My first experience with JayDee’s Soul Food. Minutes after getting in my car with the food I could already smell the amazing redolent soul food smell. Overpowering the smell of 2 of my ‘Little Trees’ black ice scents. When I got home and opened my food up I saw my glycerin sweet chili Wing Dings shining back at me with a good portion of fries and a soft roll. The chicken was cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bone easily, also tender with not toooo much crunch. Battered well. Great combination with the french fries as there are some french fries under the chicken that give the fries a great sweet chili taste, and you can never go wrong with a soft roll. Everything was delicious and I will for sure be coming back, not just for the food but also for JayDee’s presents. As I met JayDee and realized that he is naturally people friendly. He is a brother that you would want to see succeed off his remarkable kindness and talent in the kitchen.

Omg the food is soooooo good 😩. I ordered the smothered pork chops with Mac and cheese and greens. I want to go in the kitchen to see if it’s a southern old lady hiding in there because there’s no way this food isn’t made by someone’s big mama lol. And the pretty chocolate girl working in the kitchen was super nice. The only negative was that I couldn’t place the order over the phone. Definitely worth it! I’ll be back!!

BBQ chicken is amazing, sweet yams yes plz, baked chicken yummy, fried green tomatoes sooo gooood, but the green beans are the bomb🖤 nice people and great service given "rona"

This place is a hidden gem om goodness I stop buying soul food because I can cook my own. My sis talked me into trying this one. I’m so glad she did everything was on point. I didn’t have to add anything to it. I’m sure once I try everything on the menu I’ll give it 10 ⭐️ you go girl. This is a must try place

This place is so good. Great portion size. I got the oxtails. Best choice ever! My friend got the Turkey wings. The box was so full, the sides had to be pur in separate containers.

The food was soooooo good!! We were visiting from Cleveland and found this place online. The pork chops, Turkey chops, greens, mac, and yams were delicious and the cornbread was very good too. Just FYI, it's not a stand alone restaurant like it said online it's in a bar

Food is fire.....happened to be driving back through Detroit otw back to Ortonville and looking for real soul food.......best food I found up north so far.....will definitely be driving an hr back to get more.....would post a photo, but I already ate it before I thought about it

Didn't eat at this restaurant number one it was closed Google said they were open and they are closed I don't know they close for good but it looks that way can't tell you nothing about this restaurant but that they are not open and this is another one why is it so hard to find a good Soulful restaurant in the state of Michigan Aldi's soul food restaurants on the west side east side North Side South Side in different neighborhoods are not Soulful restaurants you don't have soul food mixed with pizza soul food consist of fried chicken fried fish grits candy yams collard greens cornbread chitterling smoked nut balls oxtails turkey wings meatloaf barbecue chicken and the list goes on and on and on I have not found one good soul food place in Michigan that actually cater and serve soul food I need to open up mirror soul food restaurant cuz this is sweet redundant don't like this place

They catered my cousins repast and it was terrible!!! They were late to the venue!! We the family arrived before they did!! Then when they arrived..they had no burners for the food..so the food was cold..ie lukewarm cold😳!!! Then the portion sizes were minimal for grown adults🤔!! I was very disappointed for the price my cousin paid..I would definitely not recommend this establishment for anyone that I know💯

The Food prepared by Jaydee's is always awesome. My favorite is the cabbage greens OMG. For the first time I tried the Salmon burger. The taste was unbelievable. I was not ready for what I got. As they say it was slapping. I will be back for more real soon. Thanks for the love you put into your cooking.

I didn't realize this place was a kitchen inside of a bar until we entered, but not a real issue. Ordered several dishes, including wings, pork chop, and catfish, and all were good.
