishy. Butternut Squash Soup (6/10) - Unfortunately, this dish was a bit of a letdown. While the butternut squash flavor was present, the texture was too grainy for my liking, and the aftertaste was a bit odd. The crumble on top added a nice touch, but overall, I wouldn't order this soup again. Caesar Salad (6.5/10) - The presentation was great. The cold, crisp lettuce was accompanied by shaved parmesan that had a fantastic flavor. Unfortunately, the dressing was watery and lacked the punchy flavor that one would expect from a Caesar dressing. Additionally, at $18, the price felt a bit steep for what was ultimately a basic salad. Nonna's Spaghetti Bolognese (7/10) - This dish was a great value at only $17 for a large portion of pasta with meat sauce. While the pasta was cooked perfectly, there was no pop of flavor and I found the Bolognese sauce to be too meat-heavy, which overpowered the pasta. However, adding the meatballs for an additional $5 was well worth it, as they were delicious and packed with flavor. Overall, Pop's for Italian serves up decent Italian fare with great value on the pasta dishes. I would happily return to try their pizza and other types of pasta. If you're seeking a laid-back dining experience with excellent service in Ferndale, Pop's is worth checking out and should be around for quite a long time.

Wonderful atmosphere to enjoy a special evening with that special someone. No reservations required for parties less than 5 people. The waitress was very friendly by presenting many options for appetizers & entrees. The food was delicious and well displayed when bought out to the table. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant (make sure to download the ParkFerndale app). Dinner for two would be around $45-$65. Check out their website as they also have a brunch menu. The restaurant does take Apple Pay.

Nice place for salads, pizzas 🍕 and pasta 🍝. Spacious interior. Fast service. It’s located in a busy area, right on the main street. But it wasn’t too busy on a Sunday afternoon. And food was ready within 10 minutes.

This was my first time here. I ordered take out and Eric was very helpful explaining items to me. The food was good and flavorful (the meatballs could use a touch of salt to me). I will go back maybe next time I will dine in.

Celebrated a birthday here with brunch on a sunday! This place is fun, clean, and spacious. We ate all sorts of food from the menu. Everything was pretty good. I had a smoked salmon benedict and the fish appearing not to be cooked is a little weird but it tasted good! One of my poached eggs was over cooked. The potatoes that came on the side were pretty good. Loved the peach drink! Three had me feeling nice! Over all good experience. Staff was friendly. Would come for brunch again! Thanks for making the birthday celebration special.

One of my favorites in Ferndale and one of my favorite Italian places in general. I'm pretty picky with Italian food from growing up with my Nonna's amazing cooking. Pop's does a good job being modern and authentic at the same time. The food and drinks are always excellent. The brunch menu is also surprisingly great.

Honestly it was just a matter of taste. I had the Chef’s gnocchi with the pork belly and egg. I figured that since they were using pork belly that would add a fresh sweet touch to balance the saltiness of the pork belly. They didn’t, they leaned in to the saltiness the egg did add some creaminess but the salt was pretty strong. I’ll try something different next time. The service was great and she made me a mocktail, which is super nice for a sober person! When I go back I will choose a staple meal and I am sure I will love it. If I do I’ll bump them back up to 5 stars.

My table ordered the lasagna, eggplant parm, and Carbonara. And easily the best pasta dishes I’ve had. The prices aren’t overpriced, definitely fair prices for what they offer. I’ll definitely be back and continue to recommend this place.

Had an amazing experience here with a couple of my friends. Our server Lauren was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and even helped us with getting non-alcoholic drinks. Food was delicious and the atmosphere and general environment of the restaurant was also amazing.

This place is awesome! Had a wonderful charcuterie board, and got a gluten free pizza. I honestly couldn't believe it was gluten free it tasted so good. They have pasta substitutions, too. Will definitely visit again!

Brunch was awesome, best biscuits and gravy I have ever had! We will be back. We came back for dinner and it was wonderful. Definitely get the loaf of bread!

I have mixed feelings about this place. We ordered take-out and the food was tasty, indeed! The cashier/host was extremely pleasant and helpful. However, I did notice a red flag. For some reason when I ordered online, it registered as gluten free pasta. So, they didn't add any bread with the meal! No biggie! The cashier asked if I wanted bread and mentioned the GF order status. I said yes, I would like some bread, as I did not mean to select GF. I watched him walk right in the back (there is a window on the shared door leading to the kitchen), open up the bread container, pop my container open, and place the bread in. I mean NO gloves, no handwashing, no sanitizer whatsoever after touching people's money, the register, his phone, other customers cards, running his hand through his hair, then touching my bread that was expected to consumed (No, I did not eat the bread). I literally pay attention to everything and everyone dealing with food wherever I dine for reasons like this. Food Safety, which is supposed to be automatic training when applying to work anywhere dealing food, should be exercised. It's in place for a reason, and should not be an optional choice of application. The food stars is for the food actually being good, and them kindly acknowledging that one of the meals was scarce on pasta (12 noodles to be exact), and providing another one.

Bustling place! Came here for Sunday brunch to check out the new menu. There are so many savory options, all with a little twist. Get here early to be ready to wait a bit, this place is popular. Very friendly staff, helpful and really give great opinions on the menu. Nice cocktail menu, nothing over the top, but different and nice. The sounds of food and groups talking and laughing in this post industrial setting make it quite pleasant to sit down.

I was there with a group of 6 other people. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and the food was okay. As they specialize in Italian cuisine you'd expect a much better quality than that. The chicken was decent but for the price the portion was small in my opinion. The pasta was mushy and the sauce wasn't the best. I was kind of disappointed. The waitress wasn't able to split the bill in 7 but she only said she could do it in 5 which made no sense. We all then had to scramble and pay each other for our meals. Ridiculous. Will not return

! The food was absolutely delicious, and every bite was a culinary delight. From the perfectly cooked steaks to the mouthwatering sides, I couldn't get enough. The flavors were exceptional, and the presentation was top-notch. The ambiance and service were equally impressive, making it a memorable evening. I can't wait to return for another yummy meal!

My partner and I dined at Pop’s for Italian last Saturday at 4:00pm. We were seated promptly and received excellent service from Emily, who was personable, attentive and went over the menu highlights with us. We ordered drinks (the Pops Amici is a refreshing limoncello cocktail and their wine list isn’t at all overwhelming or pretentious) and an appetizer; the Spicy Mussels. Do not let the word “spicy” deter you from ordering this appetizer! I LOVE mussels and I can confidently say that this was my favorite take on the dish that I’ve ever had. The tomato based broth was more savory than spicy and earned a Chef’s Kiss. *Tip: Keep the leftover broth for pizza crust.* For entrees, I ordered the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina with added meatballs and he ordered the Prosciutto pizza. The gnocchi was pillowy soft, the mozzarella was very tasty, and the dish was proportioned very well. The pizza had the nice crisp you’d expect from a well made Neapolitan style and the toppings were all high quality. As for the atmosphere of the restaurant, it is perfect for a romantic date night, but would also feel comfortable as a solo dine at the bar or a more causal family get together in the main dining room. The staff, including Manager Chris, made sure our entire experience was excellent, which we value. We look forward to dining with Pop’s again!

I dined-in for brunch on a Saturday and the service was exceptional. I ordered the braised short rib and egg with an expresso martini and everything was delicious. I loved that the menu’s had cross word puzzles and other activities to complete, while you wait. This is great when you are alone or on a date. I gave three stars because the booth and table needed to be cleaned. I will be back to try other menu items.

We had our rehearsal dinner here, and could not be happier with how it turned out! It was kid-friendly for our flower girl/ring bearer too. The food was delicious, and the bar was right inside our space with so many options for what would be included for each party’s budget. Michelle was super easy to get in contact with to plan our dinner too! Overall, super affordable and enjoyable restaurant.
