Most of my review is under Detroit Shipping company as a whole but I wanted to highlight today's INSANE Thai pizza from Bangkok 96. I have visited this place numerous times but never had such a fun pizza as this one. While I had chicken this time I will definitely try the variations (steak and soon tofu). What I love about this place is how innovative they are. Everything is the freshest, including the mozzarella cheese. Broccoli is not boiled but sauteed properly on a seasoned skillet and it has that amazing depth of flavor. I was told that soon will be pho season which I am really psyched about! (And yes their noodles will also be handmade so be psyched too!!!)

This place is AMAZING and carry out service is perfect. Food carries out well and great for a family dinner night. Wouldn’t have made it through covid on my wife’s cooking so thanks Bangkok!

Bangkok 96 serves extremely delicious Thai food. I tried 2 dishes, the potato curry and a noodle dish, and both were very flavorful! I asked for medium spice and it was perfect. The portions were very generous and their service was quick. Can’t wait to try more dishes there.

I love the rice and noodles here, the taste is very good, good portion. For now, it only has a takeout service, you can order online and they give you the time you can go through your order if there is a line, it moves quickly.

Great lunch today! Complimentary soup too. Had the Pad See Ew with chicken and added some veggies. Huge helpings! I had spicy and it was warm but not too hot. Will be back soon.

I've been coming here since I was in high school - for nearly 20 years! It has always been so consistently well made and delicious. I always get the pud Thai, sometimes with shrimp and sometimes without, and often a spring roll or two to go with it. Its been about a year or so since I was last there, and a couple years since I've had the spring rolls, but when I went there the other day, I must say I had my first somewhat disappointing experience with my food. I got 2 orders of the pud thai, mild, no shrimp or other meat, and 4 spring rolls. My daughter's pud Thai was good, but mine was surprisingly dry, not much of the sauce was on it at all, so not as much flavor. The spring rolls were really strange and tasted very different - specifically the fried wrap - it tasted totally different and wasn't good at all, and it was chewy. Honestly it reminded me of many gluten free things I've tried. It was difficult to chew, and the flavor was just really weird. I'm hoping it was just some kind of fluke. I will try them again, and hopefully they're back to normal. Maybe it was just undercooked, or an off batch of the wraps/paper or something. I sure hope so, anyway!

Hands-down, Bangkok 96 is the place to go for the very best Thai cuisine. This restaurant is family owned, and the taste of the food shows it. Thank you for staying open for take-out during challenging covid/quarantine times. 🙂

Very first time visiting and I cannot Express enough how amazing this food was and budget friendly. Staff was beyond friendly and courteous exceeded my expectations. This is definitely at the top of our list as regular places to visit biweekly for dinner . Can't say we are the only ones as the place was completely full.😊

We are not locals, but several years ago we went to this restaurant and were blown away by the great food and carved veggies accompanying the entrees. We were on Dearborn today and decided to celebrate our daughters birthday by having dinner there again. We were shocked and surprised at the change. The restaurant was now run down and grungy, there was counter service only and supplied stacked all around the restaurant. It didn't even feel like the same restaurant. We tried to order, but we were told that the top 3 of our requests were no longer on the menu because they "didn't carry the sauce". The paper menus provided by them had the entrees listed, and also on their website. So we quickly chose something else from the menu, which showed food being served on a plate. It was early so we were the first customers for dinner service so we didn't see food that anyone else was eating. We ordered it to eat in. We were surprised when our order came in take out containers in plastic bags. No carved veggies, or nice presentation. But this can be overlooked if the food is good. I had the Shrimp Pud Thai. The shrimp were so overcooked that they were barely edible. The only thing in the dish that I could identify besides the shrimp and the peanuts were the noodles. No bean sprouts, an occasional green onion piece. It was the worst Pud Thai I have ever had. My daughter (who loves it) didn't even finish hers. My husband enjoyed his entree. We were so disappointed and will unfortunately take this one off our bookmarked list of favorites.

Hair in the food twice.. disgusting. Their green curry used to be my favorite until one day I get it with very green stained chicken, looking very unappetizing. Fried rice is bland. found two hairs in my noodle dish and the hairs were two different textures! One fine hair and one small black hair... then ordered a to go fried rice and there was a long black hair. So unsanitary

This restaurant is known for great Thai food. However, the service needs some improvement. Food delivery is not available, and the associate rudely closed the door after he serviced two customers inside. He then used the outside service window to assist me. I told him that I did not appreciate that and he apologized. I hope that the food is better than the service.

This used to be the best Thai in the area. But no more! They were unreachable by phone. After ordering in person, the food was utterly disappointing. My "hot" dish was a spiceless slop. The staffing issues are real. Can NOT recommend.

I would give this place 4 or even five stars, my first experience was so delightful I ordered a Shrimp fried rice entree. However today I ordered bbq chicken noodles, The noodles were good but I'm disappointed at the burnt extra charred chicken. I'm not saying I want try them again may just sick with their Shrimp

I'm a vegetarian. I'm allergic to shellfish. I ordered F1 with Tofu carryout. When I received my order it had shrimp and chicken in it. I talk to a manager and she claimed I ordered F2 and refused to replace the order. I know how to read, I'm a vegetarian allergic to shellfish I know how to order my food my life depends on it. I didn't order F2. I'm never patronizing this place again. I've never had this happen ever. Unbelievable and sad!!

First time here. I got the N2 and my husband got the N1. N2 was pretty good and I liked it. N1 was a bit more towards the sweet taste and I’m not a fan of it but that’s just my preference. The hot and sour soup was meh, I could feel the vinegar but there was something else in it that was kind of strong. The fresh rolls with chicken was good but I wish there was a better sauce for it because the sauce that was given was sweet.

Good Thai food is hard to come by. When you come here, it doesn’t matter what you order the food is great. Flavor is always a must and they nail it every time. Only issue this time was my rice was a bit mushy, but any other time is great!

The food is sooooo good here! I especially love the Thai Steak and curry fried rice. I probably get food from here once a week and it’s always worth the wait. Thank you for staying open and being there for us during these COVID times.

Hands down best gluten free batter I’ve ever had. There is a sweet little lady, ask her to make you a gluten free chicken and Brocoli dish, and you will be amazed. Haven’t had gluten free food that tasted so good with the greatest texture since I had my last bite of gluten.

We went here for a friend's birthday without knowing it was pick up only, but we really wanted Thai food, so we decided to place a carry out order and take it home. I'm so glad we did! They were incredibly busy with pick ups but we didn't end up waiting very long at all and the staff member taking orders was nice and very efficient. I ordered the Pad See Ew and spicy crab wonton and both were so good! The noodles were really nice and the spice level was perfect (I got medium spice). The wontons were also very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Thai food in Dearborn.

Wasn't able to dine in so we ordered take out. The Bangkok 96 fried rice was very VERY good. I love the texture of the rice and the rich, deep taste of all the veggies, shrimp, and chicken all brought together with umami of soy sauce. The chicken green curry was slightly disappointing though. The chicken has a very weird shade of green and blue, and the taste of green pepper was very overpowering. We couldn't really taste the curry, and the whole dish was too sweet to our liking. We also tried to order coconut ice cream but they didn't seem to have that at the moment (I really wish they can have coconut ice cream again!! I really want to try it!!).

I don’t live in the area, so it’s been several years since I’ve been here. There are a lot of good Thai restaurants in Metro Detroit, but Bangkok 96 is certainly one of the best. The hot and sour soup has something unique going on that I couldn’t describe other than may be a little bit of molasses. We have the pad ped with a brown sauce instead of the red curry coconut and it was fantastic!

A sad day in my life. Have been eating here forever ,(ever since they were in the hotel) today that will change, went in for my fav meal of pad sew u and it was horrbil !!! Two bites and im tossing it out only had to pieces of broclii and i ordered medium was way way to hot , and i always eat medium! And the sauce was not the sauce that comes on this dish something was way off with the noodles they smelled really bad. This is now the second time with bad food wondeing if Genevieve still owns and takes pride in this restraunt.

Very good option for Thai food. This restaurant has an unassuming exterior, but inside the best of dishes await. The Pad Thai was so good. Beware, even the Medium will have you sweating! They don't hold back on the heat! The beef curry was also amazing; love the mushrooms in it! The chicken satay was also divine with two excellent sauces!

4 out of five times now my food was not made to order. I always order medium spicy and I have been getting mild spicy. Ever since the owner opened up her new street restaurant in Detroit the food has went down hill in Dearborn and when you call all they say is I'm sorry not bring it back and we will make it right or we will give you a replacement when ever you want to come back. I believe the owner needs to go back to Dearborn and train the cook that thinks mild is what everyone want. Or better yet fire that person because I'm not the first one to be complaining about it. I went there for years and now I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Sorry but not sorry for the bad review because it's the truth.

Haven't been here in a long time, but I had the Mongolian Hotpot for 2 and it was phenomenal, the Thai tea was good. Tried chicken satay for the first time there, wasn't a fan of that, but that's just my taste preference.

Recently returned from Bangkok and was looking forward to some good Pad Thai and this place did not disappoint! However the spring rolls for $1 each aren't so great as they are almost empty. Would love to have had some mango rice too, maybe next time

I drove a ways to eat here and was a little disappointed. The food was pretty good but the atmosphere was different than I was expecting. Think carryout with tables inside and you won't be disappointed. The 5 gallon bucket of Clorox wipes sitting on the table near the door made me feel like the covid lockdown was still on in full force. The only thing missing was a mop bucket.

Delicious food, and fast service. The servings are huge. You will be taking some home. Three in our party. We ordered from the Stir Fry options. I had #8 PAD CASHEW w/chicken, mild seasoning, loved it! Other 2 had #12 PAD NOR MAI (mild) w/chicken and #18 PAD KANA (medium) w/beef. They loved theirs, too. We all had hot & sour soup that was yummy.

They're one of the best Thai places in the area. Generous portions. I always have leftovers to take to lunch the next day. I like their pad Thai and their pad ped with tofu or shrimp. And their satay chicken with peanut sauce.

I ordered a pad see-ew shrimp mild. Everything tasted good, good heat level but the noodles were old and dried up and kinda chewy.

I haven't been here in maybe a 2 years or so. I used to get Pad Thai that was pretty decent. Got a dish last night cause the new Thai place Ive been going to was closed. I can crush Thai Food, this was so bad I threw it out. There were so many water chestnuts in the dish and the sauce was dreadful. Inedible. Don't think I will be returning if this is what they are dishing out now.

  • 2/5 Milan M. 3 years ago on Google
HORRIBLE! What in the world is this? I asked for Pud Thai, NOT SOUP. Has no flavor, tastes like water. I dont like the fact that I have to stand outside in the freezing cold, coming in and out the car checking to see if my food is ready just to get home and realize that I was given SOUP! The shrimp in my other dish is fishy! Doesn’t taste fresh AT ALL!

  • 5/5 Tommy P. 3 years ago on Google
My FAVORITE place to go for thai food. I always go with my traditional F1, the thai fried rice. The chicken is good, some people prefer the beef. I always get my thai fried rice minus onions, with extra peas, carrots, and eggs. The dish is simply to die for, although they have a large selection of delicious foods! If you're ever in the area, please stop by!

I recently ordered dinner from Bangkok 96. It was good however, it was a little dry. That’s the reason for 4 stars. The portion size was big and I was able to eat three meals from my one order.

Best Thai food ever! We loved eating in the lady would always bring my young son made up toys she made, play with him, sing and even dance with him! We loved when they would make cute flowers out of vegetables to make our plate look even prettier. Now that it's carry out only we still order a few times a month and it's delicious. Satay is our favorite appetizer! The cucumber sauce with it is so tasty! I love the pad pal with all the fresh vegetables. You can't go wrong with any dish here! Amazing food!

👍👍 This was a very cool and unique restaurant. I loved the atmosphere, and all the older Ford cars and decor that surrounded the place. They had indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of craft beer (got my flight sampler) and the food menu was amazing with a lot of options too! I'd definitely recommend...
